To evaluate the antitumm activity and immune rsponse of Bujunghoedo!aaCtnng(BJHDn, studies were done experimentally. The rsulLF were OMaineed as fallow: 1. BJHDT e m c b erhibitcd a wmk eytotoxieity against SKOV-3, and SK-MELJ cell lines, while it showed a good effectivaes against BlE-FIO up to 80% of control at concenmion of over 0.25mg/ml 2. BJHDT emcG signifimtly showed an inhibitor, effect on DNA topowmewz I from calf thpw at 500 mglmf. 3. BJHDT eXhaetS showed antiadhesive rates against A549, 30% at 0.5 dm!, 80% at 1 mplm!. 4. BJHDT exmcb inhibited CAM angiogenesis up to 40%. 6. BIHDT extracb prolonged life span of ICR mice bearing S-180 sarcoma cells up to 127.1%. 7. In FACS analysis, the population of helper T cell and tended to increase. 8. Pmliferatbn rate of splenoeyte WBS inneased at 0.5mglml or more in a dase dependent fashim as compared with Control. These resulb suggested that BIHDT exham might k usefully applied for treatment of cancer and also it was necessary m do more studies about its mechanisms.
犀角地黃湯과 加味犀角地黃湯이 Endotoxin으로 誘發된 白鼠의 血栓症에 미치는 影響

This study was performed to prove the clinical effects of Seogagjihwangtang (SGT) and Kami-Seogagjihwangtang (KGT) by way of experimental methods. The intravascular coagulation was induced by injection of endotoxin into the caudal vein of rats. And liquid extracts of Seogagjihwangtang and Kami-Seogagjihwangtang were administered orally to the rats. Then the number of platelets, concentration of fibrinogen, FDP (fibrin-fibrinogen degradation products), prothrombin time, and PTT (partial thromboplastin time) was measured. The results were obtained as follows; 1. The number of platelets was significantly increased in SGT-and KGT-treated groups in comparison with the control group. 2. Fibrinogen was significantly increased in SGT-and KGT-treated groups as compared with the control group. 3. FDP was significantly decreased only in SGT-treated group in comparison with control group. 4. Prothrombin time was significantly shortened in SGT-and KGT-treated groups as compared with the control group. 5. PTT was significantly shortented in SGT-and KGT-treated groups in comparison with the control group. From the above results, it was throught that Seogagjihwangtang and Kami-Seogagjihwangtang could be applied effectively in the thrombosis and bleeding diseases.

Objectives : The aim of this report is to evaluate antitumor efficacy of Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction (Chijong-tang). Methods : One advanced gastric cancer patient with peritoneal seeding and mesenteric metastasis visited Hana integrative Clinic of Korean medicine in Aug 2012 and was treated with Chijong-tang for 14 months. Results : Chijong-tang showed no side effect during its treatment (Aug 2012 ~ Oct 2013) and the patient showed no disease progression. Conclusion : This case report suggests that Rhus vernifciflua Stokes decoction (Chijong-tang) can be a potent anticancer agent for gastric cancer, but it still required further scientific and clinical evidence.

Background & Objectives: Colorectal Cancer is 10% of all cancer incidence and the motality from colorectal cancer is nearly 450,000 a year. Since chemopreventive agents from Herbal medicine is hot issue recently, to prove antitumor effecicacy of Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction (Chijong-dan), clinical study was carried out. Here we report one patient with colorectal cancer of stage IV. The patient had a colorectal cancer (Stage IV, T4N2M1), lymph node metastases and underwent chemotherapy. Methods: The patient visited Hana oriental medicine Clinic in 2009 and was treated using Chijong-dan for 1 year at Hana Oriental Clinic. Results: Chijongdan showed no side effect during its treatment and tumor size was retarded based on CT scanning. Overall, this case report suggests that Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction can be a potent cancer preventive agents for colorectal cancer but it is still required to verify the scientific and clinical evidences for Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction (Chijong-dan).
옻나무 전탕추출물 한방치료와 항암화학요법을 병용한 대장암 4기 환자 2례

The other patient with liver metastasis underwent chemotherapy. All of two patients acquired tolerance. Methods : One patient visited Hana oriental medicine Clinic in 2010 and was treated using Chijong-tang for 17 months at Hana Oriental Clinic. The other patient visited Hana oriental medicine Clinic in 2011 and was treated using Chijong-tang for 5 months at Hana Oriental Clinic. Results : Chijong-tang showed no side effect, no more tolerance during its treatment with chemotherapy and tumor size was retarded based on CT scanning. Overall, this case report suggests that Rhus vernifciflua STOKES can be a potent cancer preventive agents for colorectal cancer but it is still required to verify the scientific and clinical evidences for Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction (Chijong-tang).
항암제와 함께 옻나무 전탕추출물(치종탕)을 복용한 암환자의 간기능 검사에 대한 후향적 조사

Objectives : The aim of this study was to evaluate safety of Rhus Verniciflua STOKES as a combination therapy of Oriental and conventional cancer treatment. So, We investigated liver function test(especially total bilirubin, AST, ALT, and ALP) levels in outpatients at an oriental medical clinic, to know whether Rhus Verniciflua STOKES decotion (Chijongtang) was hepatotoxic. The outpatients were treated with Rhus Verniciflua STOKES decotion(Chijongtang) during intravenous or oral chemotherapy. Methods : We surveyed whether Chijongtang caused liver injury in patients, who visited and took Chijongtang at Hana oriental medical clinic, from March, 2008 to November 2011. We looked over all the liver function tests of those patients, done during medication. Patients who had no records of liver function tests or with basal liver disease were excluded. And patients were classified into normal and abnormal liver function groups. Results and Conclusions : 48 patients were enrolled, and their mean dosage was 300ml/day, and the mean medication period was 9.3 (2-42) months. During and after medication, there were no abnormal liver function test results at all, in the normal liver function group. and 10 out of 11 patients in the abnormal liver function group showed normal liver function test levels. Roughly speaking, according to the above results, it seems that taking Chijongtang did not cause hepatotoxicity. And it seems Chijongtang has hepatoprotective effect. But we still need more laboratory and clinical research to reach a more definitive conclusion.
