막대 형태의 비구면 렌즈를 이용한 광통신용 시준기의 설계

결합효율이 높고 정렬오차 발생 시 결합효율의 저하가 작은 광통신용 비구면 렌즈 시준기를 설계하였다. 비구면 시준 렌즈는 GRIN 렌즈와 작동거리와 두께가 유사하고 외경이 동일한 원통형 막대 형태로 설계해 GRIN 렌즈를 대체할 수 있도록 하였다. 결합효율의 저하는 시준렌즈의 구면수차에 의해 주요하게 발생하므로, 비구면 렌즈 시준기가 볼 렌즈, GRIN 렌즈 및 C-렌즈 시준기보다 높은 결합효율을 가지도록 비구면 계수를 최적화 해 구면수차를 낮추었다. 설계한 비구면 렌즈 시준기의 결합효율은 기존 시준기들보다 높았으며 정렬오차에 따른 결합효율의 감소도 작았다. A rod-type aspheric lens collimator for the optical telecommunication system which shows high coupling efficiency and experiences small coupling loss for misalignment errors is designed. The working distance, thickness, and diameter of the rod-type aspheric lens are determined to be close to those of the GRIN lens collimator in order to replace the GRIN lens with the rod-type aspheric lens. Since the coupling loss mainly originated from the spherical aberration of the lens, the spherical aberration in the rod-type aspheric lens is reduced drastically, and it turns out that the coupling efficiency of the rod-type aspheric lens collimator is higher than that of the available collimators, such as ball lens, GRIN lens, and C-type lens collimators.

Ultra precision grinding of asymmetric surface and optimum machining conditions for we cores are studied in this research. Tool path for free form surface was calculated using asymmetric optical surface equations designed for optical transceiver lens system. We used experimental results to optimize feed-rate and depth of cut with durable grinding wheel wear. Ground we cores were measured contact type profilers and verified.
Ion beam assisted DC magnetron sputtering에 의한 렌즈 유리 성형용 WC 합금의 Ir-Re 박막 특성

Ir-Re thin films with Ti interlayer were deposited onto the tungsten carbide substrate by ion beam assisted DC magnetron sputtering. The Ir-Re films were prepared with targets of having two atomic percent of 7:3 and 5:5. The microstructure and surface analysis of the specimen were conducted by using SEM, XRD and AFM. Mechanical properties such as hardness and adhesion strength of Ir-Re thin film also were examined. The interlayer of pure titanium was formed with 100 ㎚ thickness. The film growth of Ir-30at.%Re was faster than that of Ir-50at.%Re in the same deposition conditions. Ir-Re thin films consisted of dense and columnar structure irrespective of the different target compositions. The values of hardness and adhesion strength of Ir-30at.%Re thin film coated on WC substrate were higher than those of Ir-50at.%Re thin film.

This study carried out a cutting experiment on Duralumin A16061-T6, which is light but strong and highly anticorrosive, so recently popular as a lightweight material, by changing cutting conditions and alternating 4 insert tips, and examined the effect of each insert tip on cutting force at certain cutting conditions, the measurements of the coarseness of processed surfaces roughness, and the chip workability.The following conclusions were drawn from the results. Cutting force for cutting tool is when insert tips were alternated at each cutting condition, the cutting force of cutting tools was highest when CBN tools were used, next by Ceramic tools, Cermet tools, and WC tools. Therefore, WC tools are considered most suitable for cutting Duralumin A16061-T6.Surface roughness as for the coarseness of surfaces according to insert tips applied to Duralumin A16061-T6 under the cutting condition of depth of cut below 1mm, feed rate below 0.24mm/rev and cutting speed over 100m/min, the coarseness of material surface roghness appeared to be finest when WC tools were used, next by Ceramic tools, Cermet tools, and CBN tools.

Code V was used to make a plan for collimator lens with aspherical surface in the present study. The acquired optical design data were applied for ultra-precision machining. The optimum properties were determined to find ways to compensate the tool positioning error allowance during the ultra-precision machining. In ultra-precision aspheric machining, figure tolerance corrected by tool positioning error be improved by compensation cycle number.

Recentiry, High accuracy and precision are required in various industrial field. To obtain the surface roughness with range from several 10㎚ to several ㎚ in inner cutting, we need a ultra-precision machine, single diamond tool, cutting condition, and the study of materials. It is very difficult to obtain the mirror surface without new technique. In this paper, Using the new tool holder as well as the ultra precision diamond cutting, we directly processed the inside of an aluminum alloy in order to obtain mirror surface. We have considered the length of tool holder when we design the tool holder. From experimental results, we believe that the new tool holder will improve inner cutting.
