Effects of Drying Methods Based on Exhaust Cycle and Time on the Quality and Drying of Red Peppers

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a system to optimize drying potential energy of the exhausted hot air bychanging relative humidity of the air. This study modified the conventional drying method into a drying method changingexhaust cycle and time in order to control the relative humidity of the exhausted hot air during drying process. Method: Avalve on the vent was controlled according to a preset time to change the exhaust cycle and time. This study analyzed theinfluence of the two different types of drying method on the drying characteristics, required energy, and quality of the driedpeppers: conventional drying method exhausting hot air continuously and new drying method controlling exhaust cycle andtime. Results: Drying characteristics based on exhaust time showed that drying time increased with exhaust time, andspecific energy consumption was reduced by 28% from 18.39 MJ/kg (conventional method) to 13.24 MJ/kg when exhausttime was set to one minute. Drying characteristics based on heating time showed that drying time increased with heatingtime and specific energy consumption was reduced by 30% from 18.39 MJ/kg (conventional method) to 12.87 MJ/kg whenexhaust time was set to 22 minutes. Drying characteristics based on exhaust cycle showed that drying time increased withexhaust cycle, and specific energy consumption was reduced by 31% from 18.39 MJ/kg (conventional method) to 12.69MJ/kg when exhaust time was set to one minute and exhaust cycle was set to 22 minutes before drying and 40 minutes afterdrying. The quality of the dried red peppers showed that capsaicin, color, and sugar content were high as 34.87 mg/100g,66.33, and 11.87%, respectively, when exhaust time was set to one minute and exhaust cycle was set to 22 minutes beforedrying and 40 minutes after drying. Conclusions: In order to utilize the drying potential energy of the exhausted air duringdrying process, the conventional drying method was modified into the drying method controlling exhaust cycle and time. The results showed that drying with exhaust cycle of one minute was more efficient in terms of drying time, requiredenergy, and quality of the dried peppers than the one with exhaust cycle of 20~40 minutes.

인간은 자유롭게 선택하고 결정한 행위를 통해 매일의 삶을 살아가며 자신의 행복, 혹은 자기 실현이라는 궁극적인 목표를 완성하기 위해서 노력하는 존재이다. 그런데 우리는 이러한 인간의 목표가 윤리적으로 옳고 좋은 행위를 통해 이루어져야 한다는 윤리적 요구에 직면하고 있음을 인식하고 있다. 다시 말하면, 인간의 행복, 혹은 자기 실현은 인간이 그러한 도덕적인 요구에 합당하게 자기의 선택과 결정을 해명할 때 비로소 가능한 것이다. 그런데 인간이 자유를 통해서 결정하고 수행한 행위에 대한 합당한 해명은, 그 행위가 본래 초월적인 우리의 자유를 우리 스스로가 올바르게 구체화하여 실현된 것이어야만 가능하다. 이러한 인간의 자유의 구체화는 인간이 지닌 도덕적 능력을 통해서 가능하다. 윤리학에서는 인간의 행위를 도덕적으로 이끌어줄 수 있는 원리이자 동시에 인간이 지닌 능력으로서 자유와 책임, 이성과 양심 등을 제시한다. 자율로서의 적극적인 인간의 자유에 대한 올바른 인식은 인간이 지닌 상호 책임성에 의해 올바르고 정당하게 자기 실현을 추구하도록 우리를 일깨우며, 궁극적인 선을 인식하며 긍정하는 능력인 이성을 통해 인간 본래의 모습을 행위를 통해 구현하도록 이끌어 준다. 또한 이 구체적인 선택과 결정은 ‘선을 행하고 악을 피하라’는 윤리의 최고 실천 원리를 통해 다시금 검증을 받는다. 이렇게 우리의 구체적인 일상의 행위들은 책임과 이성, 그리고 양심을 통해 구체화된 자유이며 도덕적 행위인 것이다. 인간은 이렇게 구체화된 자유를 살아가며 자기를 실현하는 윤리적 존재이다.
우 수정란의 동결보존에 관한 연구 I. 성선자극홀몬과 $PGF_{2\alpha}$의 투여에 따른 난소반응

This study was carried out with 46 cows to investigate the ovarian response to the administration of PMSG, PGF2$\alpha$ and hCG, and the developmental stage of embryos recovered. Superovulation was induced by the injection of 2,000IU to 3,000IU PMSG on the days of 7-13 of the estrus cycle followed 48 hours later by the injection of 22.5mg PGF2$\alpha$. Of 29 cows treated with 3,000IU PMSG and 22.5mg PGF2$\alpha$ 18 cows were given 2,000IU hCG at the onset and 7 after artificial insemination. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The number of developed follicles per cow after an injection of 2,000, 2,500, 3,000IU of PMSG and 3,000 PMSG-2,000IU hCG in combination with 22.5mg PGF2$\alpha$ were 12.6, 19.6, 21.5 and 29.3, respectively. This result indicated that the no. of developed follicles per cow was increased according to the increase of PMSG dosage and the combination with hCG injection. 2. The highest number of ovulation was 17.1 in cows treated with PMSG-hCG and the number of matured corpus luteum was increase as the dosage of PMSG was higher. 3. Ovulation rate from cows treated with 2,500IU PMSG was 71.0% and this reulst was higher than the average of ovulation rate (59.3%). 4. Average recovery rate was 36.8%(232/631), and the number of ova per cow was 5.0. 5. Of 232 recovered embryos, the number of morulae and blastocysts were 76 (32.8%) and 83 (35.8%), respectively. 6. 28.4% of total recovered embryos was abonormal morphologically.
