        근대전환기 기행체 서사와 근대소설 양식의 상관성 고찰

        한국 근대문학사에 있어서 근대전환기는 다양한 서술 방법이 혼재되던 시기였다. 이 혼재의 양상은 새로운 특성을 지닌 서사 작품들을 만들어내었는데, 본고에서 집중적으로 살펴본 서사는 ‘기행’체 서사이다. 일반적인 근대의 기행문과는 차이를 보이는 이 시기의 ‘기행’체 서사들은 전통적 서술 방법과 새로운 서술 방법이 각각 서로 다른 대상을 서술할 때에 사용되었다는 특징이 보인다. 전통적 서술 방법을 사용한 ‘기행’체 서사들은 주제의식이 전근대의 지배 이데올로기에 초점이 맞추어져있었으며, 일본 유학생들이 주로 서술한 새로운 ‘기행’체 서사들은 외형적으로는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 당대적 이데올로기를 대상을 통하여 표상하려고 하였다. 이 같은 ‘기행’체 서사 가운데 무엇보다도 주목되는 작품들은 ‘기행’체 서사와 ‘몽유’체 서사가 혼종 되고 있는 것들이다. 서술 대상이 현실인가 꿈인가의 현격한 차이에서부터 접목되기 어려워 보이는 이 같은 작품들은 각각의 서술 방법의 특징을 약화시키거나 두드러지게 함으로써 변화한 근대전환기의 당대적 현실을 담아내려고 하였다. ‘몽유’체 서사가 가지고 있는 허구성은 약화되는 대신 당대적 주제의식은 더욱 강화되었고, ‘기행’체 서사가 가지고 있는 사실성은 내화인 ‘몽유’의 주제의식을 독자들에게 보다 현실적으로 받아들일 수 있게 하는 효과적인 방법이었던 것이다. A variety of narrative styles are mixed in the transition period to modern era in Korean modern literature history. Such trend has led to the birth of narratives with new characteristics, of which a “travel” narrative is the focus of this paper. The travel narrative is unique in that traditional and new narrative styles are used for different targets. While the focus of the traditional narrative is on dominant ideology in pre-modern period, the new narrative-although there seems to have no big difference between the two-is used by those who have studied in Japan to express the ideology of the transition period to modern era. A mixture of “travel” and “mong-yu” narratives draws the most attention in the travel narrative. What seems to hard to be harmonized tries to show the reality of the transition period by weakening or distinguishing the narrative characteristics. Fictional aspects of “mong-yu” is weakened while a theme is strengthened. The reality in “travel” narrative works effectively to help readers embrace the theme in “mong-yu” narrative.

        일제강점기 영화와 출판 검열의 연동과 변화 양상

        The purpose of this paper is to determine how the colonial policy did change over the censorship data of the 1910-1945. First, make sure that there is any difference in the way of censoring films and publications. Second, the censorship system is to be make sure how any changes over time .The film censorship resembled to the publication censorship, and it was the propaganda of the system in the late 1930s. Alternatively publication censorship has changed in the way of direct repression since the late 1930s.This paper is to say detailed description and its significance on these materials. Also, it was confirmed that in the late of Japanese occupation, Government-General's censorship policy was converted to punishing those who reading Hangul novels and using Hangul, rather than confiscation or banning of publications.

        『독립신문』 수록 단형 서사 문학 연구 : 문답체 서사를 중심으로 Mainly a narration of the interrogatory style

