        언어의 가변성과 비제어 다양체 분석

        A primary complication in linguistic studies is the high degree of variability observed in various aspects of languages. Excessive variability leads to failure to communicate (e.g. caused by overlap in phonemic categories). Lack of variability, on the other hand, can lead to excessive control, which can in turn lead to disfluency. A middle range of variability is not only benign but has been shown in several domains to provide flexibility that supports adaptation to novel circumstances. Although the studies that have begun to separate these kinds of variability have been performed in diverse domains, little has been done in languages. This study proposes to take advantage of advances in nonlinear dynamic systems analysis to partition non-structured variability into two classes: benign flexibility and destructive noise. We rely on two complementary approaches for quantifying flexibility. The method identifies those dimensions within a task space that affect the success of the task (the controlled manifold or CM) as well as those that vary without affecting the success of the task (the UCM). 언어 연구의 주요 난제는 언어의 다양한 면에서 관찰되는 높은 가변성 때문이다. 과도한 가변성은 (예를 들어음소 중복과 같은 현상때문에) 의사소통을 불가능하게 만든다. 반면, 가변성이 부족하면 과도한 통제로 인하여능숙하지 못하게 된다. 중간 정도의 가변성은 적절할 뿐 아니라 새로운 환경에 적응할 수 있게 하는 유연성을보장해 준다. 다양한 분야에서 이러한 가변성을 분리하는 연구에도 불구하고 언어 연구에는 거의 시도되지 않고있다. 본 연구는 비선형 역학 시스템 분석에서의 최신 연구를 이용하여 가변성을 좋은 가변성과 나쁜 가변성으로 분리하는 방법을 소개한다. 이 분석 방법을 통하여 가변성 공간을 두 개로 분리한다. 즉, 과제의 성공에 영향을 미치는 공간인 제어 다양체 공간과, 과제의 성공과는 무관한 공간인 비제어 다양체 공간으로 구분한다.

        The Application of Three-Dimensional Printed Finger Splints for Post Hand Burn Patients: A Case Series Investigation

        The application of three-dimensional (3D) printing is growing explosively in the medical field, and is especially widespread in the clinical use of fabricating upper limb orthosis and prosthesis. Advantages of 3D-printed orthosis compared to conventional ones include its lower cost, easier modification, and faster fabrication. Hands are the most common body parts involved with burn victims and one of the main complications of hand burns are finger joint contractures. Applying orthotic devices such as finger splints are a well-established essential element of burn care. In spite of the rapid evolution of the clinical use of 3D printing, to our knowledge, its application to hand burn patients has not yet been reported. In this study, the authors present a series of patients with hand burn injuries whose orthotic needs were fulfilled with the application of 3D-printed finger splints.

        Artificial neural networks(ANN) has provided a theoretical framework on the study of human behavior/cognition and artificial intelligence. This article aims to introduce ANN and its mathematical principle to the field of applied linguistics. An ANN consists of input, hidden, and output vectors and the vectors are connected to one another by weight matrices. Mapping from input to output is accounted for by simple matrix multiplication.

        The Interdisciplinary Nexus: The Role of Natural Sciences in Linguistic Studies

        This paper discusses the integration of physics and mathematics into linguistic studies, arguing that such an interdisciplinary approach enriches language understanding. It highlights the historical shift from an interdisciplinary study of language in the medieval era to a more segregated approach in the early modern period, which created a gap in linguistics, especially in incorporating natural science concepts. By examining scientific principles like function, differential equations, entropy, and linear algebra, the paper shows how these can improve our grasp of linguistic phenomena. It emphasizes the role of computational linguistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in language processing, demonstrating the benefits of neural networks in natural language processing and translation. Advocating for a return to interdisciplinary study, the paper envisions a future where linguistics leverages the natural sciences to become a more dynamic and comprehensive field, better equipped to address the complexities of language in modern society.

