Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant disorder caused by mutations in mismatch repair (MMR) genes and is also known to be associated with glioblastomas. The efficacy of immunotherapy for LS-associated glioblastomas remains unknown. Herein, we report a rare case of LS-associated glioblastoma, treated with chemotherapy using immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). A 41-year-old female patient presented with headaches and sensory disturbances in the right upper limb for 6 weeks. She had been treated for rectal cancer and had a family history of LS. MRI revealed two ring-enhancing lesions in the left precentral gyrus. She underwent subtotal resection, leading to a pathological diagnosis of isocitrate dehydrogenase wild-type glioblastoma. She received daily administration of (temozolomide, 75 mg/m2) and concurrent radiotherapy (60 Gy) postoperatively. However, the tumor recurred 1 year after the initial treatment. A molecular genetic study showed high microsatellite instability (MSI), and she was treated with pembrolizumab therapy. Disease progression occurred despite six cycles of pembrolizumab therapy and radiotherapy at the dose of 40 Gy. She died due to glioblastoma progression 19 months after the initial treatment. The present case demonstrates that some LS-associated glioblastomas may be resistant to ICI despite high MSI, possibly because of intratumor heterogeneity related to MMR deficiency.
Cooperative Operation of Two Combine Robots for Rice Harvesting

In order to solve shortage and aging of working force in Japanese agriculture, automation of agricultural machinery is promoted and is merged with information and communication technology (ICT) currently. Therefore, two robots, that are 4-row head-feeding combines, have been developed to automate rice harvesting work in Kyoto University. They are installed a multi-GNSS receiver, a GPS compass, and an IMU as navigation sensors. To increase the efficiency of farming operation, a cooperative harvesting system by combination of two robots was reported in ISMAB 2016. In that system, two robots could harvest rice side-by-side along target spiral path in the same field. As the next step, a block harvesting method by two robots is proposed in this study. After a human-driven combine harvested rice crop to make the turning space at the headland, two robots independently harvest two blocks of rice crops divided by “Nakawari”, that is the harvesting method to divide rice area into two. In this harvesting operation, the combine robot turns by 180-deg-turn (U-turn) at the headland. For the purpose, the 180-deg-turn control for combine robot was developed. In order to evaluate performance of cooperative harvesting operations by two combine robots, harvesting test was conducted in a rice paddy field. As a result, the efficiency of harvesting operation increases up to 24 % in comparison with the side-by-side harvesting method.

A 7-year-old spayed female Welsh corgi presented with a mass of the skull. The mass was diagnosed asmultilobular bone tumor and surgically removed. To treat a large bone defect after the tumor removal, custom-madeartificial bone fabricated by a 3-dimensional ink-jet printer was implanted in the defect. Follow-up computed tomographyevaluation was performed for 4.3 years. The implant was well integrated with the skull and had covered the largebone defect during the follow-up period. Gradual degradation of the implant began 6 weeks after surgery. It providesan additional option for the treatment of large bone defect.
