        The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of Lycii fructus (LF) on the lipids on serum in ovariectomized estrogen-deficient rats. Two groups were surgically ovariectomized. The third group was sham operated. From day 2 until day 37 after the ovariectomy, Sprague-Dawley female rats were raninvestigate the effects of ethanol extract, Sprague-Dawley female rats were randomly assigned to the following groups : sham-operated rats (sham), ovariectomized control rats (OVX-control), ovariectomized rats supplemented with LF extract at 50 mg/kg bw/day (OVX-LF). The LF extract as orally administrated at 1 mL per day. Body weight gain was not significantly different in groups. The levels of total cholesterol was higher in ovariectomized control rats than Sham-operated rats, but supplementation of LF ethanol extracts at 50 mg/kg bw/day decreased the level of cholesterol in surum. Moreover, the serum HDL-cholesterol levels were significantly increased after supplementation with LF extract. These results might be expected that ethanol extract of LF is believed to be possible protective effects for the fatty serum increasing serum lipid.

      • 일 대학병원 임상 간호사의 가족지지와 성격, 삶의 질과의 관계연구

        This descriptive correlational study was undertaken in order to investigate the relationship of family support and personality with quality of life of nurses in a general hospital and to provide basic data to help them improve a better quality of life. The subjects for this study were 26 nurses undergoing at C university hospital in K-city, from December, 1996 to January, 1997. The data were obtained using a convenience sampling technique. the tools used for this study were Ro's quality of life scale, Kang's family support scale and Wallston & others health locus of control scale. The collected data were analyzed by the SAS program using percentage, mean, standard deviation, pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows: 1. The total average score of the quality of life of the subjects was 140.69(minimum score 49-maximum score 217), item mean score (range 1-5) was 2.99. The total average score of the family support of the subjects was 37.14(minimum score 23-maximum score 50), item mean score (range 1-5) was 3.38. The total average score of the health locus of control of the subjects was 36.29(minimum score 24-maximum score 50), item mean score (range 1-6) was 3.30. 2. There was significant positive correlation between the health locus of control and the quality of life (r=.2628, p<0.05). The result of the analysis of the relationship between the each factor in the quality of life and health locus of control were as follows: There were significant differences between the health locus of control and self-esteem factor (r= 0.3843, p<0.01), relationship with neighbors factor (r=0.4372, p<0.05). 3. There was a significant positive correlation between the family support and the quality of life(r=0.3417, p<0.0001). The result of the analysis of the relationship between the each factor in the quality of life and family support were as follows: there were significant differences between family support and emotional state factor(r=.1494, p<0.01), economic life factor (r=.3007, p<0.0001), self-esteem factor(r=.2900, p<0.0001), physical sate and function factor (r=.2232, p<0.0001), relationship with neighbors factor (r=.2724, p<0.0001), relationship with family factor (r=.3176, <0.0001). 4. By using stepwise multiple regression analysis, it was determined that the main influencing factors on the quality of life were family support(52%), health locus of control(21%). These two main variables explained 73% of variance in quality of life.

        DNR환자 임종간호에 대한 간호사의 스트레스, 태도 및 임종간호 수행

        Purpose: This study was to evaluate the nurses’ stress, attitudes, and performance degree during terminal care towards DNR patients. Methods: Data were collected from self-report questionnaires given to 333 nurses at B hospitals located in 4 metropolitan cities. Results: The average score of terminal care stress of the subjects was 3.70, terminal care attitudes was 2.86, terminal care performance degree was 2.67. Conclusions: To improve terminal care quality towards DNR patient, it is necessary to receive the hospice ward nurse’s cooperation as soon as possible.

