<P>For the first time, double-deck WO<SUB>3</SUB>/BiVO<SUB>4</SUB> inverse opal photoanodes (DDIO-WO<SUB>3</SUB>/BiVO<SUB>4</SUB>) were prepared by swelling–shrinking mediated polystyrene template synthetic routes, and the use of the photoanodes in photoelectrochemical cells under simulated solar light was investigated. The double-deck photoanodes represented the compact interface between WO<SUB>3</SUB> and BiVO<SUB>4</SUB>, inheriting the periodically ordered macroporous nanostructure. More significantly, the DDIO-WO<SUB>3</SUB>/BiVO<SUB>4</SUB> inverse opal photoanodes prepared from the optimized fabrication condition demonstrated a photocurrent that was ∼40 times higher than that of the pure inverse opal WO<SUB>3</SUB> photoanodes at a bias of 1.23 V vs RHE. Even without an added catalyst, they produce an outstanding photocurrent density of ∼3.3 mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP> at a bias of 1.23 V vs RHE, which profits from improving the poor charge carrier mobility of BiVO<SUB>4</SUB> by combining it with a WO<SUB>3</SUB> skeleton and a shrouded bilayer inverse opal structure with a large surface area and good contact with the electrolyte.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/cmatex/2014/cmatex.2014.26.issue-19/cm502073d/production/images/medium/cm-2014-02073d_0008.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/cm502073d'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

Taiwan Bangzi originally came from Henan province in China. Within the evolution in Taiwan society, it reveals a strong tendency of localisation in the past ten years. This paper will examine three contemporary operas from three perspectives: content of scripts, stage-performing methods and music, in order to demonstrate the ongoing and strengthening process of localisation and crossover of Taiwan Bangzi in this decade. The intention and evidence of localisation in Taiwan Bangzi can be found through the analysis in this paper from three aspects and a comparison in figures and music examples.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Efficient utilization of abundant methane (CH<SUB>4</SUB>) from natural gas remains a major catalysis challenge. One recommended strategy is to convert methane into liquid fuels, such as alcohols, ketones and acids, but most processes usually proceed through high-temperature routes. Here, we employ a ZrO<SUB>2</SUB>:NiCo<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> quasi-solid solution catalyst as the electrochemical anode for partial methane oxidation. Without high temperature, noble metal catalysts and expensive oxidants, this quasi-solid solution anode produces propionic acid, acetic acid and acetone. After the analysis of the products, we demonstrate that the intermediate products from partial methane oxidation, 1-propanol, acetaldehyde and 2-propanol, are further oxidized into propionic acid, acetic acid and acetone, respectively. Aims and Background: The purpose of the research was to study the prognostic value of tumor 18F-FDG PET-based parameters in neoadjuvant chemoradiation for patients with squamous esophageal carcinoma. Methods: Sixty patients received chemoradiation therapy followed by esophagectomy and two 18FDG-PET examinations at pre- and post-radiation therapy. PET-based metabolic-response parameters were calculated based on histopathologic response. Linear regression correlation and Cox proportional hazards models were used to determine prognostic value of all PET-based parameters with reference to overall survival. Results: Sensitivity (88.2%) and specificity (86.5%) of a percentage decrease of SUVmax were better than other PET-based parameters for prediction of histopathologic response. Only percentage decrease of SUVmax and tumor length correlated with overall survival time (linear regression coefficient ${\beta}$: 0.704 and 0.684, P<0.05). The Cox proportional hazards model indicated higher hazard ratio (HR=0.897, P=0.002) with decrease of SUVmax compared with decrease of tumor size (HR=0.813, P=0.009). Conclusion: Decrease of SUVmax and tumor size are significant prognostic factors in chemoradiation of esophageal carcinoma.

<P>We investigate the effects of the refractive index of the encapsulant on the light-extraction efficiency (LEE) of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for GaN LEDs (n ??? 2.5) and AlGaInP LEDs (n ??? 3.0). For non-absorbing rectangular parallelepiped LED chips, as the refractive index of the encapsulant increases, the LEE first increases quasi-linearly, then increases sub-linearly, and finally a saturation is reached. Furthermore, LEDs with a dual-layer graded-refractive-index (GRIN) encapsulant (n(encapsulant 1) = 1.57 and n(encapsulant 2) = 1.41) is fabricated through a two-step curing process. We demonstrate that such an LED further enhances the LEE by reducing Fresnel reflection loss at the encapsulant/air interface by 35% compared with an LED encapsulated with a single-layer encapsulant (n(encapsulant) = 1.57).</P>

Excited states of 113In have been populated through the heavy-ion fusion evaporation reaction 110Pd(7Li, 4n)113In. A new band with the configuration of a proton d5/2 orbital is identified. Two ΔI = 2 intruder bands, built on the πh11/2 and the πg7/2 orbitals, have been extended to spins (63/2-)ħ and (55/2+)ħ, respectively. The negative-parity πh11/2 intruder band shows a smooth increase in aligned spin, which is attributed to a strong proton-neutron interaction. The properties of the positive-parity πg7/2 band are discussed based on tilted axis cranking model calculations, and the features of the antimagnetic rotation for this band are shown after backbend. Furthermore, the contributions of the two-shears-like mechanism, the neutron (gd)ν shell and the core rotation are investigated for the positive-parity πg7/2 band.

Aiming at the increasing demand of the monitoring of mechanical vibration signals, by improving the existing Sensor Monitoring Network, a low-power wireless sensor network is designed. The data transmission efficiency is increased by using the compressed sensing (CS) technology to compress the mechanical vibration signals of the devices monitored by the network. To realize real-time processing of monitoring signals, the FPGA+DSP architecture is treated as the core of the equipment processing the mechanical vibration signals of wireless sensor network. The modified designs of the hardware circuit and logic circuit with regard to the data collection, sampling, transmission, processing and the store section are introduced initially. Further, the effects of the improved Sensor Monitoring Network are tested by the experimental study on the rotating equipment. The results show that the real-time processing can be well implemented and the power can be cut down to a certain degree.
