        질경이가 실험적으로 유발된 흰쥐의 위염 및 위궤양에 미치는 영향

        본 실험에서는 흰쥐에서 실험적으로 급성위염, 위궤양 및 십이지장궤양을 유발하고 질경이 에칠아세테이트분획을 투여하여 항위염 및 항위궤양작용에 미치는 영향을 검토하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 질경이 에탄올추출물을 n-hexane, chloroform, ethylactae 및 n-butanol로 계통분획하고 농축하여 in vitro에서 항산화력을 측정한 결과 ethylacetate분획이 가장 우수하였다. 2. 질경이 에칠아세테이트분획(PEL 및 PEH)은 HCl-ethanol에 의한 위점막 손상에서 대조군(CON)에 비하여 각 용량별로 55.7% 및 62.1%의 유의적인 항위염작용을 나타냈으며, 특히 고용량투여군인 PEH의 경우 양성 대조약물투여군(60.5%)보다 우수한 효과를 나타냈다. 3. Indomethacin에 의해 유발된 위궤양에서, PEL 및 PEH는 양성 대조약물군인 CMT의 위궤양 억제율(61.6%)에는 다소 미치지 못하였으나 CON에 비하여 유의성있는 억제효과를 나타냈다. 4. Shay위궤양에서, 질경이 에칠아세테이트분획 200 ㎎/㎏을 십이지장에서 위내로 투여하였을 때 궤양억제율이 37.9%로 CON에 비하여 Shay위궤양을 억제하였으나 유의성있는 효과는 아니었으며 용량을 증량하여 투여한 PEH(400 ㎎/㎏)는 48.9%로 양성 대조약물인 omeprazol를 투여한 OMP의 저해효과(55.6 %)에 근접하였다. 5. 질경이의 에틸아세테이트분획을 용량별로 투여했을 때 위액의 pH가 대조군에 비해 약간의 감소되었으나 정상 범위내로 유의성은 인정되지 않았고 양성 대조약물군인 OMP는 유의적으로 위액의 pH를 유의성있게 감소시켰다. 위액량 및 총 위산분비량의 경우, 대조군에 비하여 PEL 및 PEH가 각각 33.8%와 38.7%의 감소효과를 나타냈으나 유의성은 없었으며 양성 대조약물인 omeprazol만큼 뚜렷한 효과는 볼 수 없었다. 6. Pepsin활성에서, 질경이 에틸아세테이트분획과 양성 대조약물투여로 pepsin 활성이 대조군에 비해 각각 약 17%, 22% 및 24%의 활성저해 효과를 나타냈으나 전군에서 유의성있는 변화는 아니었다. 7. 구속ㆍ수침스트레스에 의해 유발된 궤양의 경우, PEL 및 PEH에서도 출혈을 동반한 궤양이 관찰되었으나 CON에 비하여 궤양의 깊이가 다소 얕았지만 유의적인 효과는 아니었다. 양성 약물대조군의 경우 궤양의 형성이 CON과 PEL 및 PEH에 비하여 궤양형성의 부분이 다소 적었으나 점상출혈이 존재하였다. 8. Cysteamine에 의해 유발된 십이지장궤양에서, CMT가 52.2%의 유의한 궤양억제율을 나타냈고 PEH의 경우 유의성은 없었으나 약 43%의 궤양억제율을 나타냈다. Plantain has been used for antidiarrhea, antihemorrhage and the remedy of indigestion. Plantain was extracted with ethanol and fractionated systemically with n-hexane, chloroform, ethylacetate (EtOAC) and nbutanol. Antioxidant index (AI was expressed as induction period of oil containing various fractions/induction period of oil of 600 ppm) of EtOAC fraction was the highest among fractions in vitro. The protective effects of the EtOAC fraction of plantain (PE) administered 1 mL orally or intraduodenally on experimentally induced gastritis, gastric ulcer and gastric secretion were evaluated in rats. Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 250~300 g were divided into 4 groups; negative control group (CON), PE 200 ㎎/㎏ treated group (PEL), PE 400 ㎎/㎏ treated group (PEH) and positive control group (cimetidine 100 ㎎/㎏-CMT or omeprazol 100 ㎎/㎏ treated group-OMT), respectively. PE significantly suppressed HCl-ethanol induced gastric lesions and indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers (administered subcutaneouly) in rats. Specially PE 400 ㎎/㎏ showed significantly inhibitory effect, which was more potent than that of 100 ㎎/㎏ of commercial drug, cimetidine, and elevated an inhibitory effect to be close to the level in inhibitory ratio of omeprazol administered group in Shay's ucler. On gastric secretion in pylorus ligated rat, PE 200 ㎎/㎏ and 400 ㎎/㎏ decreased the gastric volume and acid output, but did not show an apparent effect on pepsin activity. In addition, PE 400 ㎎/㎏ depressed gastric ulcers induced by water immersion stress and duodenal ulcers induced by cysteamine administered subcutaneouly. These results suggest that the ethylacetate fraction of plantain can be used in prevention and treatment of experimentally induced gastric mucosal damage and ulcers.

