      • 유동층내 설치된 수평관의 마모 특성

        유동층내에 설치된 수평관에 대한 마모실험을 수행하였다. 유동층 연소로의 크기는 단면적 0.15×0.2m이며 높이는 1m에 해당된다. 유동층내 유동물질로는 모래와 무연탄회재를 사용하였으며 충진층의 높이는 0.45m를 적용하였다. 마모실험용 시편은 아크릴 관이 사용되었으며 위치는 수직방향으로 15, 30, 45cm 위치에 세 개씩 그리고 60cm 위치에 1개를 설치하였다. 유동화속도, 수직높이, 층물질 종류에 따른 마모속도와 관의 원주방향에 대한 마모특성을 고찰하였다. 실험결과 마모속도는 유동화속도와 관의 수직높이가 증가할수록 늘어남을 보였으며, 시계방향으로 4∼8시간, 특히 5∼7시간 방향으로 커다란 마모율을 나타냈다. The erosion characteristics of horizontal tubes immersed in a fluidized bed cold mode combustor were investigated. The combustor has a cross sectional area of 0.15×0.2m and a height of 1m. The anthracite ash and river sand were used as a bed material. The static bed height was 0.45m. The wear specimens were made of acrylic tube. Test tubes were located inside the bed with three tubes in a low at 15, 30, 45cm and with a single tube at 60cm above distributor plate, respectively. The test was performed to investigate the effect of fluidization velocity, distance above distributor plate on the erosion rate, and the erosion trend of tube surface with radial direction. The result shows that the erosion rate increases with fluidization velocity, with distance above the distributor plate. The trend with radial direction shows severe erosion at the 4-8 o'clock clockwise compare to other area, especially 5 and 7 o'clock clockwise.

      • 김치가 노화촉진쥐 뇌의 유리기 생성 및 항산화효소 활성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 김치가 노화와 직접적인 관련이 있는 유리기 생성 및 항산화 효소활성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 배추김치, 배추갓김치 그리고 갓김치를 식이중량의 5% 첨가하여 실험식이를 제조하여 이를 노화촉진쥐인 SAMP8에게 1년간 섭취시켰다. 총유리기, OH radical, H_2O_2농도 그리고 TBARS 농도 모두 가령에 따라 증가하였으며, 김치섭취시 유의적으로 감소되었다(p<0.05), 김치군에 있어서 생성된 유리기를 제거하기 위해 항산화계 효소인 SOD, catalase, GSH-px 그리고 GSH/GSSG는 모든 김치군에서 유의적으로 증가 하였다(P<0.05). 따라서 김치섭취는 먼저 가령에 의해 생성되는 유리기의 생성은 억제시키면서, 둘째 이를 제거하기 위한 항산화계 효소 활성은 더욱 활성화시키므로써 항노화 기능을 발휘한다고 생각된다. 김치종류 중에서는 배추갓김치와 갓김치가 배추김치보다 유리기 생성을 억제하고, 항산화계 활성을 증진시킨 것으로 보아 이들의 항노화 효과가 클것으로 생각된다. This study was performed to investigate the effect of kimchi intake on antiaging characteristics in the brain of senescence-accelerated mouse (SAM) in terms of free radical production and anti-oxidative enzymes. Two hundreds twenty SAM (20 mice) were divided into four groups and fed kimchi diet for 12 months. Experimental groups were kimchi free AIN-76 diet (control) group, Korean cabbage kimchi diet (KCK)group, 30% mustard leaf added Korean cabbage kimchi diet (MKCK) group, and mustard leaf kimchi diet (MLK) group. Concentrations of total free radical, OH radical and H_2O_2 of control group increased up to 123%, 262% and 174% of initial value (p<0.05) after one year. Increase in free radical production in kimchi groups due to aging was decreased by kimchi feeding. Among kimchi groups. MKCK and MLK groups showed greater inhibiting effect against free radical production than KCK. The concentration of TBARS in the bruin of control group also significantly increased up to 362% of initial value as aged (p<0.05) and production of TBARS in kimchi groups were decreased. When the activities of Cu, Zn-SOD, Mn-SOD, GSH-px and catalase of kimchi groups were compared to those of control at the same experimental period, anti-oxidative enzyme activities of kimchi groups were lower than those of control (p<0.05). But GSH/GSSG in kimchi groups were higher compared to control. In conclusion, decrease in free radical production and increase in anti-oxidative enzyme activities were observed from kimchi groups suggesting that kimchi might have important role on retarding aging. Among kimchi variety tested in this experiment, MKCK and MLK seem to have greater effect on inhibiting free radical production and increasing anti-oxidative enzyme activities than KCK.

