This study was performed to evaluate the new surgical technique for debarking. Of the 8 mongrel dogs which underwent devocalization, 4 heads (group 1) received complete surgical removal of the vocal cords and another 4 heads (group 2) received fixation of vocal cords and vocal processes onto the thyroid cartilage. Volume of each dogs' voices was measured by a sound level meter(Function A) over 7 months at intervals of 10 days. All experimental animals'hematological values were measured before operation and postoperative at 2i 5 and 10 days. The changes of volume of dogs'voices and hematological values were analyzed by paired t-test. The volume in the dogs'voices in each group after operation was significantly lower than that before operation. At this results we detected that devocalizing effect was the same in each group. Postoperative volume of dogs'voices in group 1 had a tendency to increaser but group 2 had a tendency to decrease. The number of erythrocytes at 2 days after operation was significantly fewer than those before operation in group 1, but the group 2 did not have significant changes. The number of leukocytes at 2 days after operation significantly increased from those before operation in group 11 but the group 2 did not have significant changes. It was concluded that the new surgical technique, fixation of vocal cords and vocal processes onto the thyroid cartilages could be available for the devocalization of dogs and for the prevention of postoperative inflammation and blood loss.

The decommissioning of a nuclear power plant generates large amounts of radioactive waste, which is of several types. Radioactive concrete powder is classified as low-level waste, which can be disposed of in a landfill. However, its safe disposal in a landfill requires that it be immobilized by solidification using cement. Herein, a safety assessment on the disposal of solidified radioactive concrete powder waste in a conceptual landfill site is performed using RESRAD. Furthermore, sensitivity analyses of certain selected input parameters are conducted to investigate their impact on exposure doses. The exposure doses are estimated, and the relative impact of each pathway on them during the disposal of this waste is assessed. The results of this study can be used to obtain information for designing a landfill site for the safe disposal of low-level radioactive waste generated from the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant.

우리나라의 온천의 67.82%가 농촌지역에 있다. 이 온천들의 대부분이 시설이 노후화되어 있고 현재의 여가 패턴 변화를 수용하지 못해 이용객이 감소하고 있다. 이용객의 감소는 농촌지역의 경제적 쇠퇴를 가져왔다. 유럽의 온천은 보양온천으로 치료 및 보양을 위해 사용되고 있으며 단순한 일회성 온천관광이 아닌 가족들이 즐기고 질병을 치료하며 장기간 체류를 하는 곳이다. 따라서 현재 농촌지역 온천을 활성화하기위해서 온천 시설을 개선하고 보완하여 보양온천으로 전환하여야 한다. 그러기 위해서는 첫째 통합적으로 된 보양온천 시설기준을 치료효능과 목적에 따라 분류하고 치료목적에 맞는 의료적 시설을 세부적으로 설치해야 한다. 둘째, 치유와 연계된 휴게 내부 공간 혹은 외부의 녹지 공간 설치 및 확충이 필요하다. 셋째, 의학적 치료나 이와 관련된 프로그램 및 치료기구 개발을 위한 연구시설이 추가되어야 한다. 넷째, 치료 프로그램 및 시설과 연계된 오락 등의 다양한 레크레이션 시설을 설치하는 것이 바람직하며 주변 환경과 소통하는 자연 개방형의 친환경 건축설계를 시행해야한다.

The use of insoluble electrodes in electrolytic oxidation for the removal of non-biodegradable organic matter, color, odor, and ammonia nitrogen from wastewater has recently received significant research attention.ᅠ When employing electrochemical oxidation as a water treatment process, considering the water treatment characteristics of the electrodes and scale formation is important for efficient operation. Therefore, in this paper, the treatment characteristics and scale formation properties of an electrochemical oxidation approach that uses insoluble electrodes for the tertiary treatment of paper mill wastewater were analyzed. In particular, the effects of the operational conditions on the treatment efficiency and the occurrence of scaling were investigated. Electrolytic oxidation experiments using secondary treated pulp and paper wastewater demonstrated that it is possible to achieve a removal efficiency of 43.9% for TOC, 46.4% for TCODMn, and 89.9% for color. During the batch operation period of four weeks, an analysis of the scaling components formed on the electrodes revealed substances that resembled cement and putty in their composition. Furthermore, it was observed that scale removal from the electrodes was insufficient solely using the cross-operation of normal and reverse power supply. .