        유채박 추출물의 피부미용 효과에 관한 연구

        This research was to investigate the inhibitory effects of tyrosinase, elastase and collagenase using rapeseed meal extract for the functional cosmetics. Gamma-tocopherol and alpha-tocopherol contents were 304.9 and 212.2 mg/kg, respectively. In the case of delta-tocopherol and plastochromanol-8, they were 12.1 and 35.7 mg/kg, respectively. The total phenol content of methanol extract was the highest (49.6 mg/g) which was about 4.96 fold higher than that of water extract. The maximum nitrite scavenging activities of methanol and acetone extract at pH 1.2 were 85.2 and 80.1%, respectively, at 8.0 mg/mL. When the extract concentration of rapeseed meal increased upto 2.0 mg/mL, cell viabilities did not appear to have any significant cytotoxic effect, irrespective of extracts. Tyrosinase and elastase inhibition activities increased from 25.2 to 42.5% and 25.3 to 48.0%, respectively, as methanol extract concentration increased from 0.5 to 1.0 mg/mL. The collagenase inhibition activities of methanol and acetone extracts at 1.0 mg/mL were 67.2 and 68.0%, respectively. These results showed that the methanol and acetone extract of rapeseed meal can be used as a new source of functional cosmetic agent.

        결명자 에탄올추출물이 알코올 투여 흰쥐의 항산화물질 및 지질대사에 미치는 영향

        결명자 에탄올추출물이 알코올을 투여한 흰쥐의 간손상에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해, 정상군, 결명자 에탄올추출물(200 mg/kg)투여군, 알코올 투여군(35% ethanol 10 mL/kg, b.w./day), 알코올 및 결명자 에탄올추출물(200 mg 및 400mg/kg) 병합투여군 등 5군으로 나누어 6주간 사육후 체중증가율, 식이효율 및 혈액중 총 콜레스테롤, HDL-콜레스테롤 및 LDL-콜레스테롤농도, 혈청중 ALT 및 AST활성, 간손상 억제 효과를 확인하기 위해 유리기 해독계 효소인 SOD, catalase, GSH-Px 등의 활성과 유리기 생성계 효소인 XO활성을 측정하고, 지질과산화물인 TBARS 및 GSH함량에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 1) 각 분획구의 항산화력은 n-핵산>클로르포름>에틸아세테이트>물>메탄올 순이었다. 2) 결명자 에탄올추출물과 알코올을 병합투여하므로서 체중증가율은 알코올만을 투여한 군에 비하여 유의적인 변화는 아니었으나 증가되는 경향을 보였으며 식이효율은 정상군의 치에 근접하게 증가되었다. 3) 간 손상의 지표의 하나인 혈청 중 ALT 및 AST활성의 경우, 알코올 투여로 정상군에 비하여 유의적으로 증가되었으나 결명자 에탄올추출물을 병합투여하므로서 정상군보다 오히려 낮았다. 4) 알코올 투여로 총 콜레스테롤 및 LDL-콜레스테롤함량은 정상군에 비하여 많이 증가되었으나 결명자 에탄올추출물 병합투여로 투여량이 증가됨에 따라 더욱 우수한 감소효과를 나타내었다. 반면 HDL-콜레스테롤함량은 알코올 투여로 정상군에 비하여 유의적으로 감소되었으나 결명자 에탄올추출물 병합투여로 정상군의 농도에 근접하게 증가되었는데, 특히 결명자 에탄올추출물만을 투여한 군의 함량이 정상군보다 높았다. 5) 결명자 에탄올추출물이 알코올 투여로 상승된 유리기 생성계효소인 XO활성은 알코올만을 투여한 군에 비하여 약 42%정도 현저하게 감소시켰으나, 유리기 해독계 효소인 SOD, catalase 및 GSHPx 활성에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 못했다. 6) 알코올 투여로 증가된 간 중의 TBA반응성 산물량을 결명자 에탄올추출물이 유효하게 감소시켰으며, 특히 결명자 에탄올추출물만을 투여한 군의 간 TBA 반응성 산물량이 정상군보다 오히려 낮았다. 7) 알코올 섭취로 간조직 중의 GSH함량이 정상군에 비하여 약 51%정도 감소되었으나 결명자 에탄올추출물투여로 정상군의 함량에 근접하도록 증가되었다. 이상의 실험 결과에서 결명자 에탄올추출물의 항산화작용은 주로 알코올투여로 증가된 유리기 생성계 효소인 XO활성억제와 비효소적 항산화작용을 나타내는 GSH함량을 증가시키므로서 지질과 산화물에 대한 방어력이 증강되어 나타난 결과로 여겨지고, 또한 혈청중 지질함량, ALT 및 AST의 활성을 유의성있게 감소시켰음은 결명자 에탄올추출물이 알코올에 의한 지방간 또는 손상된 간세포를 회복시키는 작용이 있는 것으로 추정된다. This study was done to investigate the effects of ethanol extract of Cassia semen (Cassia tora L.) on the activities of hepatic oxygen free radicals metabolizing enzymes and blood lipid profile in rats of hepatotoxicity induced by ethanol. Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 100~160 g were divided into 5 groups; control group (CON), Cassia semen ethanol extracts (200 mg/kg) treated group (CEL), ethanol (10 mL/kg, 35%) treated group (ETH), Cassia semen ethanol extracts (200 mg/kg) and ethanol treated group (CE1) and Cassia semen ethanol extracts (400 mg/kg) and ethanol treated group (CE2), respectively. Compared with ETH, the growth rate of CE1 and CE2 were to be increased tendency, and in blood levels of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and the activities of alanine aminotranferase and asparate aminotransferase elevated by ethanol were significantly decreased (p<0.05). It was observed that the activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase, xanthine oxidase and glutathione peroxidase of rat liver increased by ethanol, were more decreased by the treatment of Cassia semen ethanol extract than the only ethanol-treated group. The content of glutathione depleted by ethanol treatment was increased in CE1 and CE2. TBA-reactants of liver increased by ethanol were decreased in CE1 and CE2, compared with ethanol-treated group. These results suggested that ethanol extract of Cassia semen may influence upon the ability of oxygen free radical detoxication and lowering of blood lipid level on ethanol-induced hepatotoxicity in rat.

        The aim of this study was to examine the effects of aesthetic consciousness, interest in appearance, and appearance management on stress in high school students using Pearson`s correlation analysis. The 850 students in Gwangju and Jeonnam were served as the subjects and the questionnaires of a total of 60 items and 5-point Likert scale were used. The internal beauty was positively correlated with the social, study, and concentration factors but negatively correlated with the parent-child relationship and physical factors. The appearance management and interest in appearance were positively correlated with all factors. The effects of aesthetic consciousness, appearance management, and interest in appearance on stress using step-wise multiple regression analysis were investigated. The social factor of stress was affected by the appear-ance consciousness, management awareness, and internal beauty. The appearance consciousness and appearance changes were affected by the parent-child relationship factor of stress and its explanation power was 2.7%. In the case of the phys-ical factor of stress, it was affected by the appearance consciousness and its explanation power was 6.9%. The academic achievement factor of stress was affected by the management awareness, appearance consciousness, and appearance changes and its explanation power was 4.3%. The concentration factor of stress was strongly affected by the management awareness, management attitudes, hair styles, and appearance consciousness and its explanation power was 7.8%. Based on the results, being overly conscious of appearance and being active in changes were highly correlated with stress factors.

