Samsung Medical Center(SMC) opened in 1994 and it has been a leader in customer service since then. It received Korea Service Award five times consecutively and was inducted into Korea Service Award Hall of Fame in 2006. This paper tries to introduce SMC`s best practices in customer service. It also argues that SMC is using customer service 5trategically and at the same time customer service is an important vehicle for implementing business strategy. As Porter(l996) asserted, SMC`s “competitive advantage comes from the way its activities fit and reinforce one another.” SMC`s competitive advantage is provision of differentiated medical services via best medical performance and best customer service And key success factors are stale-of - the - art medical information system, best doctors and muses, productive employees, short staying period of inpatients. short staying time of outpatients. convenient appointment system, and high utilization rate of equipments.

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference of spatial factors and foot pressure distribution of chronic stroke suffers while they walk. The study involved 17 stroke patients who are able to walk independently. The corresponding t-test was used in order to determine the difference between the peak pressure, active area, peak time, stride length, and step length. There was no significant difference between the affected and unaffected sides for stride length or step length (p>0.05). There was a significant difference of peak pressure on the forefoot (p<0.05). However the midfoot and the hindfoot showed no significant difference of peak pressure (p>0.05). The study also found significant differences for the peak area and the peak time on the medial area of the forefoot and midfoot (p<0.05). There was no difference between the affected and the unaffected side while walking. Nonetheless there was a difference between the affected and the unaffected side at the forefoot, which reduced the patients’walking speed. It is my hope, that by applying walking training, I can help establish an effective therapeutic strategy to increase the walking speed of stroke patients.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a body strengthening and movement-based exercise program on chronic stroke patients. There was an emphasis on any changes to the patients’ pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength, cardiorespiratory function, and their ability to walk. Twenty patients, 11 males and 9 females, performed trunk muscle exercises and mobility exercises twice a week for 8 weeks. The subjects had their pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength measured before and after the exercise program. These data were then evaluated using a paired t-test. A Pearson’s correlation coefficient was also performed to investigate any connection between walking and cardiopulmonary function after the exercise program. It was decided to set the significance level at α=0.05. Pulmonary function (FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC%) and respiratory muscle strength (MIP, MEP) were significantly increased (p<0.05) by the exercise program. As for the effects on walking; 10m walking, velocity, and cadence were significantly changed (p<0.05). However, no significant difference in step time differential and step length differential (p>0.05) were found. Futhermore, the study discovered a positive correlation between velocity and respiratory muscle strength. In conclusion, a body strengthening and movement-based exercise program is an effective way to improve pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength, and walking ability in chronic stroke patients.
Single Ion Conducting Composite Protective Layer for Reversible Li Metal Batteries
Hee-Tak Kim(김희탁) 한국고분자학회 2021 한국고분자학회 학술대회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.46 No.1
To achieve high performance Li metal batteries, Li+ transport and reductive electrolyte decomposition at Li metal electrode should be controlled. However, most of technologies have failed to concurrently handle them. In this presentation, we report a high-performance Li metal battery by exploiting the interface of ceramic and polymeric single ion conductor. In a hybrid single-ion conducting layer, space charge of Li+ induced by the hetero-junction of the two phases constitutes unique Li+ structure with high mobility along the interface, providing various principles to control Li plating/stripping and electrolyte decomposition. As a protective layer for Li metal electrode, it significantly enhances the reversibility of Li metal electrode and achieves compelling cycle life.
