Background and Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to review the recent achievements on SDPTG and suggest SDPTG studies. Methods: The study papers related with SDPTG, published in foreign countries and Korea up to the present, were collected by internet search & journal. And then the collected papers were classified and summarized. Results and Conclusion: SDPTG provides informations of arterial elasticity and stiffness. thus, SDPTG could contribute to development of pulse wave diagnosis of oriental medicine.

Objectives This study shows feasibility and suitability of a microelectromechanical system inertial measurement unit(MEMS-IMU) as a helpful measurement device for evaluating movement system impairment syndrome. Methods We reviewed articles of two fields in this study. First, we reviewed articles about movement system impairment syndrome(MSIS) as a brand new viewpoint of diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal pain. Second, we reviewed articles about conventional motion analysis system and inertial measurement unit(IMU) to show the superiority of IMU in analyzing the human movement. All papers were searched by SciVerse, world largest search engine and database about many academic fields including engineering and medicine. Results Some physical quantities of human motions can be useful to the diagnosis of MSIS, and those data can be obtained by the MEMS-IMU without the weak points of the conventional motion analysis systems. Conclusions Using MEMS-IMU as a measurement unit for diagnosing and evaluating MSIS is feasible and can be extended to many further studies.

Objectives There are four types of diagnostic methods in Oriental medicine, and visual inspection is the first method among them. This study was written in order to complement further understanding on visual inspection. Methods The authors reviewed a word related with visual inspection in Nei-Ching. The authors researched static words such as bigger/smaller, longer/shorter, slower/faster, curved/straight, one-sided/fair, and groove/uplift, and active words such as extension and contraction, shake, tremor, slow, fast, walk, run, standing, lying, and sitting related with visual inspection in Nei-Ching. Results The static words linked with visual inspection are related with skin, muscles, fat, and especially the liver, stomach, and large intestine. The active words linked with visual inspection are related with movement of muscles, fat, and bone. Conclusion In this study, the authors provided further understanding on visual inspection in Nei-Ching. However, there was no clear reference point about appearances and movements.