        A purpose of this thesis is to analyze a narrative literature of short style which carried in the newspaper of 『The Dohrip Shimnun』 which published for three years from 1896 to 1899. The narration of short style in this thesis means that it is a style of literature in the age of civilization formed in the process from the premodern literature into a new modern literature, that is, the narration of short style is a style of a narration which appaeraed on the process into a new modern literature, and such narrations of short style were mainly found in an editorial of the news papers in the age of civilization It remarkably used a lot of narrative and fiction in order to help the readers's understanding without marshalling the editors's arguments merely in the editorials of news papers in its day. That could be put this way, too. namely, it borrowed a fictional style as a means of the vehicle of an element of editorial. There were found some features in the newspaper of 『The Dokrip Shimnun』 analyzed by the present writer among some editorials to be different from the editorials of other newspapers, they are as in the followings, First, the interrogatory style was distinguished over a majority of the editorial Second, It leads an editorials to borrow a fable style. First of all, the most distinguished feature in the newspaper of 『The Dokrip Shinmun』 was to make the best use of a narration with the interrogatory style. The very efficient use of a narration with the interrogatory style is a major chain of connection which continued into a fiction with the interrogatory style in the modern novel. The present writer analyised an effect which made use of a narration with the interrogatory style written on the newspaper of 『The Dokrip Shinmun』. The result of the study is as in the followings. First, It was very efficient that a new generation(generation of modern) could enlighten the old generation(premodern generation) through the efficient use of a narration with the interrogatory style, that is, it was useful to enlighten the old generation of premodern through the enlightened intellectuals of the day. Second, a narration with the interrogatory style was very efficient to stress education and criticism on those days in the age of civilization. Farticually, in this case, it gave us persuasive power from the viewpoint that the people of the other developed countries could criticize and advise reality of our country. Such a narration with the interrogatory style had an effect on formation in the modern fiction to be connected with fable styles added a further fictions element. As the editorial of 『The Dokrip Shinmun』 is showed a lot of form linked with two aspects closely, it had an direct influence on development of into a modern fiction of with the interrogatory style and development-discussion style into a modern fiction. In consequence, a result of this thesis which the present writer argue is that the editorial with a narration character written on the newspaper of 『The Doluip Shinmun』 could be ultimately a basis capable of any micro-evidence about a process of our moder literary development. Accordingly, we have to discuss them in future continually.

        1910년대 활자본 고소설과 『무정』에 수용된 기녀담 서사 유형 비교 연구

        This thesis is a trial for making a comparative study of two representative styles in the 1910's, when diverse descriptive styles were mixed. The first aim of this study is to abstract a common description from "Mujeong", called as the first modem novel and the stories of ancient times with printed edition and to define the common and different points. To do this, firstly, the descriptive style was arranged around a central pivot of "kinyeodam", the common description of two styles. To perform this work, I abstracted the descriptive style by dividing works, which were containing the description of "Kinyeo" out of stories of ancient times with printed edition in the 1910's, into descriptive paragraphs and then attempted the work of abstracting the description in the center of "Young Chae Park" in "Mujeong". The following styles are abstracted by arranging the description of the stories of ancient times with printed edition in the center of "Kinyeodam" as follows: a. A heroine was born with the middle classes at least. (birth and status). b. She became a kisaeng for saving her parents or due to the fall of family (downfall of status). c. She tied the nuptial knot to a man (getting acquainted with a man). d. She parted from the man (parting) e. She tried to die by drowning herself in the water in the risk of rape by an obstructor (oppression) f. She was rescued out of danger by a helper (rescuer). g. She d e d to a hero by his succession (reunion). Comparing to the above, the feature of "Young Chae Park", in the description of "Mujeong", the modem novel is arranged as follows: two different points are discovered. Firstly, "Hyung Sik Lee", the hero, who must take charge of the role of helper, did not attempt the rescue with positive attitude and secondly, "Young Chae Park" was to confronted at a situation that she had to rescue herself as the result that the helper faded his role of rescue. This study f i d s that "Hyung Sik Lee", the hero was a modernistic ego in an indefinite manners and the failure of helping "Young Chae Park" was a necessary consequence of modem value system. It also makes it clear and shows that the aforesaid two different points are the origin dividing the times into modern and pre-modern as well as the characteristic of two different styles. This is the very important characteristic of "Mujeong" the starting point of modern style.

        공판기록으로 살펴본 일제강점기 후반독자들의 자발적 문예운동이 가진 특징과 의의- 문예창작과 항일운동과의 관계성을 중심으로 -

        This paper is to look at the status and significance of literary movement of the anti-Japanese. In the late of Japanese occupation, the Korea literature received a severe crackdown of the Governor-General of Korea, many writers turned to walking in the way of pro-Japan collaborators, so was significantly reduced the autonomy of the literary works. At this time, the general readers were trying to encourage the national consciousness in such a way that reflected their idea to works through meetings such as Creative Writing and reading Hangul novels. And the major case was related with the activity of Dong-Sim-Hoe before and after 1941 that organized by "Son Taek Ryong " who was the factory worker and "Choi Yun Hae" who was a commodity trader. At a time of being banned using Hangul, they actively read Hangul novels and revealed aspirations for creative writing. The literary movement organizations such as Dong-Sim-Hoe went out activities through meetings of active Creative Writing, reading Hangul novels, in such circumstances that the Korea Literature was not visible enough to proper guidance. This paper confirmed that nationalist literary movements in the late of Japanese occupation symbolized the general reader's active role, also these readers were substituted for the substantial portion the existing Korea literature did not perform.

