Expression of anthocyanin biosynthesis-related genes reflects the peel color in purple tomato

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the most important and popular vegetables worldwide. A wide range of tomato cultivars with different colored fruits is presently available. The purple peel of tomato fruit is due to the accumulation anthocyanin pigments, which are beneficial to both plants and humans. Cultivated tomatoes normally do not make anthocyanin in their fruit peel, but there are some wild relatives of cultivated tomato like Solanum chilense, S. habrochaites, S. cheesmanii, and S. lycopersicoides that do produce anthocyanins in their fruits. In this study, the purple fruit color was obtained by crossing ‘OSU blue’ (blue fruit) and ‘Purple mini’ (brown fruit) and subsequent self-pollination. Anthocyanins are produced via the flavonoid pathway and are regulated by the transcriptional complex of MYB, bHLH, and WD40 repeats transcription factors. We determined the expression profiles of genes related to anthocyanin biosynthesis in tomato genotypes with distinct fruit colors by qRT-PCR. Both the early and late biosynthetic genes of the anthocyanin pathway were up-regulated in the peels of purple tomato fruits, except Sl5GT. Moreover, the expression of the regulatory genes SlANT1 and SlAN1 was dramatically increased in the peels of purple tomato fruits. These results indicate that SlANT1 and SlAN1 might play an important role on anthocyanin biosynthesis in the peels of purple-fruited tomatoes via up-regulation of structural genes in the anthocyanin pathway.

Although cosmetics companies’ social responsibility (CSR) has become an important strategy for brand value, South Korean small-middle companies lack information and awareness about CSR and corporate sustainability management, regard social responsibility as transient event, not core management strategy. The aim of the research is to design an effective ethical branding conceptual model for ‘creating shared value’ (CSV) in order to strengthen brand image and competitiveness of South Korean small-middle cosmetic companies in the cosmetics market. The research methodology is primary and secondary research. Initial research focused on secondary research in literature review and case studies to investigate the role of ethical brand and design management in ethics for CSV. Afterward, primary research tools in customer survey and expert interview were conducted to examine customers' awareness about social activities and CSR implementation in Korean cosmetic companies. As a result, customers had positive attitude about CSR activities and interested in health and safety of customers among CSR activities. Korean cosmetics SMEs were focus on external CSR activities caused by barriers which is limitation of scale, limited budget, risk aversion, etc. Moreover, the research figured out key factors (listen, know, create and drive) in ethical branding process, and ethical design strategy factors (stakeholder, process, product, customer communication and social contribution) for creating shared value. Thus, the findings are visualized into an ethical branding conceptual model for the Korean cosmetics SMEs. the study will provide a good resource to improve brand trust and enhances competitiveness in cosmetic market, and guide follow-up next studies.

서비스디자인 프로세스를 적용한 재가노인을 위한 통합형 방문재가 서비스디자인 전략 연구

이 연구는 한국의 고령화로 인해 증가하는 방문재가서비스의 현황과 재가노인 및 이해관계자들의 요구를 조사하여 사용자 중심의 통합형 방문재가 서비스디자인 전략을 수립하는 연구이다. 해외 사례분석을 통해 방문재가서비스의 시사점을 도출하고, 서비스디자인 방법론을 적용하여 재가노인과 이해관계자들을 대상으로 관찰과 인터뷰를 실시했다. 분석 결과, 전문가 협력, 사용자와의 소통, 지역사회 협력이 중요한 요소로 나타났으며, 의료와 요양 서비스 간의 협력, 가족 지원, 긴급 상황 대응, 요양보호사 업무 개선, 정보공유와 소통의 필요성을 알게 되었다. 이를 기반으로 통합형 방문재가 서비스디자인 전략을 제안하며, 전문가들의 협력을 통해 노인들의 건강과 요양을 종합적으로 관리하고 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 또한, 지역 자원을 활용하여 가정환경 개선 및 정서 지원프로그램, 지역내 의료기관등과 협력하여 긴급상황에 신속하게 대응할 수 있는 지원서비스, 통합지원서비스 앱을 통한 종합적인 서비스 관리, 커뮤니케이션과 상담서비스, 긴급지원요청, 만족도조사, 정보제공과 교육 등을 통해 노인들과 그들의 가족, 전문가들 간의 상호 만족도를 높일 수 있는 전략적 방향성을 제시한다. 이 연구는 사용자 중심의 맞춤형서비스를 구축하고자 하는 이해관계자들에게 기반 연구로서 도움이 되기를 기대한다. This study aims to develop a user-centered integrated service design strategy of long-term care home-care services for the elderly in response to population aging in South Korea. The research investigates the current status of home-care services and examines the needs of elderly individuals and stakeholders. Key factors identified include expert collaboration, user communication, and community cooperation. The study proposes an integrated service design strategy of home-care services and a comprehensive support app, facilitating personalized care and effective service management. Local resources are suggested for home environment improvement, emotional support programs, and prompt emergency response. The proposed model emphasizes communication, counseling, emergency assistance, satisfaction surveys, and information sharing. The study anticipates enhanced satisfaction among the elderly, their families, and professionals.

최근 한국뿐만 아니라 해외에서도 갯녹음 현상, 즉 석회 성분의 해조류로 바다가 뒤덮이는 현상이 증가하고 있다. 이에 관한 원인은 명확히 밝혀지지 않았으며, 이 현상은 바다 환경에 막대한 영향을 끼치고 변화를 일으킨다. 따라서 본 연구는 선행 연구 자료 검토와 분석을 토대로 갯녹음의 원인을 물리적, 화학적, 생태학적 측면에서 분석하였다. 또한 기사 및 논문을 토대로 2000년 이후부터의 갯녹음 피해 사례를 분석하였고, 대표적인 피해 사례는 마을 어장 면적의 축소 및 어획량 감소로 나타났다. 갯녹음 관련 정책을 알아보기 위하여 국내 기관 정책과 해외 정책, 특히 일본의 사례 및 국가 간 협력사례를 살펴보며 갯녹음 완화를 위한 방향에 대해 고찰하였다. The coralline flat phenomenon that ocean is covered by limy seaweed grows in the world as well as in korea. The cause of this phenomenon has not been determined yet. It is expected that it would affect and cause change of the ocean environment. Therefore this study investigated the causes in terms of physical, chemical and ecological view by examining prospective studies. And damages of the coralline flat is analyzed with articles and theses published after 2000. The representative examples of damages are decrease of fisheries area and fish catch. To investigate policies of the phenomenon, this study examines domestic policies, overseas policies especially Japan and cooperation of asia countries. Through this study, the direction for relieving the phenomenon have been considered.