      • 게껍질과 계란껍질 첨가김치의 보존성 비교

        게껍질과 계란껍질이 2% 젖산용액을 어느 정도 중화시키는지를 측정하고 이를 바탕으로 실제로 김치에 첨가하였을 때이 보존성과 품질변화를 비교, 관찰하였다. CSP는 3% 첨가로 2% 젖산을 86.3%, 4% 첨가로 98.1%, 5% 첨가로 99.0%의 중화율을 나타내었으며, ESP는 5% 첨가로 31.0%의 중화율을 나타내어 중화시키는데는 ESP보다는 CSP가 효과적이었다. 게껍질과 계란껍질을 첨가한 김치의 숙성 중 pH와 산도는 CSP를 첨가한 김치가 숙성 25일에 pH 4.07, 산도 0.88, ESP를 첨가한 것은 pH 4.0, 산도 0.91로 대조구가 pH 3.82, 산도1.00인 것에 비하여 CSP와 ESP첨가 김치가 pH는 높았으며 산도는 낮게 유지되었다. 총균수는 ESP와 CSP첨가 김치에서 많았고, Lactobacilli와 Leuconostoc로 나누어 측정한 젖산균은 대조구보다는 CSP와 ESP첨가 김치에서 현저히 많았으며, 특히 ESP 첨가김치는 Lactobacilli가 많은 반면, CSP 첨가 첨가 김치는 Leuconostoc이 다소 많은 경향을 나타내였다. 관능검사는 CSP첨가 김치가 숙성 25일째에도 신맛이 3.4점으로 보통정도의 신맛과 아삭아삭한 맛은 3.0점, 종합적인 맛은 3.2점으로 가장 좋은 것으로 나타났다. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the addition of crab and egg shell on the degree of neutralization action of 2% lactic acid solution, and shelf-life and quality of baechu kimchi. The percentages of neutralization of the lactic acid at the additions of 3, 4, 5% of CSP were 86.3, 98.1, 99.0%, respectively. That of the lactic acid at the ESP addition of 5% was 31.0%. Therefore, the CSP addition to baechu kimchi showed more effective than ESP. The decrease in pH and increase in acidity at 25 days of fermentation were lower in the kimchi added CSP and ESP than in control products. The number of total cell count and lactic acid bacteria were detected more in the kimchi added CSP and ESP than in control products. The higher growth of Lactobacilli and Leuconostoc showed the kimchi added ESP and products added CSP, respectively. Sour, cripness and overall taste of kimchi added CSP at 25 days of fermentation were very good.

        대구성 빈혈의 감별 진단을 위한 망상적혈구 성숙지표의 유용성

        배경 : 대구성 빈혈은 임상에서 흔히 발견되는 질환으로 적절한치료를 위해서는 정확한 진단이 필요하다. 이 연구의 목적은 골수형성이상증후군, 거대적모구빈혈 및 만성 간질환 등 대구성 빈혈환자를 감별하기 위한 망상적혈구 성숙지표들의 임상적 유용성을평가하고자 한다.방법 : 망상적혈구검사가 의뢰된 정상대조군 34예, 거대적모구빈혈 52예, 골수형성이상증후군 31예 및 만성 간질환 196예의 자동혈구계산기에 의한 미성숙 망상적혈구 분획(IRF), 평균망상적혈구용적(MRV) 및 mean sphered cell volume (MSCV) 등망상적혈구 성숙지표의 결과를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 결과 : 거대적모구빈혈환자군, 골수형성이상증후군환자군 및 만성 간질환과 연관된 대구성빈혈환자군의 IRF, MRV 및 MSCV는 정상대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 증가되어 있었다(P<0.01). 골수형성이상증후군환자군의 IRF, MRV 및 MSCV는 만성 간질환과 연관된 대구성 빈혈환자군에 비해 유의하게 증가되어있었고(P<0.01), 만성간질환에 의한 대구성 빈혈환자군의 IRF와MRV는 거대적모구빈혈환자군에 비해 유의하게 감소되어 있었으며(P<0.01), 골수형성이상증후군환자군의 MSCV는 만성 간질환에 의한 대구성 빈혈환자군과 거대적모구빈혈환자군의 MSCV에비해 유의하게 증가되어 있었다(P<0.01).

      • 키토산 및 게껍질을 코팅한 용기내에서의 김치숙성

        담금용기의 내벽을 키토산으로 코팅하고 숙성 중 품질변화를 관찰하였다. 키토산용액으로 코팅한 용기에 담금한 것은 pH가 대조구보다 높게 유지되었고 산도는 낮게 유지되어 키토산을 양념으로 직접 혼합하지 않고도 다소의 숙성 지연효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 키토산용액에 CSP를 혼합하여 코팅한 것은 pH는 대조구와 키토산용액만으로 코팅한 것보다 높게 유지되었고 산도는 낮아 김치 숙성을 더 지연시키는 효과가 나타났다. 키토산용액으로 코팅한 용기에 담금한 것은 젖산균 생육을 억제시키는 것으로 나타난 것에 반하여 키토산용액에 CSP를 혼합하여 코팅한 것은 젖산균의 생육을 다소 활발하게 하는 것으로 나타났다. 종합적인 맛에서도 대조구는 20일, 키토산 코팅 용기에 담금한 것은 25일, CSP를 혼합한 키토산용액 코팅용기에 담금한 것은 30일까지 보통정도의 맛을 유지하여 용기 코팅으로도 숙성 지연효과를 볼 수 있는 것으로 사료된다. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of soaking bottle coated with chitosan and the mixture of crab shell and chitosan on shelf-life of kimchi. The kimchi was examined for pH, acidity, growth of lactic acid bacteria and sensory evaluation such as overall taste. The decrease in pH and increase in acidity showed lower in the kimchi coated chitosan(KCC) than in control products and showed also lower in KCC+CSP than in KCC. The growth of lactic acid bacteria in kimchi coated chitosan was inhibited, but that of the microbe in KCC+CSP propagated. The preservation periods of good overall taste of control kimchi, KCS and KCS+CSP were 20, 25 and 30 days, respectively. These results suggest that soaking bottle coated was observed to influence to shelf-life of kimchi.
