Repetitive discourse and unfamiliar structure pose difficulty in drawing meaning from Kim Soo Young’s serial poems Sin Gui Geo Rae. This study draws upon Richard P. Blackmur’s Language as Gesture, which inspired the discourse and structure of Sin Gui Geo Rae. “Words” and “phrases” represent the gestures and psychological effects of poetic subjects. Then, the collaboration and counterpoint of phrases expand these gestures and psychological effects. Phrases also make units, and the accumulation of units helps build a structure that reflects changes in the gestures and psychological impacts of the poetic subjects. The "consciousness” of the poetic subject is in perpetual movement within a poem, and such movement takes place in accordance with the sequential arrangement of Sin Gui Geo Rae. This study investigates the inquiries suggested by the poetic subject and the steps taken to answer the inquiries in order to conclusively decode its network of meanings. 「신귀거래」는 반복적 언술과 시의 형태가 낯설어 해석의 어려움을 겪어 연작시로서 의미망을 해명하지 못했다. 이에 이 논문은 먼저 「신귀거래」의 언술과 형태를 촉발한 리챠드. P. 부락머의 「제스츄어로서의 言語」의 시작 원리를 해명한다.어구는 사전적 의미를 넘어서 시적 주체의 몸짓과 심리적 작용을 나타내며, 어구와 어구의 협력과 대위는 위의 몸짓과 심리적 작용의 의미를 확장한다. 또 어구들은 단위를 이루고, 단위의 반복을 통해 구조적 형태를 이루면서 주체의 몸짓과 심리적 작용과 변화를 그린다. 하나의 작품에서 시적 주체의 내면 의식은 계속해서 이동하는 것이다. 이러한 시적 주체의 내면 의식의 이동은 「신귀거래」작품의 순서에 따라서도 일어난다. 따라서 이 논문은 「신귀거래」의 시적 주체가 던진 문제와 문제해결 과정을 살펴 연작시로서 의미망을 해명한다.

This paper looks into the relationship between imaginative course and the education of verse with a view to applying imagination in the instruction of the appreciation of poetry. First of all, the imaginative process in cognitive psychology, that is, 'looking things as they are' → 'recentering' → 'projecting' → 'perceiving' → 'inner image' is given form as 'motivating' → 'intervening' → 'sympathetic manipulating' → 'evaluation,' which is the preparative process of teaching and studying. First, the process of motivation is the stage of activating susceptibility. It is predisposed to induce the students to receive stimulation and to increase sensory experiences in order to let the students guess at poetic circumstances. Second, the intervening process is the stage of readjusting views through imagination. It makes the students to conceive poetic circumstances as what is here and now to create fantasy of the poetic world. What follows next is to create images of the inner world via empathy. Sympathetic manipulation is the process of restructuring psychological experiences. This stage is the process of seeking poetic terms that give life to the dynamics of emotion and language that reminds one of images of the inner world. Fourth and last, evaluation is to test and grade the achievement of each step. The evaluating process is intended to be used as a reference material for detecting and correcting errors of the students of poetry.
