차정원,이미연 국립7개대학공동논문집간행위원회 2004 공업기술연구 Vol.4 No.-

In this paper, we propose an expansion method of surface text patterns which are used by Question-Answering systems to solve the long-distance dependency problem. We use additional information to present discontinuous patterns. Also, the cost of the system could be reduced by simplifying the training process. In this paper we implement the system based on the new training method to expand the form of patterns without external tools or knowledge bases. We prove that our system is efficient and reliable by comparing it with the performance of existing systems by the precision and MRR which is an evaluation method at TREC.

      • 청소년 자녀와 어머니의 갈등과 해결방식에 관한 연구

        김명자,이정우,계선자,박미석,박수선 숙명여자대학교 출판부 2002 生活科學硏究誌 Vol.17 No.-

This examines the overall traditional cultural aspect of the parent-child conflict, reciprocal action involved and copying of the conflict to understand how the parent and child each perceives these actions in an analytical perspective. The subject of this study was eight pairs of first or second year high school students and their mothers. At least three interviews were conducted on each student and mother pair using the qualitative study method. The results of this research can be summarized as follows. First, the different types of conflicts between mothers and their adolescent children can be classified as conflicts in academic achievement, territory of personal life, discrimination based on gender, and relationships with friends. Second, most adolescent children used avoidance to cope with conflict situations with their mothers. Others made deals to get what they wanted, or resolved conflicts through dialog, letters, and e-mail. Third, when faced dith a conflict with their adolescent children, most mothers used persuasion as or made the children to give up something in return for letting them have something they want. In other cases the father intervened. Though few in numbers, some mothers used letters or e-mail to resolve conflicts.

청소년자녀와 어머니를 위한 세대간 이해증진 프로그램 개발 및 실시

        김명자,이정우,계선자,박미선,송말희,김경아,박수선,유을용,정진희 대한가정학회 2003 Human Ecology Research(HER) Vol.41 No.1

The relationship between adolescent children and parents has a profound effect on not only the adolescents development into healthy adults but also the psychological welfare of the parent. A program focused to improve adolescents relationship with parents has not been developed until now. To achieve the educational goals enhancing mutual understanding, it is more effective to educate both the parents and adolescent childern. Thus, this study developed and carried out a program in which adolescent children and mothers, being fully in charge of raising children, participated. The study analyzed the program effects after implementing on 6 pairs of adolescent children and mothers. The results are as follows: 1) adolescent children and mothers placed high values on the fact that they can understand each other well, 2) both parties accepted each other by recognizing the inevitability of the generation gap, and 3) the program gave them a chance to admit that they should try to communicate openly. Most of all, adolescent children could find self-confidence while mothers could collect valuable data essential to raise children and build a new mother's role model adapting to social changes.

청소년을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발·실시 및 평가에 관한 연구

        계선자,이정우,김명자,박미석,송말희,유을용,김경아,정진희 대한가정학회 2003 Human Ecology Research(HER) Vol.41 No.8

The main goal of this program is to build a healthy adolescent culture by broadening the understanding of adolescents and recognition of the environment as well through the development of educational programs centering on the domains of peer relationships, intimacy in dating relationships and sex, leisure activities, and consumption life of adolescents. The program was carried out to 10 young boys and girls for two days/one night and the major findings of the effects of the program through a qualitative evaluation were as follows: First, the program provided adolescents with a proper opportunity to promote a sense of self-confidence through the self-reevaluation process. Secondly, the program provided adolescents with a chance to firmly recognize to become good friends with others though the enhancement of self-esteem, which helped them to build a healthy peer relationship. Thirdly, adolescents were able to promote their views on sex and sexual decision-making by acquiring a proper knowledge of intimacy in dating relationships and of sex, and by candidly expressing their own opinions on sex with instructors. Fourthly, the program provided adolescents with an opportunity to look back on their leisure life with family members which had been neglected thus far and to renew their recognition of active leisure activities. Fifthly, the program provided adolescents with a chance to reflect on their unplanned consumption life and to be firmly determined to refrain from impulsive purchasing and extravagance.

Expression profiles of HERV-K Env protein in normal and cancerous tissues

        Jo, Jin-Ok,Kang, Yun-Jeong,Ock, Mee Sun,Song, Kyoung Seob,Jeong, Moon-Jin,Jeong, Soon-Jeong,Choi, Yung Hyun,Ko, Eun-Ji,Leem, Sun-Hee,Kim, Suhkmann,Kim, Heui-Soo,Cha, Hee-Jae Springer-Verlag 2016 Genes & Genomics Vol.38 No.1

