Essential thrombocythemia, also known as a hemorrhagic thrombocythemia or essential throbocytosis is a primary myeloproliferative disorder in which the predominant laboratory features is a persistent, striking elevation of the platelet count. It is frequently associated with thrombosis and hemorrhage. We experienced one case of E.T who was a 33 yeyar old female admitted via OPD with fever, chill and burning pain in the feet, with confirmed by biopsy of bone marrow, repeated LAP score and chromosomal analysis.
이동 보상과 분류 벡터 양자화기를 이용한 영상 부호화에 관한 연구 (Ⅰ: 이론및 모의실험)

This paper describes an interframe image coding using motion compensated and classified vector quantizer (MC-CVQ). It is essential to carefully encode blocks with significant pels in motion compensated vector quantizers (MCVQ). In this respect, we propose a new CVQ algorithm which is appropriate to the coding of interframe prediction error after motion compensation. In order to encode an image efficiently at a low bit rate, we partition each block, which is the processing element in MC, into equally sized 4 vectors, and classify vectors into 15 classes according to the position of significant pels. Vectors in each class are then encoded by the vector quantizer with the codebook independently designed for the class. The computer simulation shows that the signal-to-noise ratio and the average bit rate of MC-CVQ are 35-37dB and 0.2-0.25bit/pel, respectively, for the videophone or video conference type image. 본 논문에서는 이동보상과 분류 벡터양자화기를 이용한 화면각 부호화방법을 제안하였다. 이동보상벡터양자화방식에서는 중요화소를 포함하는 블록을 효과적으로 부호화하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 관점에서, 이동보상후에 나타나는 화면간 예측오차에 적합한 분류법을 갖는 새로운 CVQ 알고리듬을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 저 전송율에서 영상을 효과적으로 부호화하기 위하여 이동보상에서 처리단위인 블록을 4개의 크기가 같은 벡터로 나누고, 각 벡터들을 벡터내의 중요화소의 위치에 따라 15부류로 분류하여 각기 독립적으로 제작된 부호책에 따라 벡터양자화기로 부호화하였다. 컴퓨터 모의실험 결과에서 영상회의와 영상전화와 같은 상대적으로 움직임이 적은 영상에 대하여, 평균 비트율이 0.2~0.25 bit/pel에서 35~37dB의 신호대 잡음비를 얻었다.

(–)‐Cannabidiol (CBD), a nonpsychoactive compound isolated from the Cannabis genus, has recently emerged as a promising research subject in neuroscience due to its potential therapeutic benefits against neurological disorders. However, there has been limited fundamental understanding of how CBD affects neuronal development, such as neurite outgrowth and axonal branching, at the cell level. This work investigates the effects of CBD on the early development of primary hippocampal neurons in a noncontact neuron‐astrocyte coculture system. The immunocytochemical and quantitative analyses indicate that CBD of 10 μM promotes neurite growth, including neurite elongation and arborization, and accelerates the process of axon specification. The CBD treatment to the coculture system leads to noticeable increases in the longest‐neurite length, primary‐neurite number, and branch‐point number, as well as the population of axon‐determined neurons. The results provide informative insights into the therapeutic potential of CBD in neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease. N/A Heart rate variability is a noninvasive index of the neural, especially parasympathetic, activity of the heart. Autonomic neuropathy is frequently observed in diabetic patients, and a 5-year survival rate of this kind of patient is low. To evaluate autonomic neuropathy in diabetic patients, 35 diabetic patients (proliferative retinopathy: 14, neurogenic bladder:8, postural hypotenion:6) measured for RR intervals and Valsalva ratios compared with 77 persons of the normal control group. RR variations (standard deviation: SD, coefficient of variation: CV, max-min, max/min) during deep respiration and Valsalva ratios (Vmax-Vmin, Vmax/Vmin) during Valsalva maneuver were significantly lower in the diabetic patients than in the normal control group (p<0.001, respectively). RR variations and Valsalva ratios decreased progressively with an increase of age in the control group and in diabetic patients (p<0.001, respectively). RR variations and Valsalva ratios were significantly lower in the diabetic patients with retinopathy, neurogenic bladder, and postural hypotension compared to diabetic patients without such conditions (P value <0.01, <0.05, <0.05, respectively). It is concluded that diabetic autonomic neuropathy can be indicated by the measurement of RR variations and Valsalva ratios.
