Entrepreneurship and Training Programs for Young Entrepreneurs in the New Era: An Empirical Study from Indonesia

Abdul MUSLIM(Abdul MUSLIM ),Nadiroh NADIROH(Nadiroh NADIROH ),Dewi Eka ARINI(Dewi Eka ARINI ) 한국유통과학회 2023 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.10 No.1

This study aims to determine the factors that influence training programs in increasing entrepreneurial success as a new model for developing entrepreneurship training in a new era. It intended to provide a suggestion for building an entrepreneurship training model for Beginner Young Entrepreneurs (BYE) organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Indonesia. The study used a quantitative method by collecting data through a Google form questionnaire distributed via the WhatsApp group. This study employs samples from 358 BYE training participants for 2017-2020, and data was processed using Amos SEM software to analyze factors that influence the success of entrepreneurship. The results showed that entrepreneurial motivation is a partial mediator in increasing the effect of training on its success by BYE participants. Furthermore, the key factor for increasing entrepreneurial motivation is challenging young people to start businesses. This study recommends that BYE program policymakers build a training model by considering many practical case studies to increase motivation as an important mediator in influencing entrepreneurial success. Meanwhile, to boost the morale of training participants, it is necessary to add significant real challenges for participants to start entrepreneurship. Moreover, future studies should add other independent variables, such as personality.

The effects of orchiectomy and steroid on fertility in experimental testicular atrophy

Muslim Yurtcu,Sumeyye Kozacioglu,Rahim Kocabas The Korean Society for Reproductive Medicine 2023 Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine Vol.50 No.2

Objective: Despite our understanding of Sertoli cell function and the state of spermatogenesis, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study was conducted to compare the effects of orchiectomy and steroid treatment on fertility in testicular atrophy occurring after testicular torsion. Methods: Thirty-three rats were divided into four groups. The atrophy, orchiectomy, and atrophy-steroid groups each contained nine rats, while the control group contained six. The left testes were rotated 720°, and atrophy was observed. In the atrophy-steroid rats, orchiectomy was performed after atrophy, and 1 mg/kg steroid was injected. Each male rat was housed with five female rats for 6 days. The fertility of the male rats was evaluated based on the pregnancy of the female rats. Left and right orchiectomies were performed to determine the tissue Johnsen score (JS) and the serum inhibin B (IB) level. Results: JS values were significantly lower in the atrophy, orchiectomy, and atrophy-steroid groups than in the control group (p<0.05), while no significant difference was observed in JS between the atrophy and orchiectomy groups (p>0.05). Similarly, no significant differences in IB level or fertility percentage were found between the atrophy and orchiectomy rats (p>0.05). Conclusion: In unilateral testicular atrophy, which can occur in the prepubertal period due to various causes, orchiectomy does not appear to benefit fertility, as indicated by IB, JS, and the fertility percentage.

Precision machining by discharge pulse counting methods in micro EDM processes

Muslim Mahardika,Gunawan Setia Prihandana,Kimiyuki Mitsui 대한기계학회 2012 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.26 No.11

Due to the occurrences of debris, the ability of micro-EDM to produce precise dimension is degraded, hence positioning display indicator of micro-EDM machine is not accurately measure the real dimension. Therefore, imprecise workpiece dimension is happen. In order to overcome this problem, in this paper, the use of discharge pulse counting methods to correct this error is introduced. The dimension error from micro-EDM processes by using discharge pulse counting method is much smaller than when using the positioning display indicator of micro-EDM machine. Hence, by using discharge pulse counting method, high precision machining can be achieved.

Adsorption of Pb(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution Using Activated Carbon Prepared from Areca Catechu Shell: Kinetic, Isotherm and Thermodynamic Studies

        Muslim, A.,Aprilia, S.,Suha, T.A.,Fitri, Z. Korean Chemical Society 2017 대한화학회지 Vol.61 No.3

This study proposed adsorption of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution using activated carbon prepared from areca catechu shell (ACS AC) using Timphan Method. The effects of independent variables on adsorption kinetic and isotherm have been investigated by conducting experiments in batch mode at neutral pH. The structural characterization of adsorbent was done by FT-IR and SEM analysis. The Pb(II) adsorption was correlated very well with the pseudo second-order kinetic (PSOKM) and Langmuir isotherm models (LIM). Increasing NaOH mass for activation and adsorption temperature increased weakly all the parameters of adsorption kinetic and isotherm. The Pb(II) ions adsorption capacity of the ACS AC at 27 and $45^{\circ}C$ was 50.51 and 55.25 mg/g, respectively. Thermodynamic parameters were determined, and the results confirmed the Pb(II) ions adsorption should be endothermic and spontaneous process, and both physical and chemical adsorption should be taken place.

