This paper presents a developed squirrel cage induction motor for axial flow fan. Nearly all of the induction motors for fan consists of two parts, rotor and stator, and the position of rotor is located inside of stator. This construction restricts the air flow rate, otherwise requires bending duct. But developed squirrel cage induction motor for axial flow fan exchanged the position each other. So, we can reduce the weight and size about 30%, and there are no bending duct to locate the fan motor.

The application of A.C. motor for servo system is rapidly increased according to the recent advance of power electronics and digital control techniques. The induction motor which has a simple structure and needs less maintenance has become to be used widely in the industrial field for the speed and position control recently. In this paper, the full-bridge resonant inverter is applied to the speed control of single phase inducting motor. The digital PID control algorithm is used and the control parameter is determined by the Zigler-Nichols transient response method. The speed control is carried out by the one chip micro-processor(intel EV 8097BH) and control program is developed by the assembly language. By the experimental result, it is confirmed that the speed of single phase induction motor driven by full bridge series inverter can be smoothly controlled by a digital PID controller.

In this paper, the current characteristic of the full-bridge resonant inverter is studied by comparing with the computer simulation and the laboratory experiment when the ratio of forced frequency to the natural frequency and the ratio of conduction time to the period at the given frequency is changed. And then, the full-bridge resonant inverter is applied to the speed control of single phase induction motor.
A Study on the Design of a Fuzzy Logic Governor for a Marine Diesel Engine

The propeller has better efficiency at lower rotational speed. This situation led engine manufactures to design marine diesel engines with lower speed. longer stroke and a small number of cylinders. As a consequence of this trend, conventional mechanical-hydraulic governors for the engine speed control have been replaced by digital speed controllers which adopted PID control, optimal control or adaptive control algorithms. However these control algorithms do not have the ability to suppress the variation of the delay-time and parameter perturbation. On the other hand, alternative control strategies such as fuzzy logic control have more flexibility to accommodate non-linear characteristics. This paper investigates the usefulness of fuzzy logic control(FLC) when applied as a governor of the marine diesel engine, and compares the control performance with a conventional PID controller through simulations. Characteristics to the problem considered is that of including a natural phenomenon among the factors which may affect control. More precisely, this paper centers on the application of fuzzy logic governor under heavy sea conditions. As a result, the designed fuzzy controller showed better control response and have a good robustness.

In this paper, a trajectory tracking problems using SMC(sliding mode control) is presented. In the conventional method. SMC has been applied to linear systems and the output matrix C has to satisfy a restrictive condition that CB is nonsingular. Under suitable assumptions, decoupling SMC can be adapted to remove the restriction mentioned above. The Proposed control strategy is applied to trajectory tracking control and simulations results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

This paper describes the development of the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system which can be controlled via the Internet. In this paper, the SCADA system is composed of a number of microprocessor-based RTU(Remote Terminal Unit)s, a MMI(Man Machine Interface) host, a SCADA server, and SCADA clients. There are two protocols used in the system. Each RUT and the MMI host are connected by a RS-485 line and CSMA/CD(Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection) protocol is used to communicate with each other. TCP/IC(Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) is used among the MMI host, the SCADA server, and SCADA clients. The equipments installed in the field are controlled by a number of RTUs. the function of MMI host is to acquire real-time data from RTUs and control them. The SCADA server supports data transfer between the networked MMI host and the SCADA client on the web-server through TCP/IP. Data transfer is possible regardless of the type of network only if there is TCP/IP Winsock_compatible stack driver. The SCADA client is implemented as the sharp of web-page by means of JAVA language. Therefore, it runs on a web-browser such as netscape and explorer, and allows a number of users to access this SCADA system..

In this paper, the current waveform and dynamic characteristics of the proposed system which is composed of a full bridge inverter and low pass LC filter is investigated through the results of computer simulation and experiment to find out the good performance of variable speed AC motor. By the experiment results, it is confirmed that the load current of pseudo sine waves is to be got by the proposed low pass LC filter and the speed of single phase AC motor driven by a full bridge inverter can be smoothly controlled by use of digital PID controller.

For the state feedback controller which measures only partial state variables, a state observer can be used to give the estimates of unmeasurable states. In this paper, the delayed state feedback method instead of the state observer for desingning a tracking controller of electro-hydraulic control system is presented. The controller design is based on augmenting the original system by one additional integral and proportional element which compensates for the effect of the integral control and on feeding back the measurable state variables and their delayed values. The performance of the proposed position control system is compared with both that of the full state feedback control system and that of the digital PID control system tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method and by the parameter readjustment through the computer simulation. And then robustness against unmeasurable constant disturbace and parameter variations during operations is also checked.