      • A Convergent and Stereoselective Synthesis of homogenous alternating α(2→8)/α(2→9) Neu5Ac oligosialic acids

        Polysialic acids, linearly fused N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac), play a central role in numerous biological recognition processes such as lymphocyte homing, tumor metathesis, meningitis, urinary tract infections and pathogenic bacteria infections. Three types of polysialic acids, which are different by the internal linkages, have been isolated and identified from the microorganisms. The α (2→8) polysialic acid is a component of neuroinvasive E. coli K1and N. meningitida serogroup B, while the α (2→9) polysialic acid is a component of N. meningitida serogroup C. The alternating α (2→8)/α (2→9) polysialic acid is isolated from E. coli K92 and Bos-12 strains and not found in mammalian systems, making it a potentially carbohydrate vaccine for medicinal treatment. The glycoconjugates of isolated α (2→9) polysialic acid and a carrier protein (ex: diphtheria or tentanus toxoid) are the current vaccines against Meningococcal group C diseases; however, these vaccines are often heterogeneous or contaminated with other antigenic components due to the difficulty in purifying polysialic acids from natural sources. Recently, our lab has successfully and efficiently synthesized α (2→9) polysialic acids up to dodecamers with high yield using 5 -N,4-O-carbonyl protected phosphate-based donors via the convergent block synthesis strategy.

        데니쉬 모던 의자디자인에 나타난 미니멀리즘의 표현특성 연구

        산업혁명이후 다양한 모던 디자인 운동들이 활발하게 일어났던 중부 유럽과는 지리적으로 멀리 떨어져 있었던 덴마크는 그들의 민족성을 바탕으로 특유의 자연과 풍토, 수공예 전통과 편안하고 합리적인 아이디어로 단순하고 기능적인 디자인을 발전시켜 ‘데니쉬 모던’으로 세계에 인정을 받았다. 한편, 1960년대에 본격적으로 예술 분야에 두각을 나타낸 미니멀리즘은 단순성, 물성, 반복성, 환경성의 개념적 특성으로 절제된 형태미학과 주관을 배제하고 본질을 추구하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 데니쉬 모던의 표현특성과 미니멀리즘의 표현특성과의 유사점에 착안하여 미니멀리즘의 조형적 표현특성을 바탕으로 한 분석의 틀로 하여 데니쉬 모던 의자디자인을 분석하고 데니쉬 모던 의자디자인에 나타나는 미니멀리즘의 표현특성을 도출하고자 하였다. 데니쉬 모던이 전성기를 이루었던 1950~60년대에 가장 왕성하게 활동했던 디자이너의 의자디자인을 대상으로 분석하였으며 그 결과를 보면 형태적 특성으로는 간결한 구조적 형태, 유기적인 단순 형태, 단순 모티브의 반복, 재료 및 색채적 특성으로는 순수한 목재의 물성과 천연 색채 추구, 다양한 마감재료와 강렬한 원색, 지역적 특성으로는 수공예적인 전통 표현, 상징적 감성 표현으로 요약된다. 결론적으로 데니쉬 모던은 미니멀리즘의 표현특성인 형태적, 재료 및 색채적, 지역적 특성에서 나타나는 ‘최소화’를 추구하는 형태의 단순함과 물성 자체를 공통적으로 추구하지만 수공예적인 기법과 재료 추구, 지역적 이미지를 내포한 유기적 곡선과 유기체를 연상시키는 상징적 감성을 표현함으로써 데니쉬 모던의 독특하고 독자적인 현대 미학을 구축하여 발전시켰음을 알 수 있었다. Danish Modern has been recognized as simple and comfortable design movement that was matched with it`s unique regional environment. There are various internationally well known designers such as Arne Jacbsen, Verner Panton. Danish Modern is distinguished by a clear understanding and expression of beauty from nature, a complete understanding of traditional craft techniques to generate simple form. Minimalism which was begun in 1960s is an artistic tendency towards the simplicity of form and the nature of being. In this study, it is focused that there are points of similarities between Danish Modern and Minimalism. This study is intended to explore the background of Danish Modern and the characteristics of Minimalism, and then to analyze Danish Modern design in view of Minimalism characteristics. To accomplish the goal set up in this study, Danish Modern designers, the concept characteristics and formative characteristics of Minimalism were reviewed from theoretical study. And then the case studies of the examples of Danish modern chair design which were designed in 1950~60s were analyzed by formal, material and color, and regional characteristics which were the tool of analysis. As a result of this analysis, first, the formal characteristics of Danish Modern are simple structural form, organic simple form, repetition of simple motive, second, material and color characteristics are pure material thing, natural color and different finishes, strong colors, third, regional characteristics of Danish Modern are handicraft traditional expression and symbolic organic form.