        근대전환기 언론 매체에 수용된 서사체 비교 연구 -학회지와 신문의 비교 고찰을 중심으로-

        The newspaper has been the focus of many studies on the literature text in the transition period to modern era. The reason is that its wide range of readers and frequent publication make many people expect the newspaper to represent the period. Journals flourished in the period as well. However, studies on the text in the journals have not been actively made due to the perception in which journals are the bulletins of certain organizations. This paper reviews all the text in the newspaper and journals in the period to overcome such viewpoint. The characteristics and literary value of the text will be examined. The scope of the literature text in the newspaper has recently been expanded as various types of the text are taken from a literary perspective through studies. Such approach could also be applied to the text in the journals. The journals in the period not just targeted the members of their organizations. They covered different kinds of text in its format and content, which was similar to the newspaper. With such possibility in mind, the paper aims to review various text in the newspaper and journals in the period so as to confirm "narrative style" in them. In the existing studies has "short narrative" a new concept of type been created with "literary" elements extracted from the newspaper text. The same approach could be taken for the journal text as well. To this end, the paper applies the concept of "narrative style", a fundamental element which could make a text a literary narrative. "Short narrative" makes it difficult to identify micro-differences of the text because its concept is categorized as a type in which different kinds of text are grouped together for a certain purpose. On the contrary, the approach of "narrative style" analysis is based on literary generality. Therefore, the approach makes it possible to identify the writing purpose and composition of the text. Moreover, if something reflecting the specificity of the period is identified in the "narrative style" taken from the text in the newspaper and journals, it could contribute to explaining what distinguishes the narrative literature in the period. 지금까지 근대전환기 언론 매체와 관련한 문학 텍스트 관련 연구는 신문에 수록된 글들에만 집중되어왔다. 그 이유는 신문 매체가 독자층이 다양하고 발간 빈도가 잦았기에 근대전환기를 대표할 수 있으리라는 기대 때문이다. 그러나 이 시기에는 활발한 대내외 활동을 기반으로 한 학회 및 협회의 기관지들 역시 융성하였다. 그럼에도 이 매체 및 텍스트에 관한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지지 못한 원인은 결국 학회지가 특정한 단체의 기관지라는 선입견 때문이라고 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 이 같은 시각을 극복하기 위하여 근대전환기 신문과 학회지에 수록된 모든 글들을 대상으로 하여 그 특징과 문학적 가능성을 살펴보고자 한다. 최근에 근대전환기 신문 매체에 대한 연구를 통하여 문학 텍스트의 폭과 대상이 확대될 수 있었던 이유는, 신문 매체에 수록된 여러 양식의 글들을 문학적 시각으로 바라보았기 때문이라고 할 수 있는데, 이는 사실 학회지에 수록된 글들에도 동일하게 적용될 수 있는 시각이다. 왜냐하면 신문 매체와 유사하게 학회지 역시, 단순히 학회 구성원만을 대상으로 하는 폐쇄적인 매체가 아니었으며, 다양한 형식과 내용의 글들이 폭넓게 수록되었기 때문이다. 본고는 이 같은 가능성을 전제로 하여 근대전환기 신문과 학회지에 수록된 다양한 글들을 대상으로 텍스트에 투영되고 수용된 문학 ‘서사체’를 확인하고 의미화 하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 기존 연구의 시각이 신문 매체에 수록된 글들에서 ‘문학적’ 요소들을 추출하여 ‘단형서사’라는 새로운 양식적 개념을 만들어 내고 있는데, 학회지에 수록된 글 역시 이 같은 시각으로 접근할 수 있으리라 판단했기 때문이다. 이를 위하여 본고에서 적용하고자 하는 개념은 어떠한 글을 문학적 ‘서사’로 만들어 낼 수 있는 근본적인 요소인 ‘서사체’이다. 기존의 ‘단형서사’가 서로 다른 성격과 특징을 지닌 글들을 하나의 특정한 목적 하에 묶고 양식화한 개념이기 때문에 각 글들이 가지고 있는 미시적 차이점을 확인하기 어렵게 한다면, ‘서사체’ 분석은 이를 문학적 일반성을 기반으로 하여 대상을 접근하는 방식이므로 텍스트들의 근본적인 집필 목적과 구성 원리까지를 함께 파악할 수 있는 장점이 있을 것이다. 또한 두 매체에 수록된 글들에서 추출된 ‘서사체’ 가운데 이 시기의 특수성을 반영하는 특징적인 것을 찾아낼 수 있다면, 근대전환기 서사 문학의 특징을 밝혀내는 데에 기여할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

