      • IPS Empress 도재관의 파절강도 : 하악 중절치에서 절단연 삭제량과 측면 경사도에 따른 영향

        The purpose of this study was to compare the fracture strength of the IPS Empress ceramic crown according to the incisal depth (1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm) and axial inclination (4˚, 8˚, 12˚) of the lower central ncisor. After 10 metal dies were made for each group, the IPS Empress ceramic crowns were fabricated and each crown was cemented on each metal die with resin cement. The cemented crowns mounted on the testing jig were inclined 30 degrees and a universal testing machine was used to measure the fracture strength. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The fracture strength of the ceramic crown with 2.0mm depth and 12˚ inclination was the highest (648 N). Crowns of 1.5mm depth and 4˚ inclination had the lowest strength (482 N). 2. There were no significant differences of the fracture strength by axial inclination in same incisal depth group. 3. The fracture mode of the crowns was similar. Most of fracture lines began at the loading area and extended through proximal surface perpendicular to the margin irrespective of incisal depth. There had correlation between fracture strength and fractured surface area.

      • 시멘트의 두께에 따른 IPS Empress 도재의 색조 변화에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to compare color change of IPS Empress ceramic according to cement thickness. IPS Empress ceramic specimens (diameter 12㎜, thickness 1.4㎜) were prepared according to manufacturer's instruction. IPS Empress ceramic specimens were cemented with Variolink Ⅱ cement (shade Al, A3, A4, Vivadent, Liechtenstein) to acrylic plate (Tamiya, Japan). Resin cement thicknesses were 10, 30, 50, 100μm which were made by a micrometer(Mitutoyo, Japan). Color change of the cemented specimens were measured with a colorimeter(Model TC-6Fx, Tokyo Denshoku Co.). The obtained results were as follows 1. L^* value of A3 and A4 groups decreased according to increasing cement thickness(p<0.05). L^* value of Al group increased according to increasing cement thickness(p<0.05). 2. a^* value of Al group decreased according to increasing cement thickness(p<0.05). 3. b^* value of Al, A3, A4 groups increased according to increasing cement thickness(p<0.05). 4. AE value of Al group decreased according to increasing cement thickness(p<0.05). These results suggest that the thickness of cement might be related to the color change in IPS Empress ceramics.

      • 열중합 의치상 레진과 자가 중합 경질 이장재의 결합강도에 관한 비교 연구

        Removable partial denture and complete denture often require denture base relines to improve the fitness aginst tissue-bearing mucosa because of the gradual change in edentulous ridge contour and resorption of underlying bony structure. Self-curing hard relining resin offer the immediate and relatively inexpensive means directly to recondition denture base surface. But weak bond between denture . base resin and reline material could harbor bacteria, promote staining, or result in complete separation of the two materials. The purpose of this study was to estimate the bond strength between Vertex denture base resin and 3 kind of self-curing hard reline materials(TokusoRebase, Mild Rebaron, DuraBase). Denture base resin beams(3.0×15.0×60.0㎜) were made with Vertex resin. After that, the section was removed in legth of 10mm from the center of each specimen. The samples were replaced in the molds and the space of 10mm sections were packed with reline materials. This study was conducted to estimate the bond stregth of self-curing hard reline materials to heat-curing denture base resin by use of UTM(Universal Testing Machine). The obtained results were as follows; 1) The bonding strength of TokusoRebase and Mild Rebaron to Vertex denture base resin was higher than that of DuraBase. 2) There was no effect of thermocycling on the 3-point tmasverse flexural strength of all self-curing hard reline materials. 3) The failure modes of TokusoRebase, Mild Rebaron, were mainly cohesive failure, but Dura Base were mainly showed adhesive failure.
