A 4 years and 8 months old girl had accidentally swallowed coins while playing on sofa. She immediately complained of a painful sensation in her throat and chest. Radiograph of the chest at a local clinic showed the coins located at the gastroesophageal junction. She was admitted to our hospital 24 hours after the accident, when her physical examinatioa was normal and the coins failed to be moved. One hour thereafter, two coins(500 won and 50 won) were dislodged from the gastroesophageal junction witb biopsy forceps:on gastroendoscope (Olympus GIF-Q10). The following day, she was discharged without complicaitions.

19세기말에서부터 불교에 대한 관심은 전 세계로 퍼져나가고 있다. 중남미에서의 불교에 대한 관심도 구미에서의 불교에 대한 관심도에 비하여 뒤지지 않고 있다. 니체에 관심을 보이는 지식인부터 선문답을 흉내 내는 지식인까지 불교의 공에 대한 관심은 세기를 넘어서 오늘날까지 중남미에서 지속되고 있다. 중남미인들이 공의 논리를 얼마나 천착하고 있었을까? 그들의 공의 논리는 불교적인 것인가? 실존주의적인 것인가? 그러한 답변은 중남미를 대표하는 작가이자 사상가인 보르헤스를 통해서 어느 정도 이루어질 수 있다. 보르헤스의 공의 논리를 나가르주나의 공의 논리 중 핵심인 본체의 부정, 원인과 결과의 부정, 운동과 변화의 부정의 세 가지 논리로 살펴보고자 한다.

보르헤스(Jorge Luis Borges)와 불교가 아주 밀접한 관계에 있는 듯 말하면 잘못이다. 이와 반대로 보르헤스와 불교가 관계가 없는 듯 말하는 것도 잘못이다. 보르헤스는 불교를 알고 있었고 선불교도 알고 있었다. 불교에 관한 강의를 한 바도 있고 불교입문서도 저술한 바 있다. 그러나 그의 삶에 불교가 얼마나 영향을 미쳤는가 그 영향도를 확정짓는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니다. 또한 보르헤스가 불교적 테마를 다룬 것도 분명한 사실이다. 그러나 그가 다룬 불교적 소재가 단순한 작품전개의 장식적 요소로 작용하는지 아니면, 작품구조 자체가 불교의 철학에 바탕을 둔 독특한 방식을 띄고 있는지 불교 영향정도를 가늠하는 것은 쉽지 않다. 이 소고는 불교가 보르헤스 작품의 소재정도로 끝나는 것이 아니라 작품의 중요한 테마이며 작품의 형식에 결정적인 영향을 미쳤다는 것을 제시하고자 쓰여졌다. 이미 이와 관련하여 국내외에서 나름대로의 시론들이 나와있다. 그러나, 이 소고에서는 보르헤스 텍스트가 가지는 구조와 공안 텍스트가 가지는 구조의 동일성을 파라독스의 사용, 공의 지향, 독창성의 추고, 옥시모른의 사용, 담론층위의 파괴를 통해 살펴보고자 한다. Este articulo fue escrito bajo la premisa de que el budismo influy6 no sblo en las materias primas dr las obras borgianas sin0 tambib en el tema y la estructura de las obras. Al respecto se publicaron unos ensayos fuera o dentro de nuestro pais, Corea. No obstante quiero verificar la similiraridad entre el texto de koan y el de Borges en 10s aspect0 asi corno el us0 de la paradoja, la orientacibn por la suiiata, la busqueda por la originalidad, el us0 del oximoron y la metalepsis.

Medial Wall Orbital Reconstruction using Unsintered Hydroxyapatite Particles/Poly L-Lactide Composite Implants

Background: Poly-L-lactide materials combined with hydroxyapatite (u-HA /PLLA) have been developed to overcome the drawbacks of absorbable materials, such as radiolucency and comparably less implant strength. This study was designed to evaluate the usefulness of u-HA/PLLA material in the repair of orbital medial wall defects. Methods: This study included 10 patients with pure medial wall blow-out fractures. The plain radiographs were taken preoperatively, immediately after, and 2 months after surgery. The computed tomography scans were performed preoperatively and 2 months after surgery. Patients were evaluated for ease of manipulation, implant immobility, rigidity and complications with radiologic studies. Results: None of the patients had postoperative complications, such as infection or enophthalmos. The u-HA/PLLA implants had adequate rigidity, durability, and stable position on follow-up radiographic studies. On average, implants were thawed 3.4 times and required 14 minutes of handling time. Conclusion: The u-HA/PLLA implants are safe and reliable for reconstruction of orbital medial wall in terms of rigidity, immobility, radiopacity, and cost-effectiveness. These thin yet rigid implants can be useful where wide periosteal dissection is difficult due to defect location or size. Since the u-HA/PLLA material is difficult to manipulate, these implants are not suitable for use in complex 3-dimensional defects.