        갯장어껍질 열수 추출물의 항산화 효과

        For the development of functional food and cosmetics using hot water extract of Muraenesox cinereus’s skin, contents of vitamin, amino acid and element, and antioxidant activity were investigated. The results are shown as follows: among vitamins, A(0.21mg/100 g), C (78.12mg/ 100 g), D3 (0.03 mg/100 g), E (1.97 mg/100 g) and Niacin (2.53mg/100 g) were detected, respectively.Mineral contents were an order of K > P > Na >Mg > Ca > Fe and Zn. Contents of total amino acids were an order of Pro > Gly > Arg > Glu > Phe > Ala. Especially, the sum of total amino acids was 27.17 mg/100 mL, which was about 4.0 fold higher than that of free amino acid. DPPH radical scavenging activity of hot water extract of M. cinereus’s skin at 25 mg/mL was 63.5% and did not increase at above 50 mg/mL. Activities of antioxidant enzymes in the liver of ethanol-treated rats using hot water extract of M. cinereus’s skin were investigated. Compared to control group, activities of ADH and GSH-px were decreased. In the case of CAT and SOD activity, they were increased. These results showed that the hot water extract of M. cinereus’s skin can be applied to raw macterial for functional food and cosmetics.

        미역 열수 추출물의 항산화 및 아질산 제거효과

        For the development of functional food and cosmetics using the hot water extract of Undaria pinnatifida, the concentrations of vitamin, amino acid and element and activities of antioxidant and nitrite scavenging were investigated. The results are shown as follows: Vitamin C and E concentrations were 0.301 and 0.11 mg/100 g, respectively. Mineral concentrations were an order of Ca > Mg > K > Fe. The concentrations of total amino acids were an order of Glu > Ala > Val > Leu > Gly > Pro. Total phenol concentration and DPPH radical scavenging activity were increased with the increase of the concentration of extract. Especially, when the extract concentrationwas increased from 1.0 to 10.0 mg/mL, the total phenol concentration was increased from 0.043 to 0.125 OD 725 nm. DPPH radical scavenging activity at 50 mg/mL was 70.1%. The antioxidant activity of extract was stable in range of 80 to 140℃ and pH 3-9. The nitrite scavenging activity was increased with the decreaseof pH and the increase of it’s extract concentration. Especially, it was 83.4% at 50 mg/mL (pH 1.2). These results showed that the hot water extract of U. pinnatifida can be applied to functional food and cosmetics.

        고주파요법과 갯장어 추출물 병행처리가 남성피부에 미치는 영향

        This study aimed to examine the treatment effect of Muraenesox cinereus extract product combined with high frequency on men’s damaged skin. The subjects were treated by a product containing M. cinereus extract combined with high frequency therapy for six weeks and tested in skin condition. First, for moisture level change, there was no significant difference between the control group treated only by high frequency therapy and the experimental group treated by a M. cinereus extract product combined with high frequency therapy. But the subjects who increased consistently in moisture level in the cheek and chin were more common in the experimental group. Second, for an oil level, prominently high increase was found in both the control group and the experimental group. Finally, for a rough level, while there was little difference in the control group between immediately after peeling and after six weeks, high improvement effect on a curve was found in the experimental group. Based on this result, cosmetics using M. cinereus extract may have a positive effect on men’s skin which is exposed to several stress factors. Accordingly, this result will contribute to developing men’s functional cosmetics.

        숭어 추출물을 이용한 주름개선 효과

        This study was to suggest the method for wrinkle improvement using Mugil cephalus extract. In order to evaluate the cosmetic product made of M. cephalus extract, the experiments were conducted with subjects and skin states for 4 weeks. Effect of cosmetics containing M. cephalus extract on the water holding capacity and evaporation of the women skin were investigated. The water holding capacity was increased after 1 h of application. But after 2 h, it was decreased. In the case of the water evaporation, it was increased with the increase of time. On the clinical trial, it was also found that water, oil, and rough level on the women skin were increased and wrinkles were improved. Side effects were also not detected during the application and treatment of cosmetics. Based on this result, the application of M. cephalus extract had positive effects on the improvement of wrinkles and skin in women. Therefore, it will be used to develop the wrinkle improvement therapy for women.
