In this paper, we investigated the surge immunity of the connector in the surge protective device for communication and signal. Surge immunity of RJ-11 connector used for Ethernet, RJ-45 connector used for telephone network and D-Sub connector used for serial communication has been tested according to KS standard IEC61643-21. The D-Sub connector was confirmed to have no problems in the operating condition under the 10㎸/5 ㎄ surge condition by the C2 category of IEC61643-21. On the other hand, RJ-45 and RJ-11 have been confirmed that the connectors are broken if it is applied several times or more. Therefore, based on the experimental results of this study, we proposed a reasonable surge capacity for surge protective device for communication and signal.
류마토이드 관절염 환자에 대한 Recombinant Interferon Gamma 의 임상시험

N/A To evaluate antirheumatic efficacies and possibilities on treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with recombinant interferon-gamma, 44 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were treated with IFN-γ for 20 days and were analysed from the standpoint of Ritchie index, patient's assessment, laboratory findings and sideffect. The observed results are as follows: 1) 44 patients were enrolled, 40 patients could be evaluated. Of these, 22 were responders (55%) according to the criteria for treatment success. 2) In 35 patients, stabilized therapy was continued concomittant with the IFN-γ and were no significant differences with respect to the results of treatment. 3) In responders, Ritchie index decreased from 28 on the day of recruitment into the study to 15 on day 20. 4) The patients evaluation of morning pain and change in mobility showed more improvements in responders than non-responders. 5) Monitering of laboratory parameters revealed no therapeutically relevant changes. Side-effects occurred in 14 out of 40 patients. In 10 of these patients, transient fever was recorded.
침출수 처리공정 슬러지와 슬러지건조연료를 활용한 케나프 생육 검토

우리나라는 과거 하수슬러지를 해양에 투기하여 처리 하였지만 런던 협약으로 인해 2012년부터 더 이상 해양투기 방법이 전면 불가능해 졌다. 슬러지의 육상처리ㆍ처분기술의 하나인 슬러지건조연료는 “폐자원 에너지화 정책”의 일환으로 제조 및 사용하는 시설이 증가하였다. 하지만 고형연료의 사용에 대하여 미세먼지와 중금속 등 환경문제 발생으로 인해 제조와 사용시설에 대한 규제가 강화되어 고형연료 산업이 침체되고 있으며 사용처가 줄어든 건조연료는 불법사용과 부적정하게 보관하는 등의 문제를 발생 시키고 있다. 현재 수도권매립지 침출수 처리시설에서는 일평균 100톤의 탈수 슬러지가 발생되고 있다. 수도권매립지 침출수 처리시설에서 발생되는 탈수 슬러지는 현재 전량 매립처리하고 있으나 2018년도부터 자원순환기본법에 의한 폐기물처분부담금제 도입으로 매립최소화 및 안정적인 처리 및 재활용 방안이 필요할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 침출수 공정슬러지와 건조연료 혼합물을 활용한 속성수 케나프생육 관련 연구이다.

In the present study, we proposed a new subspace scanning algorithm to enhance the spatial resolution of electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetoencephalography(MEG) source localization. Subspace scanning algorithms, represented by the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm and the first principal vector (FINE) algorithm, have been widely used to localize asynchronous multiple dipolar sources in human cerebral cortex. The conventional MUSIC algorithm used principal component analysis (PCA) to extract the noise vector subspace, thereby having difficulty in discriminating two or more closely-spaced cortical sources. The FINE algorithm addressed the problem by using only a part of the noise vector subspace, but there was no golden rule to determine the number of noise vectors. In the present work, we estimated a non-orthogonal signal vector set using independent component analysis (ICA) instead of using PCA and performed the source scanning process in the signal vector subspace, not in the noise vector subspace. Realistic 2D and 3D computer simulations, which compared the spatial resolutions of various algorithms under different noise levels, showed that the proposed ICA-MUSIC algorithm has the highest spatial resolution, suggesting that it can be a useful tool for practical EEG/MEG source localization.