We systematically investigated the effects of InAs coverage variation, two-step annealing and an asymmetric InGaAs quantum well (QW) on the structural and optical characteristics of InAs quantum dots (QDs) by using atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and photoluminescence (PL) measurement. The transition of size distribution of InAs QDs from bimodal to multi-modal was noticeably observed with increasing InAs coverage. By means of two-step annealing, it is found that significant narrowing of the luminescence linewidth (from 132 to 31 meV) from the InAs QDs occurs together with about 150 meV blueshift, compared to as-grown InAs QDs. Finally, the InAs QDs emitting at longer wavelength of $1.3\;{\mu}m$ with narrow linewidth were grown by an asymmetric InGaAs QW. The excited-state transition for the InAs QDs with an asymmetric InGaAs QW was not noticeably observed due to the large energy-level spacing between the ground states and the first excited states. The InAs QDs with an asymmetric InGaAs QW will be promising for the device applications such as $1.3\;{\mu}m$ optical-fiber communication.

The Origin Myth of Sun and Moon in the Andean and Korean Traditions

This essay begins with the interesting fact that Korea and Peru have in common the rope motif in their cultural traditions of the sun and moon creation. The origin myths of the sun and the moon all over the world have caught on steadily in folklore studies. But it is not easy to find any previous comparison between Korean origin myths and Peruvian ones, with all their peculiar comparable elements. Based on Lévi-Strauss’s theory of mythemes, we seek to analyse the Korean story ‘The Brother and Sister who Became Sun and Moon’ and the Andean ‘Wakon and the Willkas’ in terms of five mythemic aspects: the revelation of a primordial time; the single mother and her journey; the twins or siblings; the trickster, predator or victimiser; and the cosmic rope and the transit between upper and lower worlds. In both traditions we find a common mythological structure in spite of their apparent differences. When the myths employ the rope in a similar way, it hardly seems cross cultural but uniquely culture specific. When it comes to this similarity, however, their relationship or influence will need explicating in further comprehensive studies.

소유-지배 괴리도가 연구개발지출을 이용한 이익조정 및 법인세 유연화에 미치는 영향

"[Purpose]This study aims to analyze the effect of ownership-control disparity on earning management using R&D expenditure and GAAP ETR smoothing. [Methodology]From 2015 to 2019, a regression analysis was conducted for securities-listed companies using earning management and GAAP ETR smoothing as dependent variables. [Findings]It was found that the higher the ownership-control disparity, the higher the earning management behavior through R&D expenditure. Also, it was found that the higher the ownership-control disparity, the higher the GAAP ETR smoothing. It is analyzed that this is due to the problem of agents arising from companies with a ownership-control disparity. In addition, evidence was confirmed that the GAAP ETR smoothing played a mediating role in the relationship between ownership-control disparity and earning management through R&D expenditure. [Implications]As a result of this study, it was possible to confirm the occurrence of an agent problem due to the ownership-control disparity between the company." "[연구목적]본 연구에서는 소유-지배 괴리도가 연구개발 지출을 통한 이익조정 및 법인세 유연화에 미치는 영향을 검증한다. 그리고 소유-지배 괴리도에 따른 대리인 문제가 법인세 유연화를 통하여 연구개발 지출을 이용한 이익조정에 부정적인 영향을 미치는지 분석하였다. [연구방법]2015년에서 2019년까지 유가증권 상장기업을 대상으로 하여 연구개발 지출을 이용한 이익조정 및 법인세 유연화를 종속변수로 하는 회귀모형을 분석하였으며, 법인세 유연화의 매개효과를 검증하기 위한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. [연구결과]소유-지배 괴리도가 높을수록 연구개발 지출을 통한 이익조정 행위가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 소유-지배 괴리도가 높은 기업일수록 공격적인 세무발생액을 이용하며 법인세율 유연화가 증가한다는 사실을 확인하였다. 그리고 소유-지배 괴리도와 연구개발 지출을 이용한 이익 조정간 관련성에 대하여 법인세 유연화가 매개 역할을 한다는 증거를 발견하였다. [연구의 시사점]본 연구는 소유-지배 괴리도가 연구개발 지출을 이용한 이익조정 및 법인세 유연화에 영향을 미치는 요인이 될 수 있다는 증거를 제공함으로써 선행연구에 공헌한다. 그리고 소유-지배 괴리에 따른 대리인 문제로 인한 법인세율 유연화가 이익조정에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 사실을 제시함으로써 지배주주의 편법적 지배력 강화 방지를 위한 제도적 규제에 관한 논의에 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대한다."
