        A helminthic parasite survey of domestic rodents in Viet-Nam was undertaken by the author during the period, February to July 1969, aiming at finding out a various intestinal worm from a potential host. The number of rodents captured in and around the vietnames residencies or premises were totaled 185, comprising of 108 Rattus norvegicus, 29 Rattus exulans, 46 Suncus murinus and 2 Rattus rattus. The incidence' of infestation was 46.5%. Species of helminths were six, comprising of 2 Cestoda and 4 Nematoda; Cestoda, Hymenolepis diminuta 37.0°0 Hymenolepis nana 3.2% Nematoda : Seuratum nguyenvanii, Le-Van-Hoa, 1966 23.9% Rictularia tani, Hoeppli, 1929 12.0% Physaloptera sp 22.8% Ox uridae s 1.1%

        The collaspe of masonry wall is mainly due to the deficiency of stability. And so the use is limited partially. For the purpose of increasing the stability the new design method applied the principle of Reinforced Earth is studied. The structure of Reinforced Earth masonry wall if designed as the structure of conventional masonry wall except that the thin elongated ties made of materials with high tensile strength are jointed to the wall and beded with proper space in bakfill soil. Some small scale model wall is constructed and tested and the economy study is carried out. The experimantal test results are supplied understandings on the behavior or Reinforced Earth masonry wall.

        풍파를 추정하는 방법 중 시간에 따라 풍속이 변하고 풍역이 이동하는 경우에 가장 적당한 벙법인 Wilson의 도식해법을 적용하여 울산만의 심해파를 구하였다. 바람자료는 한국 남ㆍ동해안에 큰 피해를 주었던 사라호 태풍때의 천기도를 이용하여�� 다음에 천해역에서의 파랑의 변형을 가산하여 추정지점의 파랑을 구한 다음 실측치와 비교하여 보였다. Deep water wind wave is pbtained by Wilson's graphical method, which is the most satisfactory for predicting deep water wave by variable wind in a variably moving wind system of finite fetch. Space-time wind field is made by weather maps for Typhoon Sarah, Sept. 1959, which brought serious damage on the south and east coast in Korea. Decay of wave in deep water and that of deep water swell over shallow bottom is obtained and compared with wave record.

        太和江 水系의 河川形態學的 特性을 고찰하였다. 本 水系의 流砂는 一般的으로 花崗巖 地帶에서 많으며 河川形態學的 影響보다 地質의 影響을 더욱 많이 받는 것으로 보인다. The geology and stream morphological characteristics of Taehwa steam system were studied. Sediment Yields from the areas where granite is prevailing are higher than others in this stream system. And, in this stream system, sediment yields seem to be more influenced by the geology of drainage basin than by the stream morphological characteristics.

      • 越南人의 腸內寄生蟲 感染率調査

        The distribution and the infestation rates of endoparasites in the rural Vietnamese were examined. during the period from September, 1966 to June, 1970. The stool specimens collected were 3, 247 (male 2, 122, female 1, 125) in total and examined by the direct iodine-stained smear method. The results, obtained are as follows; 1. Seven kinds of helminths and five kinds of protozoa are detected from 1, 957 or 60.3 ofo of the specimens. The species of helminths are Ascaris lumbricoides, Ancylostoma duodenale, Trichocephalus trichurus, Strongyloides stercoralis, Enterobius vermicularis, Hymenolepis nana, Echinostoma ilocanum. The protozoa are Entamoeba histolytica, Iodamoeba by tschlii, Giardia lamblia, Chilomastix mesnili and Entamoeba coli. 2. Of 2,122 male, 1,280 or 60.6% were shown positive infestation with one or more different kinds of parasite and in female, 677 or 60.1% of 1,125 were positive. 3. The rates of helminthic infections were; Ascaris lumbricoides 51. 3%, Ancylostoma duodenale 6.9%, Trichocephalus trichurus 4.7% Strongyloides stercoralis 0. 4%, Hymenolepis 0.4%, Enterobius vermicularis 0.5% and 1 case of Echinostoma ilocanum. 4. The rates of protozoan infections were; Entamoeba histolytica 3. 9%, Giardia lamblia 2.3%, Iodamoeba biitschlii 0.20%. Chilomastix mesnili 0. 2% and Entamoeba coli 5.4%. 5. There was a little difference in infestation rates between region II and IV. Region IV, Mekong delta region, showed more infestation rate of ascariasis, 55.1%, than

        Reinforced Earth which has been developed since the later years of 1960's is a superior composite construction material composed with the association of frictional non-cohesive soil and plane reinforcements. As the Reinforced Earth structures are stable, cheap and simple, moreover provide us the easy construction condition on the unfavorable ground and foundation, it has been wirily used for various purposes ; retaining walls, retention to construct structures, highway construction on steep slope area, correction of areas of collapsed embankments, cuts and buttresses, marine structures, revetments, slabs and mats for importing the bearing capacity, load-supporting structures and others. The theory of Reinforced Earth and the various design methods of Reinforced Earth structure have been developed up to now, But Reinforced Earth is not used, also its knowege is short of in this country. In this paper, the theory of Reinforced Earth and the methods of designing Reinforced Earth structures are summerised by analizing the foreign literatures and the shear behavior of Reinforced Earth and the behavior of Reinforced Earth wall are studied through the triaxial compression tests on the Reinforced Earth Specimens and the model tests ell the Rein-forced Earth retaining walls. It is hoped that this paper will be assist to develope the construction technique in this country.
