The purpose of this study was to identigy the degree and the factors of fatigue and the relationship between the related factors in lung cancer patients on chemotherapy. This study was a survey study using a cross-sectional design. The subjects for this study were 42 lung cancer patients on chemotherapy who were admissioned in the seven general hospitals in Seoul. The duration of data collection was 2months. Data were collected through a questionnaire which is the Visual Analogue Sca1e-Fatigue developed by Lee et al (1990) and translated by Lee(1991). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics(mean, standard deviation, frequency, range), t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients. The result were as follows : 1. The mean fatigue score measured by the VAS-F was 3.47. 2. The characteristics of fatigue related factors : 1) The physiologic factor which included handicapped movement, loss of appetite, nausea, insomnia, pain, altered bowel continence, altered appearance scored from 4.12 to 3.17(5 Max), and this means the factors affected much just after the chemotherapy. 2) The psychological factor which included refreshing, comfortness, vitality, no depression, and self-efficacy ranged from 4.14 to 3.02, and this means the patients felt comfortable. 3) The cognitive & sensitivity factor which included sense in normal way, concentrate in ease, think clearly, accept in ease remember easily scored from 3.27 to 2.78, which was quite low level as for normal. 3. The relationship between fatigue factors showed a positive and strong correlation(p<.05). According to the finding of this study, fatigue was highly correlated with the factors as above. This indicates that nurses should try to assess and control these factors when patients complain of fatigue rather than just considering the factors. Moreover, Nursing has to develop effective nursing interventions to reduce fatigue in patients with chemotherapy using the relationship between fatigue and physiological, psychological and cognitive & sensitivity factors.

Anticoagulants used in the prevention of coagulation are various in kinds, but their appropriate choice is necessary for correct hematological examination. And immediate examination of blood should be done as soon as possible because delay of the examination of anticoagulated blood affects the morphology. Authors studied the effects of anticoagulants, EDTA and double oxalate, that are commonly used in hematology section of clinical pathology in Korea. Blood smears from two healthy male were made immediately without anticoagulation as well as 2, 4, 8 and 24 hours after collection using EDT A or double oxalate respectively. The results were as follows: 1. Morphological changes, such as cytoplasmic distortion and nuclear irregularity , lobulation or indentation, were evident in anticoagulated blood smears. 2. The morphological changes were more marked in anticoagulated blood with double oxalate. 3. The morpholigcal examination with auticoagulated blood should be performed at least within 2 hours after collection.
