        ESL 교사-학생간 작문상담의 기관적 대화 특성 연구

        This study investigates institutional characteristics of a teacher-student talk in an ESL writing conference. Unlike a typical institutional talk, the student in this conversation had a higher level of academic status and professional knowledge than the ESL teacher. The talk was analyzed using a conversation analytic method and ethnographic observation. The results showed that despite the atypical knowledge levels and relationships between the teacher and the student, their shared social knowledge regarding the goal of the writing conference helped the teacher successfully utilize the student's knowledge for her pedagogic purpose. Thus, this study demonstrates that orientation toward the core goal is the primary characteristic of institutional talk.

        The 4th Industrial Revolution and Need for Community

        The Fourth Industrial Revolution has brought innovative learning tools and platforms, but at the same time it has posed challenges in K-16 education, particularly with regard to the social and emotional aspects of students. According to the Scripture, just as relationality is the essence of the triune God, so is relationship integral for humankind. Human beings are created to be in community with the triune God and with other human beings. When this need for being in relation and community is not met, students may encounter mental and socio-emotional problems. This article suggests building a sense of Christian community in the classroom and by extension to the church as one possible solution to the increasingly prevalent social and emotional problems, such as loneliness, lack of empathy, anxiety, and depression, in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

        외국산 따개비류의 한국내 침입

        Three species of foreign barnacles were found to invade into Korean interitidal seashores: Balanus amphitrite, B. ebumeus and B. improvisus. The southeastern coast of Korea, near Pusan, is the area where all the specimens of three species were discovered and the populations of these species were well establishe. B. amphitrite is the earliest invader(probably invaded around early 1970's) and most widely distributed in Korea. It is now distributed all around Korea, except the Yellow Sea coast, north of Mokpo. B. improvisus has been successful to expand its reange to the northern part of Korean coast of the East Sea, whereas B. eburneus is restricted to the southeastern coast. B. amphitrite is successfully competing with the native barnacle, B. albicostatus, and in several areas where the mixed populations of the two species occur, the latter species is found to excluded. The Yellow Sea coast has not been invaded by the foreign barnacles, the reason of which is not known. 3종의 외국산 따개비가 한국의 조간대 해역에 침입한 것이 발견되었는데 이들은 Balanus amphitrite, B. eburneus 및 B. improvisus이다. 한국내에서 이 3종이 모두 발견되고 개체군이 가장 발달된 곳은 동남부 해역, 즉 부산 부근이다. B. amphitrite는 1970년도 초에 가장 먼저 한국에 침입한 것으로 추측되며 가장 널리 분포해 있으나 목포 이북의 서해에는 아직 침입해 있지 않은 상태이다. B. improvisus는 동해의 복쪽까지 확산해 있으나 B. eburneus는 동남부 해역에 국한되어 있다. B. amphitrite는 재래종인 B. albicostatus와 경쟁을 하고 있는데 이 두 종이 혼생하고 있는 여러 지역에서 후자의 재래종이 배타되고 있는 실정이다. 서해는 아직 외래 따개비의 침입을 받고 있지 않은데 그 이유는 현재 모르고 있다.

      • 강릉 인근의 물응애 4미기록종

        대관령의 산간 계류와 남대천에서 발견된 한국내 미기록 물응애류를 기재한다. 이들은 4과 4속 3종 1아종으로서 Japonothyas ornatus Imamura & Mitchell, Bandakia japonica Imamura, Hygrobates taniguchii Imamura 및 Feltria cornuta japonica Imamura이다. Water mites from the mountainous streams in Taekwanryong and Namdaechon brook near Kangreung were examined taxonomically. Of which, four species or subspecies, belonging to 4 families and 4 genera, to be described below, were found for the first time from Korea. They are: Japonothyas ornatus Imamura; Bandakia japonica Imamura; Hygrobates taniguchii Imamura, and Feltria cornuta japonica Imamura.