        문화·예술적 도시재생사업의 효과분석: 청주시 중앙동을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to confirm and interpret the impact and sustainability of the 「Cultural Arts Urban Regeneration Project」 through quantitative analysis and qualitative survey of monitoring indexes changes in the area of Sonamoo-gil, Jungang-dong, Cheongju-si. The core of the research method is divided into before the project (1st period : 2011∼2014), after the project (2nd period : 2015∼2018), and after the end of the project (3rd period : 2019∼2021). It is to compare and analyze before and after. As a result of the analysis, the floating population of Jungang-ro increased by about 64% after the project progressed, and decreased by about 66% after the project was completed. The vacancy rate at Jungang-ro decreased by 9.5%p when compared to the 1st and 2nd periods, and increased by 1.2%p after the end of the project. The official land price of Jungang-ro increased significantly to 1.59% in 2018 compared to the previous year, showing a higher value than the average of Cheongju in all periods. In conclusion, it is judged that the floating population and vacancy rate were temporarily positively affected by the urban regeneration project, and official land price is judged to show the effect of the business in 2018. In addition, the three indicators are judged to have negative results due to the lack of sustainable effects of the project and social impacts such as COVID-19 after the project was terminated.

        청주시 중앙동 도시재생사업 진행에 따른 시기별 변화 - 건축행위, 건축물의 용도, 공실률을 중심으로 -

        This study analyzed the changes in buildings by period in the urban space in the area of ​​Sonamoo-gil in Jungang-dong, Cheongju-si where various urban regeneration projects were carried out, and examined what kind of changes were induced depending on the characteristics and areas of the project. Through this, it was attempted to obtain implications for the direction of the urban regeneration project to revitalize the old downtown from the perspective of urban space. First, the detailed projects that took place in the site were organized by period and zone, and as a result of dividing the Jungang-dong urban regeneration project site into a total of 6 zones, at the beginning of the project, changes in buildings appeared mainly in the area adjacent to the existing commercial district and the area where the project was concentrated. The influence can be seen to be gradually shifting to the neighboring areas. In addition, it is judged that the changes caused by the urban regeneration project have an overall effect rather than a concentrated increase. Looking at the results of the analysis by period, gradual effects appeared as urban regeneration began, and various positive changes appeared after 2015, when physical, functional, and social urban regeneration projects were complex. It is thought that the results of this study can be used as basic data for effective discussion of the planning and implementation stages of urban regeneration projects.

        경영자 보상 민감도가 연구개발비 지출에 미치는 영향

        This study examines the effects of CEO(or Management) compensation sensitivity on R&D costs. Traditionally, R&D costs is used for earnings management. In previous studies, the main factors for R&D costs are analyzed as firm characteristics and industry characteristics. However, since the CEO decides R&D costs at CEO discretion, the key factor in the R&D costs factor is the CEO's motivation. Therefore, this study examines the effect of CEO's compensation sensitivity on R&D costs. As a result of the empirical analysis of this study, CEO's show differences according to the method of R&D costs according to the compensation structure. This directly shows that CEO's actively use R&D costs for their own private interest. This study empirically analyzed that the method of R&D costs differs according to the management compensation structure.

        현장정재하시험을 이용한 말뚝 거동특성 수치해석 예측기법의 신뢰성 검증

        수치해석기법을 이용한 말뚝의 거동특성 예측방법은 정재하시험비가 고가이기 때문에 공사 전 말뚝의 거동을 예측할 수 있다는 장점으로 설계단계에서 널리 이용되고 있지만 그 신뢰성에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 실제 현장에서 말뚝의 거동과 수치해석으로 예측한 말뚝의 거동을 비교함으로써 수치해석 기법의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 지반과 말뚝의 상호작용에 의한 말뚝의 거동을 정확하게 파악하기 위하여 정재하시험이 수행되는 지반에서 시추조사, 현장원위치시험 등을 통해 지반특성을 확인하였고, 실규모 정재하시험을 수행하여 말뚝의 거동특성을 분석하였다. 정재하시험이 수행된 방식과 동일하게 수치해석을 모사하여 재하시험과 동일한 하중단계에서 말뚝의 거동을 수치해석으로 모사하여 현장시험 결과와 비교함으로써 수치해석 기법의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. Numerical analysis method for prediction of pile behaviour characteristics has widely been used in detail design process before construction because field static loading test requires high cost. However, the reliability verification of numerical analysis of result is not permitted compare with field test. In this study, to verify the numerical analysis results, pile behaviour prediction was compared with field static loading test results. For exact analysis of interaction between pile and ground, soil investigation and in-situ test such as boring, SPT and bore-hole shear test were performed before pile static loading test. During the static loading test, pile behaviour characteristics were analyzed under every loading condition. After static pile loading test, numerical analysis was carried out under same condition with static pile loading test. In the numerical analysis, to apply same loading condition with each loading condition in the field test and to compare with between the results of numerical analysis, the field test results for reliability were verified with the results of numerical analysis.
