We develop a soft ware easy to handle for traditional techniques of statistical process control using the Microsoft Excel Macro. This research includes four variables control charts and four attributes control charts. For each control charts the developed software presents an OC, computes the grade of a process capability, and tests run. This software deals with rather practical business than theories. It is useful of students interested in quality management and practisers in charge of the business. The basic input/output windows are made with Microsoft Excel, and the control to analyze is embodied with VBA(Visual Basic Application).
다중 평행판 축전기형 전송회로를 사용한 질소레이저의 제작과 출력 특성의 기체 온도 의존성

We have studied the operational characteristics of a nitrogen laser system which consists of a laser tube of 200 ㎜ in length, multiple parallel plate capacitor type transmission circuitry, pulse type high voltage power source and temperature control system for the nitrogen gas. The optimum operational condition is measured to be 30 ℃ in gas temperature, 70 torr in gas pressure, and E/P of 411 (V/㎝.torr) at 4 ㎜ in spark gap spacing and 20 ㎐ in repetation rate. With increasing the nitrogen gas temperature, the optimum nitrogen gas pressure is found to be increased but the optimum value of E/P is decreased. These results are in accordance with the theory of other studies so far.

While the temperature of the gas was being changed by modifying the value of E/P which being effects the output characteristics of gas laser into a temperature function, the optimum value of E/P was calculated, being applied to Nitrogen laser and was compared with experimental values. The optimum operational characteristics by the variation of the nitrogen gas temperature is observed at 30 ℃ in gas temperature and 120 torr in gas pressure. Also the value of E/P is evaluated to be 423 V ㎝^-1torr^-1 which is 2.2 times as large as that of theoretical value. According to increasing the nitrogen gas temperature, the nitrogen gas pressure for the laser action is to be broaded. However in this case, the maximum output power is slightly decrease.

Normally at a flood season the operation of the dam depends on a short range weather forecast that makes many difficulties of the management at a dry season. It is needed to study the pattern of the long period rainfall. The concept of PMP(Probable Maximum Precipitation) was used for designing dam. From the concept, this study is applied the concept of monthly probable maximum precipitation for operating dam. It can be possible to let us know the appropriateness of a limiting water level at a rainy season. For the operation of dam at a dry season this study can predict roughly the flood season's pattern of precipitation by month or period, therfore the prediction of precipitation can rise efficient operation of a dam.
일련연속교각, 다중연속교각, 말뚝군의 세굴특성에 관한 실험적 연구

As materials on the river bed have been changing through erosion, transportation and accumulation, so does the waterway's section. So many bridges have nowadays been constructed to the same direction as water flows. However further researches are still needed on the scours of succession row piers and multiple row piers. Analyzing them through hydraulic stimulation experiments, this study deals with the scour character with the change of diameters in row piers which have been built in the identical direction of water flow and also the part-scour change in multiple row piers.

<P>A number of case reports on occupational asthma caused by herbal medicines have been issued, for example, on Sanyak, Chunkung, Banha, and Brazilian ginseng. Recently, cases of occupational asthma induced by Sanyak and Korean ginseng have been reported, but the pathogenic mechanisms involved are unknown. This study was carried out to evaluate the immunologic mechanism underlying Korean ginseng-induced occupational asthma. A patient engaged in Korean ginseng wholesale was referred for recurrent dyspnea, wheezing, and nasal symptoms, which were aggravated at work. Allergen bronchial provocation testing to Korean ginseng extract showed a typical immediate response, and skin prick testing to Korean ginseng extract also showed a strong positive response. Moreover, serum-specific IgE levels to Korean ginseng extract were significantly higher than in controls. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) inhibition tests showed a dose-dependent inhibition by Korean ginseng, but not by <I>Dermatophagoides farinae</I>, wheat flour, or Chinese balloon flower. Sodium dodecylsulfate-poly-acrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and immunoblotting revealed four specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) binding components at 26, 30, 47, and 60 kDa, which were not bound by control sera. These results strongly suggest that occupation asthma induced by Korean ginseng is induced via an IgE-mediated mechanism.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Defect of dendritic cell (DC) maturation in tumor microenvironments is an important immunological problem limiting the success of cancer immunotherapy. Here, we investigated the effects of polysaccharide (cordlan) isolated from <I>Cordyceps militaris</I> on DC maturation. Phenotypic maturation of DCs by cordlan was demonstrated by the elevated expressions of CD40, CD80, CD86, MHC-I, and MHC-II molecules, and functional maturation by increased expression of IL-12, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IFN-αβ, enhanced allogenic T cell stimulation, and decreased endocytosis. Of note was that cordlan induced maturation of <I>tlr4</I> <SUP>+/+</SUP> DCs from C3H/HeN mice, but not <I>tlr4</I> <SUP>−/−</SUP> DCs from C3H/HeJ mice, suggesting the promising membrane receptor of cordlan. In addition, cordlan increased phosphorylation of ERK, p38, and JNK, and nuclear translocation of NF-κB p50/p65, which were main signaling molecules down-stream from TLR4. These results indicate that cordlan induces DC maturation through TLR4 signaling pathways.</P>
