In the context of the convergence revolution that brings together culture, technology, and humanities, the fashion industry is aiming to form product strategies to create added value. The ultimate aim of these strategies is to satisfy consumers' diverse needs. Boosted by discussions on sustainability in the fashion industry, sustainability management activities are also emerging as a trend in product strategy. Therefore, it is important to consider both convergence and sustainability management activities together as drivers of fashion brands' product strategies. The main objectives of this study are as follows: (1) to examine the differences in sustainability evaluation by product strategy, (2) to determine how sustainability evaluation affects brand attitude and purchase intention, and (3) to identify how this effect varies according to the types of convergence and sustainability management activities. The main findings of this research are as follows. First, sustainability evaluation varies according to fashion brands' product strategy. Second, evaluation has a positive effect on brand attitude and purchase intention. Third, the effect varies according to the types of convergence and sustainability management activities. This study is an extension of previous research for combining fashion brands' convergence and sustainability management activities as a part of their product strategy, which, in turn, contributes to positive consumer responses on the marketing level. Moreover, results provide practical implications for fashion brands that enable them to establish efficient marketing strategies regarding to convergence and sustainability management activities.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of threat perception and psychological reactance to graphic health warnings on cigarette packages on intention to quit smoking among smoking adolescents. Methods: The participants were 185 smoking adolescents attending two industrial specialized high schools, who had witnessed graphic health warnings on cigarette packages within the previous 30 days. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN Ver. 25.0. Results: The results showed that participant threat perception (β=.14, p=.037) after witnessing a cigarette warning message had a positive influence on intention to quit smoking. On the other hand, psychological reactance (β=-.23, p=.001) showed a negative influence on intention to quit smoking. Conclusion: When designing and developing a message for smoking adolescents, customized messages are required to reflect teenagers’ characteristics and raise threat perception and lower psychological reactance. In addition, we propose a future study be conducted to determine the influences of various psychological determinants, including self-efficacy and skills, on threat perception and psychological reactance to graphic health warnings on cigarette packages among smoking adolescents.

Objectives: Limited information is available on the presence and associated ecological risks of pharmaceutical residues in aquatic environments near pharmaceutical manufacturing areas in Korea. In this study, we investigated the current state of pharmaceutical contamination and its associated ecological risks in streams near a pharmaceutical manufacturing complex. Methods: Seven pharmaceuticals (acetaminophen, clarithromycin, diclofenac, diphenhydramine, ibuprofen, mefenamic acid and roxithromycin) were measured in water samples collected from the streams near a harmaceutical manufacturing complex. A predicted no-effect concentration (PNEC) was derived using either the assessment factor method or species sensitivity distribution method. In addition, a hazard quotient for each pharmaceutical was calculated by dividing its measured environmental concentration by its PNEC. Results: Samples collected downstream from the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) had higher concentrations of pharmaceuticals than those collected from the reference site (upstream). Moreover, pharmaceutical concentrations were greater in ambient water than in the final effluent from the WWTP, which suggested that non-point sources were contributing to the contamination of the ambient water environment. Some of the target pharmaceuticals exhibited a hazard quotient >1, indicating that their potential ecological effects on the aquatic environment near the pharmaceutical industrial area should not be ignored. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the pharmaceutical manufacturing area was contaminated with residual drugs, and that there was a possible non-point source near the WWTP effluent discharge area. The results of this study will aid in the development of management plans for pharmaceuticals, particularly in hotspots such as pharmaceutical industrial sites and their vicinities.

In this paper, the author presents the theological problems of theistic evolutionary theory. First, it is the inadequacy of methodological naturalism that presupposes the neutrality of science. Second, theistic evolution is a kind of functional deism that blocks God"s providential intervention. In functional deism, God puts himself out of the universe He created. Third, theistic evolution is not based on scientific facts. Fourth, it is an error to reduce God"s creation to the activity of nature. In theistic evolutionary theory, God is no longer the Lord of creation or providence, but only an observer. Fifth, theistic evolutionary theory fundamentally conflicts with the biblical creation narratives.
