As the period of anti-corrosin warranty including perforation corrosion of original body sheet metal due to defects in material or factory workmanship has recently increased by automobile companies, it is a commitment from automotive component to maintain a high degree of quality and reliability. This study aims to evaluate the fatigue life of steel sheets which is used widely in the manufacture of automotive component. Fatigue life test are performed by using the specimens in the saturated water with salt. Four kinds of specimens are SGACC steel plates, SPHC steel plates, SGACC steel plates with EDC and SPHC steel plates with EDC. The following results that will be helpful to understand the static strength, fatigue life of steel plates in the saturated water with salt were obtained.(1)Regardless of EDC, all the specimens of SGACC steel plates didn"t fracture within 200 million fatigue life cycles however all the specimens of SPHC steel plate fractured within 200 million fatigue life cycles.(2)The fatigue life of the specimen of SPHC steel plates was approximately 43 percent lower than that of the specimen of SPHC steel plates with EDC. From these results, the applicability of material to the automobile component is discussed.

A proposed testing method of lubricating oil and lubrication characteristics and lubrication quality for gasoline engine, when the engine oil is used for longtime of period. The result shows that the characteristics of engine oil were changed at 30,000km driving distance to the viscosity of 7.82, viscosity index 3, lubrication 40um and at 75,000km driving distance the viscosity of 76.01, viscosity index 10, lubrication of 88. The lubrication characteristics and quality of lubrication and performance of lubricating oil was changed rapidly for the driving of distance. The result dose not consider the properties of fuel used.

Fretting damage can be observed in automobile and railway vehicle, fossil and nuclear power plant, aircraft etc. In the present study, railway axle material RSA 1 used for evaluation of fretting fatigue life. Plain and fretting fatigue tests were carried out using rotary bending fatigue tester with proving ring and bridge type contact pad. Through these test, the following results are obtained: 1) it is found that the fretting fatigue limit of standard specimen decreased about 37% compared to the plain fatigue limit. 2) The early crack of Shinkansen type specimens initiated in contact area and final fractured below σamp=289 MPa. 3) The early crack of all TGV type specimens initiated in rounded area and fractured. 4) The wear debris is observed on the contact surface, and oblique cracks at an earlier stage are initiated in contact area. These results can be used as useful data in a structural integrity evaluation of railway axle.
차량용 고장력 일체형 임펙트 도어빔의 형상 설계 및 시뮬레이션

자동차 도어빔은 차량 측면 충돌 시 탑승자의 안전 공간을 확보해야 하는 필수적인 도어 부품이다. 평상시는 에너지 절감을 위해 최대한 무게를 줄여야 하나 측면 충돌 시는 승객보호를 위해 충돌 에너지를 흡수하는 반발력과 도어빔의 허용 수준 이내로의 처짐이 확보되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 기존 파이프 타입의 도어빔 대비 무게를 줄일 수 있고, 굽힘 강성을 확보할 수 있는 제작이 용이한 신기술 고장력 일체형 도어빔을 개발하기 위해 유한요소 해석을 활용한 형상 설계를 수행하였다. 용접 적용 효과를 시뮬레이션으로 확인하여 최종 사각형 구조의 폐단면 형상을 선정하였다. 그리고 폐단면 구조의 일체형 도어빔의 설계를 적용해 실차 충돌 시뮬레이션으로 개발된 도어빔의 효과를 검토하였다.

Door impact beam is the key part of a car in the case of a side collision car accident for reserving passenger’s safety area, and is required to be lightened a weight for saving fuel. It also needed to be reduced a process time and simplified the assembly of a door module. In this study, FE dynamic simulation is conducted by using LS-DYNA3D solver in order to developing a one-body door impact beam fitting in a side impact test. In order to securing the effectiveness of FE model of the door impact beam, the verification and validation of a door impact beam is achieved from the physical phenomenon extraction of a material property through a specimen test and the analysis condition setting through a bending test. Suitable shape condition of an impact beam is attained from the simulation of a simple FE door module model for a side impact test. FE model of the door module is validated by the experiment from an established side impact test apparatus for a whole door module including a window channel.