Human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) have been proposed as etiological cofactors in chronic diseases such as cancer, autoimmunity and neurological disease. HERV RNA expression is also increased in several autoimmune diseases and cancers. However, only a few studies have analyzed the expression levels of HERV-derived proteins in normal and diseased tissues. Here, we investigated the expression profiles of HERV-K Env protein, which is the most well-known pathogen, from normal and cancer tissue microarray. Normal and cancer tissue microarray slides containing 59 normal or 60 tumor surgical specimens, respectively were immunostained with mouse monoclonal antibody to HERV-K and staining intensity was scored. The expression of HERV-K Env protein is generally low in normal tissues but high in specific tissues including bronchus submucosal gland, salivary gland acini, pancreas acini, testis seminiferous tubule, uterine cervix epithelium, ovary stroma, skin epidermis, and heart. The expression of HERV-K Env protein in tumors was usually higher than normal tissues and specifically high in breast, liver, stomach, prostate, and ovarian cancer. This study provides protein expression profiles of HERV-K Env protein in human normal and cancer tissues and provides a good reference for further studies on the expression patterns and roles of HERV-K Env protein in normal organs and various cancers. Further studies with specific organs or cancers and a statistically significant numbers of samples are necessary.

A New Member of Human TSA / AhpC as Thioredoxin - dependent Thiol Peroxidase

CHA, MEE KYUNG,Jeong, Woo Jin,Kim, Ill Han 생화학분자생물학회 2001 BMB Reports Vol.33 No.3

A new type of the human TSA homologous gene was cloned from a HeLa cell cDNA and characterized. The gene product consists of 161 amino acids with a molecular mass of 16,900. The TSA homologous protein, as a new 6th member of the human TSA (hTSA VI), exerted a thioldependent peroxidase activity with the use of thioredoxin system as a physiological electron donor. The values of V_(max)/K_m of hTSA VI for H₂O₂ and t-butyl hydroperoxide (tBOOH) were calculated as 5.53 × 10^(-2) and 3.70 × 10^(-2), respectively This implies that hTSA VI is a peroxidase, which reduces H₂O₂ and t-BOOR. The mutation of Cys^(47) to serine resulted in a complete loss of the peroxidase activity. This suggests that Cys^(47) acts as a primary site of catalysis. The analysis of the tryptic digest derived from hTSA VI revealed that the Cys^(47) exists as a free thiol form. Taken together, these results suggest that the TSA homologous protein is a new type of the human family, which exerts thioredoxin-linl~ed peroxidase activity toward H₂O₂ and alkyl hydroperoxide.

      • Single-Crystal Apatite Nanowires Sheathed in Graphitic Shells: Synthesis, Characterization, and Application

        Jeong, Namjo,Cha, Misun,Park, Yun Chang,Lee, Kyung Mee,Lee, Jae Hyup,Park, Byong Chon,Lee, Junghoon American Chemical Society 2013 ACS NANO Vol.7 No.7

Vertically aligned one-dimensional hybrid structures, which are composed of apatite and graphitic structures, can be beneficial for orthopedic applications. However, they are difficult to generate using the current method. Here, we report the first synthesis of a single-crystal apatite nanowire encapsulated in graphitic shells by a one-step chemical vapor deposition. Incipient nucleation of apatite and its subsequent transformation to an oriented crystal are directed by derived gaseous phosphorine. Longitudinal growth of the oriented apatite crystal is achieved by a vapor–solid growth mechanism, whereas lateral growth is suppressed by the graphitic layers formed through arrangement of the derived aromatic hydrocarbon molecules. We show that this unusual combination of the apatite crystal and the graphitic shells can lead to an excellent osteogenic differentiation and bony fusion through a programmed smart behavior. For instance, the graphitic shells are degraded after the initial cell growth promoted by the graphitic nanostructures, and the cells continue proliferation on the bare apatite nanowires. Furthermore, a bending experiment indicates that such core–shell nanowires exhibited a superior bending stiffness compared to single-crystal apatite nanowires without graphitic shells. The results suggest a new strategy and direction for bone grafting materials with a highly controllable morphology and material conditions that can best stimulate bone cell differentiation and growth.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

Plant Regeneration and Morphology during in-Vitro Organogenesis from Heloniopsis orientalis(Thunb.) C. Tanaka

        Cha, Hyeon-Cheol,Park, Hye-Jeong,Min, Byeong-Mee 한국식물학회 2002 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.45 No.1

Heloniopsis orientalis (Liliaceae) is an important horticultural crop native to Korea. Under natural conditions, germination is poor and plant growth is delayed. Therefore, we have developed a vegetative propagation method to produce plants with vigorous growth characteristics via tissue culture. Leaf tissues were cultured on MS basal media supplemented with growth regulators 2,4-D, TDZ, BA, or zeatin. The regenerated shoots were then initiated directly from leaf explants on an MS medium containing either 0.1 to 1.0㎎/L 2,4-D or 0.1 to 3.0㎎/L BA. Healthy plantlets with adventitious roots were formed on the medium supplemented with 0.1㎎/L BA. TDZ triggered callus initiation without caulogenesis or rhizogenesis, and callus formation was better on the half-strength MS medium than on the full-strength medium. After the plants were acclimatized for one month at 4℃, they were successfully transferred to soil. In addition, we used LM and SEM to investigate shoot morphogenesis at various stages of differentiation.