        이광수 초기 소설 연구-결핍의 양상과 그 해소로서의 무정』의 의미

        The status of Chunwon Lee Guang-su in the history of Korean Literature has been controversial. A case in point is the debate over whether "Mujeong" is the first modern novel in Korea. So far, most studies on Chunwon's work have taken a macro approach and focused on the history of Korean Literature. As a result, the micro approaches to motif analysis and inner mechanism have been limited. In discussing the work of a novelist, the micro approach based on development and changes should be taken over the argument about its position in the history of literature. In this context, this paper focuses on looking at the inner mechanism of the characters in Chunwon's early works. The inner mechanism means the development of changes in the characters' desire and deficiency. Basically, there are two kinds of deficiencies in the works: love and knowledge deficiencies. His characters try to correct the deficiencies. The characters in his early short stories get frustrated because they have to choose one between the two with equivalent values. In "Mujeong", however, characters resolve the both by selecting one with the both values in a love triangle; male protagonist "Lee Hyung-sik" chooses "Kim Sun-hyung" and female protagonist "Park Young-chae" chooses "Kim Byung-guk". After all, Chunwon's characters are evolved to correct the deficiencies by choosing the integrated value in "Mujeong", which is in line with the main themes of his works: encouraging the idea of free love and education and enlightenment.         소설 코퍼스를 활용한 ‘서동산’의 소설 『염마』의 저자 판별

        This study aimed to distinguish authorship attribution of YeomMa (1934), the novel under the pseudonym Seo Dong-san, by applying a novel corpus. Studies of literature based on large-scale corpus can be carried out in two ways—via computerized stylistics, which is patterned by a quantitative approach to characteristics of style of the author based on the corpus, and via authorship attribution discrimination, which allows verification through the machinelearning method or similarity-based method by calculating the work with uncertainty of authorship in a quantitative manner. This study established a corpus of 70 works of 14 contemporary writers, and intended to distinguish authorship attribution by measuring similarity through the qualification test after extracting vocabulary with the morpheme analyzer. The key to discrimination of authorship attribution through the similarity-based method is based on the assumption that texts of the same author have more similarity in style than those of other authors. This study intended to verify the text with the highest similarity by comparing YeomMa , the novel of “Seo Dong-san,” with other works of distinct authors. The research result shows that Ready-made Life by Chae Mansik, which was written and published in the same year, is the work with the highest similarity. It is expected that the same research methodology will be applied in a more active manner in the future to discriminate works with only pseudonyms or anonymity. 본 연구는 소설 코퍼스(corpus)를 활용하여 필명 ‘서동산(Seo Dong San)’ 의 작품 『염마』(1934)가 어떤 작가의 것인지를 판별하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 대규모 코퍼스를 활용한 문학 연구는 크게 두 가지 방향으로 진행할 수 있는데, 그 하나는 작가의 문체적 특질을 코퍼스를 바탕으로 하여 계량적으로 접근하 여 유형화하는 전산문체론이며, 다른 하나는 저자가 불분명한 작품을 계량적 으로 환산하여 기계학습법이나 유사도를 통해 확인하는 저자 판별론이다. 본 연구는 근현대 소설 작가 14명의 작품 70편을 코퍼스로 구축하고 이를 형태소 분석기를 통하여 어휘를 추출한 후 자질 실험을 통해 유사도를 측정하여 작가 판별을 시도하였다. 유사도 기반의 접근법을 통한 저자 판별의 핵심은 동일한 저자의 텍스트들은 다른 저자의 텍스트보다 문체적으로 더 유사할 것이라는 가정을 바탕으로 한다. 본 연구는 ‘서동산’의 소설 『염마』를 저자가 확실한 14 명의 다른 작품들과 비교함으로써 가장 유사한 텍스트를 확인하고자 하였다. 그 결과 같은 해에 창작 발표된 채만식(Chae Man Sik)의 「레디메이드 인생」이 유사도 1위로 확인되었다. 이 같은 연구 방법론은 향후 필명만 확인되거나 작 자 미상의 작품들을 판별하는 데에 적극적으로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대 한다.