      • 한국과 대만의 중국시장에서 수출경쟁력 비교분석

        중국시장에서 대만과 중국은 동일 민족이기 때문에 경쟁조건에서 근본적으로 비교적 한국보다 유리하여 대만이 중국시장에서 경쟁력이 한국보다 약간 높으나 IMF외환위기 경제개혁을 추진한 한국이 대만을 추월하는 추세를 보이고 있다. Taiwan has a comparative advantage fundamentally than South Korea in China Market since Taiwan and China are same national homogeneity. However South Korea with economic reform after IMF crisis, 1997 has a higher economic growth than Twain without economic reform in the trend.

        Modeling and assessment of VWNN for signal processing of structural systems

        This study aimed to develop a model to accurately predict the acceleration of structural systems during an earthquake. The acceleration and applied force of a structure were measured at current time step and the velocity and displacement were estimated through linear integration. These data were used as input to predict the structural acceleration at next time step. The computation tool used was the Volterra/Wiener neural network (VWNN) which contained the mathematical model to predict the acceleration. For alleviating problems of relatively large-dimensional and nonlinear systems, the VWNN model was utilized as the signal processing tool, including the Taylor series components in the input nodes of the neural network. The number of the intermediate layer nodes in the neural network model, containing the training and simulation stage, was evaluated and optimized. Discussions on the influences of the gradient descent with adaptive learning rate algorithm and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm, both for determining the network weights, on prediction errors were provided. During the simulation stage, different earthquake excitations were tested with the optimized settings acquired from the training stage to find out which of the algorithms would result in the smallest error, to determine a proper simulation model.

        This study aims to explore and identify semantics of emotions evoked in the cognitive process of human beings when they are stimulated by different physical signals presented on information displays. To do this, we compared emotion maps driven from two independent experimental setups. Kansei engineering approaches using semantic differential method were adopted to draw the emotion maps. In each experimental setup, different set of subjects were asked to evaluate levels of semantic associations between physical stimuli and delivering information. The information to deliver was defined using sets of adjectives that are useful to describe various states of process in or out of control. Distinctive earcons and hapticons with different design parameters were given as the physical stimuli in each experiment. Factor analysis was applied to determine the dimensions, locations of adjectives and stimuli on each emotion map. The results showed that people`s emotions corresponding to given physical stimuli can be abstracted into 2 dimensions when they are expressed using the set of adjectives in the experiments.
