역사의 삼대 원리연구(三大原理硏究) (중) : 역사학과 역학(易學)과의 관계를 중심으로
성주탁 忠南大學校 1970 論文集 Vol.9 No.-
In the previously published paper,(1969.9)a new tendency of historical sciences was reviewed followed by a statement on Time, Space, and Human Being as the three principles of history. Yeuk(Change)consists of trinity: Yeuk of Time, Yeuk of Space, and Yeuk of Human Eeing in accordance with three Principles of history This paper aims to dsecribe the relation between the three priciples of history and those in the trinity of Yeuk. Yeuk is made of won(元)Hyong(享), Li(利)and Jeung(貞), which respectively means the four seaseons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and winter. In other words, the basic thought of Yeukbook of Change is the explanation of the three principles of heaven, earth and human being by the two principles of the cosmic dual forces - Eum(陰) and Yang(陽), cold and heat, sun and moon, day and night, man and woman, all things in the universe belong to this category. The change of Eum and Yang makes a day, and cold and heat at the lapse of time. As time passes by eternally, history comes into being from the past to the future endlessly. This accounts for the relation between the time of history and the time of Yeuk. Human being spends some limited portion of the endless continuation of time. In Yeuk principle, the system of time consists of eight signs of divination Gun(乾), Gon(坤), Jin(震), Son(巽), Gam(坎), Li(離), Can(艮), and Tai(兌), This means not only the eight points of compass in space, but vernal equinox, summer solstice, autumnal equinox and winter solstice in time. Thus history contains the meanging of time, while Yeuk explainsthat principle.