      • A Contrastive Rhetoric Study of American and Korean Students’ Persuasive Essays

        This study investigates American and Korean students’ persuasive essays from the contrastive rhetoric perspective. In particular, it focuses on two rhetorical aspects: organizational structureand types of reason presented for the position. Previous contrastive rhetoric studies have suggested that Korean has rhetorical patterns distinct from English. For example, contrary to English, Korean organizational structure is characterized as indirect and nonlinear (Kaplan, 1966) and as inductive (Norton, 1978). The most preferred organizational structure in Korean expository and argumentative prose is the four-part pattern called ki-sung-chon-kyul (Eggington, 1987; Ok, 1991). These previous studies are based on the written essays of college studentsor newspaper editors. Few studies have been conducted on elementary school students’ essays from the perspective of contrastive rhetoric. Compared to college students and newspaper editors, elementary school children in Korea have less exposure to the English language and American culture. Especially, rural and mid-size urban children have less contact to foreign cultures than children in large cites, and they may display rhetorical patterns more genuine to Korean language and culture. For these reasons, the present study examines English and Korean reflective essays written by elementary school children in rural and mid-size urban areas.

        8 비트 센서 노드 상에서 효율적인 공개키 암호를 위한 다정도 제곱 연산의 최적화

        Multiprecision Squaring은 공개키 알고리즘을 구성하는 연산 중에서 가장 중요한 연산 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 Multiprecision Squaring 알고리즘을 개선하여 연산 양을 줄임으로 성능을 향상시키는 Squaring 기법들을 제시하고 구현하였다. Scott이[1]에서 제안한 Carry-Catcher Hybrid 곱셈 알고리즘은 Gura가 제안한 Hybrid 곱셈 알고리즘[2]을 계승 발전시킨 것으로 MIRACL 라이브러리에 구현되어 있으며, Carry-Catcher Hybrid 방법 사용한 Multiprecision Squaring 알고리즘도 MIRACL에 함께 구현되어 있다. 본 논문에서 이 Carry-Catcher Hybrid Squaring 알고리즘을 발전시켜 보다 효율적인 Squaring 알고리즘인 Lazy Doubling Squaring 알고리즘을 제안하고 구현하였으며, atmega128상에서 성능테스터를 수행하여 Carry-Catcher Hybrid Squaring 알고리즘과 비교하여 더 효율적인 알고리즘임을 보였다. 표준 Squaring 알고리즘이 S<SUB>ij</SUB> = x<SUB>i</SUB> * x<SUB>j</SUB> = S<SUB>ij</SUB> 인 사실을 기반으로 곱셈의 횟수를 절반 가까이 줄인 알고리즘이라면 본 논문에서 제시한 Lazy Doubling Squaring 알고리즘은 a?* 2 + a₁* 2 + ... + a<SUB>n-1</SUB> * 2 + a<SUB>n</SUB> * 2 = (a?+ a₁+ ... + a<SUB>n-1</SUB>+ a<SUB>n</SUB>)* 2 라는 사실을 기반으로 하여 doubling 연산 횟수를 획기적으로 줄인 알고리즘으로, MIRACL에 구현되어 있는 Multiprecision Squaring 알고리즘 보다 atmega128상에서 약 25% 정도의 빠른 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 저자가 아는 바로는 현재까지 나온 어떤 방법보다 빠르다. Multiprecision squaring is one of the most significant algorithms in the core public key cryptography operation. The aim of this work is to present a new improved squaring algorithm compared with the MIRACL’s multiprecision squaring algorithm in which the previous work [1] on multiprecision multiplication is implemented. First, previous works on multiprecision multiplication and standard squaring are analyzed. Then, our new Lazy Doubling squaring algorithm is introduced. In MIRACLE library [3], Scott’s Carry-Catcher Hybrid multiplication technique [1] is applied to implementation of multiprecision multiplication and squaring. Experimental results of the Carry-Catcher hybrid squaring algorithm and the proposed Lazy Doubling squaring algorithm both of which are tested on Atmega128 CPU show that proposed idea has achieved significant performance improvements. The proposed Lazy Doubling Squaring algorithm reduces addition instructions by the fact a?* 2 + a₁* 2 + ... + a<SUB>n-1</SUB> * 2 + a<SUB>n</SUB> * 2 = (a?+ a₁+ ... + a<SUB>n-1</SUB> + a<SUB>n</SUB>) * 2 while the standard squaring algorithm reduces multiplication instructions by the fact S<SUB>ij</SUB> = x<SUB>i</SUB> * x<SUB>j</SUB> = S<SUB>ji</SUB> . Experimental results show that the proposed squaring method is 25% faster than that in MIRACL.