Diffuse optical tomography (DOT) is a relatively new medical imaging modality which uses near infrared light to image large-sized tissues noninvasively. We constructed a frequency-domain DOT system to measure the optical properties of optical phantoms and human tissues. The FD-DOT uses the intensity-modulated infrared light source that illuminates the biological tissues. The phase shift and modulation changes at each detector site are separately processed to measure the optical properties. The absorption and scattering coefficients are separately estimated using inverse algorithms.

N/A Lymphocyte migration is an essential event in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. Lymphocyte accumulation in the diseased tissue is a modification of lymphocyte traffic from blood to lymphoid tissue. But the mechanism by which lymphocytes enter synovia is poorly understood. In our study, sections of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis synovium were overlaid with human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and the binding of these cells to blood vessels was examined. Rheumatoid arthritis synovia that had lymphocyte-rich areas only contained blood vessels adhesive for mononuclear cells. These reactive vessels showed striking similarities to high endothelial venules of the paracortical region of normal lymph nodes where normal lymphocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and lymphocyte emigration into tissue occurs. Between 13.8 and 9.4% of the high endothelial venule-like vessels were reactive vessels and each vessel had a mean of 2~5 cells bound to it. These results suggest that the key cellular event in the pathogenesis of inflammatory rheumatic disease is adhesive interaction between circulating mononuclear cells and high endothelial venule-like structures found in inflamed synovium.

An analysis of 50 patients with metastatic carcinoma from unknown primary site, seen at Hanyang University Hospital from january 1985 to December 1987, was performed. 50 patients constituted 2.4% of the total carcinoma patients registered at Hanyang University Hospital. The mean age of the patients was 55.1 years. Histopathologic diagnosis revealed adenocarcinoma in 68% and squamous cell carcinoma in 20% of the cases. The common sites of metastases were the lymphnodes, pleura, peritoneum and bones. The overall median survival time was 4.5 months. The primary sites were identified in only four patients(8%) during the follow-up periods. There was no difference in survival time between treated and untreated adenocarcinoma patients, but in squamous cell carcinoma patients group survival for treated versus untreated was 12.8 months versus 1.7 months.

Liver cell replication is known to invlove a sequential activation of proto-oneogenes including c-myc and e-Ha-ras. These positive regulations of proliferative signal are thought to be counter- balanced by growth-constraining tumor suppressor genes. During the genesis of liver cell carcinoma both the qualitative and the quantitative changes in growth promoting proto-oncogenes were elucidated in animal models. And also mutational inactivation bf suppressor genes such as p53 liberates the cell from the negative regulation, resulting in deregulated growth. Since there is strong corrleation between persistence of hepatitis B virus infection and the development of hepatocellular carcinoma, we attempted to investigate the dynamic changes of proto-oncogenes and tumor suppressor gene in HBV DNA positive lliver tissues among 8 chronic persistent hepatitis, 9 chronic active hepatitis, 12 liver cirrhosis, and 13 hepatocellular carcinomas, employing in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. Comparing to chronie hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, c-myc overexpression was heterogeneously distributed in hepatocellular carcinoma, Intensity of c-Ha-ras expressions was strong in hepatocellular carcinomas, liver cirrhosis, chranic active hepatitis, and chronic persistent hepatitis in orders. Whereas wild type of p53 was immunohistochemically detectable in all of the cases investigated, mutant gene deleted 9 amino acids adjacent to carboxyl terminal revealed in 37.5% of chronic persistent hepatitis, 33.3% of chronic active hepatitis or liver cirrhosis, and 46.2% of hepatocelluar carcinomas, respectively. In conclusion, these data support that enhanced expressian of positive growth promoting proto-oncogenes is related with regeneration of the liver and progression of tumor cell growth. And the various mutant genes of tumor suppressor might be emerged during the persistent replication of hepatocytes in HBV DNA positive chronic liver diseases, in cooperation with proto-oncogenes, eventually resulting in development of hepatocellular carcinoma. This means, in turn, that HBV-related chronic liver diseases retained a malignant potential.
