A high concentration of inorganic substances of calcium, sodium and chloride are contained in leachate from solid waste landfill. That causes various problems of corrosion or scaling of inside and outside treatment facilities. It is seldom removed that conventional leachate treatment system with biological, coagulation, sand filtration and activated carbon adsorption process. Therefore, we studied the removal of high concentration of inorganic substances by electrodialysis process. An effective membrane surface area was 1.72dm²× pairs. And desalination time was 60min. with 1.5ampere and 15volts. As the results, stable desalination was achieved above 95percent up to 3,000㎎/L as calcium, 3,000㎎/L as sodium and 10,000㎎/L as chloride respectively. And also flux was in constant values and increased with the increasing in the concentration of inorganic substances. Removal efficiency of NH₄^+-N was 80percent in leachate.

Endocrine disruptors(EDs) consist of synthetic and naturally occurring chemicals that affect the balance of normal hormonal functions in animals. Depending on their activity that they may be characterized as estrogen modulators or androgen modulators. Estrogenic activity of endocrine disruptors was assayed with fluorescence polarization system. 17β-estradiol, nonylphenol, bisphenol A and benzophenone that estrogenic activity is suspected were used for the competition assay. Because, there is much detection frequency in a municipal wastewater as compared with other endocrine disruptors in Japan. Fluorescence polarization in high concentration of 5,000nM of the endocrine disrupters which were 17β-estradiol, nonylphenol, bisphenol A and benzophenone were 100.8mP, 162.6mP. 288.6mP and 330.2mP respectively. The IC_(50)(50% inhibition concentration) of 17β-estradiol, nonylphenol, bisphenol A and benzophenone were 25nM. 3,000nM, 5 × l0⁴nM and 2 × l0^6nM respectively. As a results. It was estimated that strength of estrogenic activity of the endocrine disrupters was the order of 17β-estradiol, nonylphenol, bisphenol A and benzophenone.

Landfill leachates contained high concentration of COD(chemical oxygen demand), BOD (biochemical oxygen demand), nitrogen compounds and inorganic salts. It is very difficult to treat those recalcitrant substances by using conventional biological treatment. ASMF consists of activated sludge process and microfiltration membrane. This membrane with a pore size of 0.1 ㎛ is immersed in a biological reactor and separated sludge from treated water by suction filtration. Low pressure and MLSS(mixed liquid suspended solid) concentration of 10,000 to 20,000㎎/L could kept for stable permeate flux of 140L/㎡·day and prevented from membrane fouling without chemical cleaning during 140 days. An intermittent aeration and suction filtration mode(aeration and suction filtration phase ; 30 minutes, anoxic phase; 60 minutes) had an good effect on high COD_(cr) removal of 93 percents. But, this operation mode showed low TN(total nitrogen) removal of 35 percents.

Solute rejection of organic compound such as chlorophenols, nitrophenols and pesticides with a flat sheet composite polyvinyl alcohol nanofiltration negatively charged membrane by pKa of organic compound and pH change of feed solution was investigated. It was shown that 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxy acetic acid (MCPA), 2,4,5-trichlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D), 2,4-dinitrophenol and p-nitrophenol were rejected highly at the pH 9 of feed solution. But rejection of 4-chlorophenoi and phenol was very low at the same pH condition of feed solution. At the pH 3 of feed solution, its rejection was the lowest. When the pH condition of feed solution was more higher than the its pKa, the higher rejection of organic compound was shown. As a result, it was found that rejection of organic compound dissociation occurred was depended on both the pKa of organic compound and the pH of feed solution.

Treatment of domestic wastewater using septic tank combined with soil trench process can be a cost effective alternative in rural areas. Technology for such small on site wastewater treatment plants will contribute to significant environmental protection as long as people live in rural areas. The modified septic tank which consisted of septic tank and anaerobic filter (rice hulls and sawdust media) had efficiencies for a preapplication process of soil subsurface system. The soil column test showed that the soil depth required for 90 percent removal efficiencies of pollutants would be over 50㎝. Domestic wastewater having six months of mean COD coccentration of 450-550 ㎎/L, NH₄^+-N of 45-70 ㎎/L and PO₄^(3-)-P of 5-10 ㎎/L. The average removal of organics and nutrients in soil permeating water based on the original wastewater were purified this process at the rate of 90% removal of COD, 60% removal of NH₄^+-N and 80% removal of PO₄^(3-)-P.

It was written at the Mao Shi prefaces (毛詩序) that Shi Jing was divided into two groups; the Zheng Poem and the Bian Poem. According to this, many scholars published various assertions on how to distinguish the Zheng Poem from the Bian Poem in Shi Jing. Conseguently, these assertions were classified into four sorts. 1) Classification by the chronological order according to the political rise and fall 2) Distinction between eulogy and satire 3) Distinction the Poem which was accompanied by music from the poem which was not accompanied by it, 4) Classification by the style of the poem My study on each assertion leads to the following conclusion: 1) Although those scholars who made the first assertion defined that Shi Jing was published by the chronological order and they distinguished the Zheng Poem from the Bian poem by the table of contents, it is proved that Shi Jing was not published by the chronological order. 2) Those scholars who made the second assertion concluded that Shi-Jing was distinguished between eulogy and satiry at every prologue in Mao Shi and that the Zheng poem and the Bian Poem could be divided into eulogy or satire accordingly. But it is proved herein that the distinction eulogy from satire in Mao Shi prefaces was possible by the country and chronology without the definite standard even though the contents of the poem were the same. 3) Those scholars who made the third assertion divided Shi Jing into two parts. One that was accompanied by music was called the Zheng Poem and the other that was accompanied by music was called the Bian Poem. But it is proved that all of Shi Jing were accompanied by music 4) Those who made the fourth assertion distinguished between the Zheng Poem and the Bian Poem by the style of the Poem. But looking into the style, it is proved that the distinction between the Zheng Poem and the Bian Poem is the style itself. Thus, the above classifications seem to be unreasonable so far. Then, why did these assertions come to rise? These assertions were due to the Han scholars who regarded the poem as a remonstration. They attempted to classify the Zheng Poem as the poem of admonition and the Bian poem as that of warning. But they did not succeed in it.