Diseases Severity, Genetic Variation, and Pathogenicity of Ceratocystis Wilt on Lansium domesticum in South Sumatra, Indonesia

        Ahmad Muslim,Rahmat Pratama,Suwandi Suwandi,Harman Hamidson 한국식물병리학회 2022 Plant Pathology Journal Vol.38 No.2

Ceratocystis wilt disease has caused significant mortality in duku (Lansium domesticum) since 2014 and has now spread to all districts in South Sumatra, Indonesia. Recently, 16 isolates from duku representing populations from various districts in South Sumatra were isolated. Analysis for the morphological characteristic of the isolate showed that the population has a uniform morphology. Genetic analysis based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and β-tubulin sequences verified that the population has being dominated by the ITS5 haplotype of Ceratocystis fimbriata and a new ITS group, the ITS7b haplotype that was localized in Musi Banyuasin. Both haplotypes were highly pathogenic to duku. Inoculation tests on various forest and agroforestry plant hosts showed that both haplotypes were highly pathogenic to Acacia mangium, moderately pathogenic to Acacia carsicarpa, Eucalyptus urophylla, and Melaleuca cajuputi, but weakly pathogenic to Dyera costulata, Hevea brasiliensis, and Alstonia scholaris. Therefore, this pathogen becomes a serious threat to Indonesia’s biodiversity due to its ability to infect forest and agroforestry plants, especially the indigenous ones.

Impact behaviour of GFRP and Kevlar/epoxy sandwich composite plate: Experimental and FE analyses

Md. Muslim Ansari,Anupam Chakrabarti 대한기계학회 2017 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.31 No.2

In this paper, dynamic response of GFRP composite plate under ballistic impact has been studied by experimental tests and also by an efficient FE model. Material characterization of GFRP composite is performed as required for progressive damage analysis of laminate due to impact. Shock effect of impact is considered in the material modeling of composite plate. The influence of the target thickness on the ballistic performance of the composite plate is also studied by considering 3.12, 6.24 and 9.36 mm thick targets. Moreover, sandwich composite plate consisting of GFRP and Kevlar/epoxy in three different combinations of laminate layers is considered to obtain suitable combination for structural application that offer better penetration resistance. Damage pattern, contact force histories and stresses in composite plate are studied in addition to residual velocity and acceleration of projectile. Numerical results from present FE model in terms of residual velocities and damage patterns in composite plate show good agreement with the experimental results.

The role of instructional leadership in increasing teacher self-efficacy: a meta-analytic review

Alanoglu, Muslim 서울대학교 교육연구소 2022 Asia Pacific Education Review Vol.23 No.2

The study aims to disclose the relationship between principal’s instructional leadership (PIL) and teacher self-efficacy (TSE) through a meta-analytical synthesis. The meta-analysis covers 24 studies, which represent 9178 teachers, and examines the relationship between PIL and TSE. It was established that publication bias was not a significant problem in the study. The random-effects model was used to measure the average effect size. The result demonstrated that a moderate relationship exists between PIL and TSE. Additionally, subgroup analysis was performed according to the location of the studies and publication types. Analysis revealed that the country where the research was conducted and publication type did not cause differentiation. Moreover, the relationship between PIL behaviors and TSE beliefs illustrate that school principals can improve TSE beliefs by exhibiting instructional leadership behaviors. In turn, student achievement can be improved by enhancing the classroom behaviors of teachers through instructional leadership. Policymakers should be aware that school principals can increase the professional development of teachers and the academic success of students through instructional leadership practices and organize managerial training for school principals to improve their instructional leadership practices.

Behaviour of GFRP composite plate under ballistic impact: experimental and FE analyses

Md. Muslim Ansari,Anupam Chakrabarti 국제구조공학회 2016 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.60 No.5

In this paper, experimental as well as numerical analysis of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) laminated composite has been presented under ballistic impact with varying projectile nose shapes (conical, ogival and spherical) and incidence velocities. The experimental impact tests on GFRP composite plate reinforced with woven glass fiber (0°/90°)s are performed by using pneumatic gun. A three dimensional finite element model is developed in AUTODYN hydro code to validate the experimental results and to study the ballistic perforation characteristic of the target with different parametric variations. The influence of projectile nose shapes, plate thickness and incidence velocity on the variation of residual velocity, ballistic limit, contact force-time histories, energy absorption, damage pattern and damage area in the composite target have been studied. The material characterization of GFRP composite is carried out as required for the progressive damage analysis of composite. The numerical results from the present FE model in terms of residual velocity, absorbed energy, damage pattern and damage area are having close agreement with the results from the experimental impact tests.
