The purpose of this study was to examine the perception and preference of skiers in a bid to provide ski resorts with useful information about successful positioning strategy. The subjects in this study were 9,722 skiers who purchased season tickets from N web site that sold ski season tickets. Their online purchasing route and page view were analyzed to find out what factors affected their purchase of ski season tickets. The findings of this study were as follows: First, 78 percent of the people investigated were make, and 22 percent were female. By age, the largest group was in their 20s(5,344 skiers), followed by those in their 30s(3,434), those in their 40s(631) and teenagers(229). Second, their page view rate with Yangji recorded highest with 24%, followed by Sungwoo Resort with 23% and Chonmasan with 13 percent. Third, by geographic area, the skiers from southern Gyeonggi province bought the largest number of tickets for the 2002/2003 season, followed by Gangweon province residents and northem Gyeonggi province dwellers. In the case of the 2003/2004 season, those from Gangweon provinece pruchased the most tickets, followed by southern Gyeonggi province dwellers and north Gyeonggi province residents.

A 73-days rearing trial was conducted to investigate the effects of different photoperiod on growth and survival rate of juvenile abalone (Nordotis discus hannai). Survival rate was not significantly affected by different photoperiod condition (P>0.05). Growth rates on shell length and shell breadth of 12L/12D, 18L/6D and 24L/0D groups were higher than those of control (P<0.05), but growth on shell length, shell breadth and shell height of 0L/24D group was lower than those of control (P<0.05). Soft body weight and fatness index of abalone reared 24L/0D condition was greater than all of experimental groups. The results suggest that long photoperiod can improve weight gain of abalone
안면부 Lymphangioma에 의한 Orbital Dystopia의 치험
고영초,정철현,방난석,하지운 大韓成形外科學會 1991 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.18 No.4
Vertical orbital dystopia is an abnormally low or high position of one orbit in comparison with the other side which is supposedly normal. The causes of vertical orbital dystopia include Congenital(craniosynostosis, hemifacial microsomia and facial clefting syndrome etc.), Trauma(orbital fracture and irradiation injury etc.), Neoplasms(fibrous dysplasia, antrum carcinoma, intracranial tumors, frontal and ethmoid sinus tumor and angiomatoses etc.) From the stand point of both visual function and asthetic aspects, the correction of vertical orbital dystopia is more difficult for the surgeon than in the case of equally great horizontal displacment. Uncorrected vertical orbital dystopia produce significant facial asymmetry and severe deformity than similar amount of horizontal deformity. The case of a 22 year - old female patient with vertical orbital dystopia associated with large cavernous lymphangioma on right forehead and supraorbital region is presented. The patient had aesthetically good result by correction of vertical orbital dystopia through intracranial approach in spite of impossible complete resection of cavernous lymphangioma.

Lichen planopilaris (LPP) is a folliculotropic variant of lichen planus. Linear LPP of the face was first described in 1977 by Pullmann et al., and only a few cases of linear LPP of the face have been reported so far. Here, we report a case of linear LPP of the face successfully treated with topical calcineurin inhibitor. A 50-year-old man presented with a mild atrophic skin lesion on his forehead, which had been there for 2 years. He was otherwise healthy. Dermoscopy showed a reticular hyperpigmentation and abundant perifollicular hyperkeratosis with a few white dots. Histopathologic findings in the atrophic lesion revealed dense, band-like, lymphocytic infiltrates mostly around dilated and plugged follicles, but the infiltration was sparse in the overlying epidermis. The direct immunofluorescence stain was unremarkable. Based on these findings, the diagnosis of linear LPP of the face was made. He was treated with topical 0.1% tacrolimus ointment. After 3 months, his lesion improved significantly but a linear atrophy remained. Because of the rarity of this disease, treatment responses are varied. In previous reports, oral cyclosporine A and hydroxychloroquine in combination with topical tacrolimus have been successfully used. We tried only topical tacrolimus and lesion of LPP of the face significantly improved but an atrophy remained.

Background: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has been recently introduced as a non-invasive therapeutic modality for controlling subcutaneous fat. However, there have been few studies on the efficacy and safety of HIFU for human. Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of HIFU device for sculpting the abdomen, upper arm and thigh Methods: Ten subjects with subcutaneous fat thickness of abdomen, upper arm and thigh more than 10 mm were recruited. The procedure was performed using HIFU device for one time. The Primary endpoints were average reduction amount (mm) of the treated area measured by ultrasound at 12 weeks after procedure. The secondary efficacy endpoints were the reduction amount (mm) of circumference of the treated area, the degree of pain (VAS) and satisfaction scale. Results: The average reduction amount of subcutaneous fat thickness for the abdomen, upper arm and thigh were -3.20±2.35cm, -2.00±1.15cm, and -2.40±3.72 cm, respectively. The reduction amount of the abdomen (p=0.0012) and arm (p=0.0004) were statistically significant. The reduction amounts of the abdomen and arm circumference were significantly decreased (p=0.0054 and 0.0042, respectively). Patient satisfaction was the highest on the abdomen. Pain was generally tolerable. Conclusion: These results suggest HIFU can be one of the effective therapeutic modalities for excessive subcutaneous fat.

A 12-year old boy presented with asymptomatic, multiple, 0.1 cm-sized, yellowish to brownish papules on the penile shaft for several years. The lesions appeared suddenly and there was no history of any trauma, injection or underlying disorder. A punch biopsy of representative lesions on the penis was performed. Histopathological examination revealed many tadpole-shaped cords of epithelial cells and small ducts in the dermis. The diagnosis of syringoma was made by the given clinical and histopathological findings. The patient denied any further procedure for those lesions. Syringomas are common benign eccrine neoplasms. Classic syringoma occurs more frequently in young adult women. Eruptive syringoma is a rare variant and the age of onset ranges from 3 to 50 years. Eruptive syringoma is the term for multiple lesions that occur synchronously in any part of the body. The most common site for syringoma is the eyelid. On the other hand, penile syringoma is extremely rare. Until now, there have been several cases of penile syringoma reported, but eruptive penile syringoma is rarely seen. Herein, we report a case of eruptive penile syringoma.

Background: The epidemiologic study of cancer in a certain ethnic is important because there are differences in clinical presentation, prognosis and survival by their ethnics. There have been few reports about skin cancer trends in Korean. Objectives: We sought to investigate the incidence rates of skin cancers and their age-specific cutoff values in Korea. Methods: We analyzed data of skin cancers from National Health Insurance System Claims Database from 2006 to 2015. The incidence rate of skin cancers including malignant melanoma (MM) and non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) was analyzed. The age-specific cutoff value in the prediction of skin cancer was defined as the cutoff point having the highest Youden index. Results: During the period, 44 688 cases of NMSC and 9112 cases of MM were identified as newly registered cases in Korea. The age standardized incidence rate (ASR) of NMSC increased from 6.78 to 10.86 per 100 000 person years during the period (p<0.001), while that of MM showed stabilized ASR around 2.00, respectively (p=0.095). The risk of MM and NMSC were increased by age per 1 year (HR 1.065 [95% CI 1.064-1.067] in MM and HR 1.084 [95% CI 1.083-1.085] in NMSC). The age cutoff value for predicting MM and NMSC was 52 and 57 years, respectively. Conclusion: While the incidence rate of MM is stabilized, that of NMSC in Korean has been increased steadily. These results might contribute to establishing preventive and therapeutic strategy for skin cancers in Korea.
