In this paper, we present theoretical and experimental study on the viscous damping of the on-substrate torsional micromirrors, oscillating near the silicon substrates. In this theoretical study, we develop theoretical models and test structures for the viscous damping of the on-substrate torsional micromirrors. From a finite element analysis, we estimate the theoretical damping coefficients of the torsional micromirrors. From the electrostatic test of the fabricated devices, frequency-dependent rotationalvelocity of the micromirrors has been measured at the atmospheric pressure using devices, frequency-dependent rotational velocity of the micromirrors has been measured at the atmospheric pressure using the Mach-Zehnder interferometer system. Experimental damping coefficients have been extracted from the least square fit of the measured rotational velocity within the filter bandwidth of 150 kHz. We have compared the theoretical values and the experimental results on the dynamic performance of the micromirrors. The theoretical analysis overstimates the resonant frequency in the amount of 15%, while underestimating the viscous damping in the factors of 10%.
Fluoroscope 시야에서 K-강선을 이용한 비골골절의 3차원적 지지법

Background: Fracture of the nasal bone is the most common fracture of a facial bone because, among the other structures, A nose is prone to be traumatized. The nasal bone fracture is simply reduced by using the conventional closed reduction method. Though several temporary expedients have been introduced to stabilite the reduced bony segments, long-term follow-up study shows grave results. Materials and Methods: From May 1999 to Mar 2001, 34 patients with nasal bone fractures were treated. Before the reduction, the type of fracture was precisely evaluated and reduced using a fluoroscope. After the anatomical reduction of the nasal bone, including the nasal septum, had been made, two K-wires were introduced through the triangular space between the nasal bone and the bony nasal septum. The direction of the K-wire was decided based on the type of fractures. The inserted K-wires were removed 14 days after the operation. Results: In all 34 cases, good cosmetic and functional results were observed without complications, and during a short-term follow-up period, no recurrences were found. Conclusion: This method may be helpful for reductions and fixations of fractured segments, but above all, it is a much more comfortable method for the patients during their daily lives.

This study analyzed the actual condition of elderly’s daily participation in physical activities, the reason of participation, and demand for the participation in the activities to suggest prospective policies for activation of physical activities for the aged people, utilizing ‘Fact-finding Research with Participation in 2012 Sport for All’. The result of study were as follows: The first, the elderly who participated in the physical activities more than 3 times a week in 2012 occupied 30% and more than 5 years occupied over 50%, but non-participants were 49.3% in the people of 60 years old and 57.2% in the people of 70 years old. The second, the people aged more than 60 years highly satisfied in using physical training facilities, participating in programs, and having benefits from instructors, but they had lack of experiences of the physical training facilities, programs, and instructors. The third, the demand for expansion of the physical facilities from the elderly was analyzed to be very high, and their preferences were particularly in public sports facilities and all kinds of welfare facilities.

Microsurgical techniques have developed numerous territories suitable for free tissue transfer. However, there are so many flaps in plastic and reconstructive surgical field, so no one dare to say which flap is the best. The radiovolar area of the forearm constitutes a versatile source for composite tissue free flap reconstruction for many areas of the body. The skin is thin and relatively hairless, and the vascular pedicle is long and large caliber. The flap can be harvested conjunction with tendons and bone. The skin can be reliably reinnervated. We have used 32 radial forearm free flaps to reconstruct defect in various areas of the body resulting from tumor ablation, post bum scar contracture and penile amputation injury. We had two flap failures, one developed necrosis from venous thrombus formation, the other from the infection due to sepsis. Thirty of 32 flaps survived completely. Overall survival rate was 94%. the donor sites have been relatively inconspicuous.
편도암 절제후 요골측 전박 유리피판을 이용한 재건 및 술후 구음 기능의 평가

Four consecutive patients underwent composite resection of tonsillar cancer and reconstruction with a microvascular radial forearm free flap. Three patients had postoperative assessments of speech at six to nine months respectively. One patient could not attend for the postoperative assessment. The speech assessment was examined by same speech therapist. All the patients had an good postoperative speech assessment. Compared to conventional local or regional myocutaneous flaps, the thin forearm free flaps offers better postoperative articulatory recovery.
Prostaglandin E₁과 Allopurinol이 피판 생존에 미치는 영향

Pathological vasospasm and free radical production contribute to skin flap survival. This study was undertaken to determine if combination therapy with anti-free radical agent-allopurinol and the vasodilatoprostaglandin E₁results in the synergistic enhacement of skin flap survival in rats. Twenty Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups. With five rats in each group, group I being the control, group II was given intravenous allopurinol, group III was given transdermal PGE₁, and group IV was given both intravenous allopurinol and transdermal PGE₁. Control group demonstrated 27.7±3.0% skin flap survival. Compared to the control group, the increase in survival rate in PGE₁ group was statistically significant with a p value of less than 0.01. The group of both PGE₁ and allopurinol were given, mean flap survival rate was significantly higher than control group (p<0.01), but statistically insignificant compared to the single agent administered group. This study demonstrated combination therapy with the two agents-intravenous allopurinol and transd PGE₁-fails to confer additive benefit on flap survival in comparison with the groups given a single agent. This lack of additive effect may be due to a common final mechanism of action or to the presence of another pathological mechanisms of ischemic necrosis are present. Based upon this data, only single agent, transdermal PGE₁ is recommended for the pharmcological adjuvant of the compromising flap and further studies may be needed for the evaluation of the correct mechanisms of allopurinol in flap survival.
