We investigated characteristics of temperature variation in urban and suburban areas(e.g., paddy field, upland, park, residential area) and urban heat island(UHI) during winter(December 2005 to February 2006). The daily maximum air temperature was not significantly different between suburban and urban areas, whereas the daily minimum air temperatures were significantly lower in the suburban areas than that in the residential area. The wind speed in the urban park(0.3 m/s) was much lower than that in the paddy fields(2.3 m/s), likely due to an urban canopy layer formed by high buildings. The UHI intensity was represented by differences in daily minimum temperatures between urban residential and paddy field areas. The UHI intensity($4.1^{\circ}C$) in winter was larger than that($2.6^{\circ}C$) in summer. This may be because a stable boundary layer develops in the winter, and thereby this inhibits diffusion of heat from surface.

The characteristics of temperature variations under different land covers (paddy field, upland, urban park, and urban residential area) was investigated during two summers (2005 and 2006). The mean temperature generally increased with the distance from edge of paddy fields, being 1.5℃ higher at a 170 m site from paddy fields than at a paddy field area at 22 h. The mean daily temperatures in the study period followed the order of paddy field (25.7℃) < upland (25.9℃) < park (26.4℃) < residential area (26.9℃). The paddy field area has shown remarkable cooling effects compared to the residential area during hot season: Mean duration of temperature below 25℃ in the paddy field area was longer 7.2 hrs than in the residential area; The time to fall to below 25℃ in the paddy field area was sooner 3.7 hr than in the residential area; Mean daily minimum temperature in the paddy field area was much lower 2.7℃ than in the residential area. More research is needed to better clarify the mechanism of cooling effect of a paddy field area by investigating heat balance of a paddy field.

The characteristics of heat balance and micrometeorological factors in the different land use (paddy field, upland, park and residential) in urban and suburban Cheongju were compared experimentally during the winter. The mean monthly temperature was found to be the lowest above the upland while above the residential it was the highest. The difference was about 3℃. The paddy field and the upland were large a diurnal temperature range. The characteristic of heat balance above the paddy field and upland was that the division of sensible heat was high during the daytime.

교류전기철도 보호계전시스템은 국내·외 제품사 별로 장비가 상이하여 상·하위 시스템간의 통신 설정에 많은 어려움이 있다. 이를 보완하기 위하여 장치간 설비, 운용 및 유지보수의 효율성을 높이는 국제 표준으로 제정된 변전 통신 프로토콜 IEC61850 시스템을 표준 데이터 모델을 사용하여 각 장치간의 통일된 모델링을 제공하므로 IEC61850 표준에 따르는 장치들 간의 상호 호환성을 보장하여야 한다. 시스템 구성 기술 중 일부가 비약적인 발전을 하더라도 그 발전된 기능을 수용할 수 있는 개선된 유지보수 기능이 제공되어야 한다. 이를 시험하기 위하여, 현재 SCADA 기반의 DNP3.0 과 변전소의 IEC61850 간 프로토콜 변환 기능을 수행하는 연계용 Gateway 개발하여 하위의 보호계전기들 간의 프로토콜 변환 및 중계역할을 하는 것에 목적이다. 교류전기철도 고장점 표정의 Synchrophasor 기술은 인공위성의 GPS 신호를 이용하여 변전소, 보조급전구분소, 급전구분소 관계없이 측정하는 각 지점마다 시간을 동기화하여 전력계통의 정보를 페이저 형태로 얻는 기술이다. 현재 약 2∼4 초마다 데이터를 취득하는 기존 SCADA 시스템과 비교하여 1 초에 30∼60 개의 데이터 취득이 가능하여 각 처소의 시간차로 인한 고장시간을 보다 정밀하게 얻을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 동기화된 신호 사이의 분석을 통해 전력계통의 특성을 분석할 수 있는 장점을 가진다. PMU 가 가지는 가장 큰 특징은 GPS 신호를 이용하여 교류전기철도 전력계통에서 일어나는 상황을 같은 시간으로 측정할 수 있다는 점이다. 또한 백만분의 1 초 단위로 측정이 가능하여, 기존 시스템보다 정밀한 측정 및 다양한 분석이 가능하다는 점이 큰 특징이며, 감시 및 해석 제어가 가능하여 교류전기철도 시스템 보호계전시스템에 시간동기화 기능을 적용하고자 한다. 전차선로 설비인 드로퍼에 대한 단선현황 및 진동을 터널, 교량, 평지 시설에 대하여 측정 분석하였고, 또한 설비 별로 분류하여 장애자료를 작성하였다. 특히 드로퍼에 파단면을 분석하여 시료를 통한 분석 및 경도시험, 피로시험, 각종 시험분석으로 기계적 피로도인지 아니면 외부적인 환경에 의하여 단선현상이 발생되는지에 대한 연구하였으며, KTX 팬터그래프 압상력에 의한 전차선의 영향을 고찰하였고, 드로퍼의 탄성도 측정 또는 전기적인 순환전류 분석 및 사고사례를 적용하여 드로퍼 설치위치에 대한 연구 및 가선특성에 대하여 언급하여 이에 대한 방안으로 전차선로 드로퍼 개선을 통하여 KTX 속도를 결정하는 전차선로 드로퍼 설치방향을 제안하여 앞으로 우리나라 고속 전기철도 발전방향에 대하여 논하였다.
