      • MI-Trigger-based Language Modeling

        This paper proposes a new MI0Trigger-based modeling approach to capture the preferred relationships between words over a short or long distance. It is implemented by the concept of trigger pair, which is selected by average mutual information and measured by mutual information. Both the distance-independent(DI) and distance-dependent(DD) MI-Trigger-based models are constructed within a window of a size from 1 to 10. It is found that the DD MI-trigger models have better performance than the DI MI-trigger models for the same window size and it is better to model the preferred relationships in a distance-dependent way. It is also found that the number of the trigger pairs in an MI-rigger model can be kept to a reasonable size without Iosing too much of its modeling power. Finally, it is concluded that the preferred relationships between words are useful to language disambiguation and can be modeled efficiently by the MI-Trigger-based modeling approach.

      • Colorimetric and Fluorometric Assays Based on Conjugated Polydiacetylene Supramolecules for Screening Acetylcholinesterase and Its Inhibitors

        <P>Polydiacetylene supramolecules (PDAs) are unique sensing materials. Upon environmental stimulation, blue PDAs can undergo a colorimetric transition from blue to red accompanied by fluorescence enhancement. In this paper, we report a new PDA system polymerized from a mixed liposome comprising 2-(2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl pentacosa-10,12-diynoate and pentacosa-10,12-diynoic acid at a 3:7 ratio. The PDA system provided new colorimetric and fluorometric assay methods for screening acetylcholinesterase and its inhibitors through three processes. First, myristoylcholine reacted with PDAs, which then underwent colorimetric and fluorometric transition. Second, acetylcholinesterase catalyzed the hydrolysis of myristoylcholine into tetradecanoic acid, which reduced the myristoylcholine concentration and led to faded color and fluorescence.         Synthesis of a novel phosphorus-containing plasticizer based on castor oil and its application for flame retardancy of polyvinyl chloride

        A novel flame-retardant plasticizer based on castor oil (FRC) was synthesized, and its potential application for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was evaluated through the study of torque during melt processing, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), limiting oxygen index instrument, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and mechanical tests. The results suggested that the FRC has a plasticizing effect in blends with PVC. The addition of FRC resulted in reduction of processing torque, good compatibility, improvement in thermal stability and efficient flame retardant. Torque reduction was observed (33.6%), indicating the reduction of viscosity and the improvement of process. The increase (31.9%) of LOI value indicated that incorporation of FRC system had obviously improved the flame retardant property of PVC blends. The excellent flame retardant properties were obtained by forming an isolation layer on the surface of PVC blends in the process of FRC burning. FRC could improve the thermal ability of PVC blends by enhancing the decomposition temperature of PVC. The performance in all properties of PVC products could be obtained by controlling the formula blends. Therefore, castor oil-based flame retardant plasticizers would appear suitable for a wide range of application.

      • Simulated Annealing Optimization Bat Algorithm in Service Migration Joining the Gauss Perturbation

        Bat algorithm is an optimization method inspired by the echo-location bats to search in nature, hunt prey behavior, combining multi-agent system and evolution mechanism. To improve the search results of BA algorithm, this paper proposes a gauss perturbation bats optimization algorithm based on simulated annealing (SAGBA). Firstly, the bionic principle, optimization mechanism and characteristics of the bat algorithm are analyzed and the algorithm optimization process are defined; Then the idea of the simulated annealing is put into bat optimization algorithm, and Gaussian disturbance is carried out to some individuals using the bat algorithm and strengthen the ability of the bat algorithm jumping out of local optimal solution. Finally, conduct simulations are respectively compared in 20 typical benchmark test functions among bat optimization algorithm, simulates annealing particle swarm algorithm and SAGBA algorithm. The results show that SAGBA algorithm not only increases the global convergence, but convergence speed and accuracy are better than other two algorithms.

        Dependency of Portevin-LeChatelier Effect and Microstructure Characteristics of 9Cr ODS Steels on Strain Rates Upon Hot Deformation

        The flow stress and microstructure evolution of 9Cr oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steels were investigated by isothermalcompression at 1000–1150 oC with strain rates from 0.001 to 1 s−1. Microstructure characteristics of ODS steelsunder various condition were studied using the EBSD and TEM techniques. At each deformation temperature, PortevinLe--Chatelier (PLC) effect characteristics of repeated serrated stress was observed, as the strain rates were 0.01, 0.1 and 1 s−1. The serrations fluctuated about the mean flow curve in quick succession, and the critical strain for the PLC effect was relatedto both the deformation temperature and strain rates. The stress drops at strain rates of 0.01 and 0.1 s−1 were smaller thanthose at 1 s−1. The strain rate affected the dynamic recovery and recrystallization of austenite grains, as well as the texturecomponents of martensite transformed from austenite. Cap-shaped oxide particles in as-fabricated and hot deformed steelswere characterized in detail. The cap parts of cap-shaped oxide particles were depleted of alloying elements, and the capswere crystal or amorphous. Large-sized oxide particles were easier to be deformed than small-sized ones. Despite of theoxide deformation, the PLC effect was still suggested to be related to the solute-dislocation interaction.

        Modeling, Dynamic Analysis and Control Design of Full-Bridge LLC Resonant Converters with Sliding-Mode and PI Control Scheme

        In this paper, a sliding mode and proportional plus integral (SM-PI) control combined with self-sustained phase shift modulation (SSPSM) for LLC resonant converters is presented. The proposed control scheme improves the transient response while preserving good steady-state performance. An averaged large signal model of an LLC converter with the ZVS modulation technique is developed for the SM control design. The sliding surface is obtained based on the input-output linearization concept. A system identification method is adopted to obtain the transform function of the LLC resonant converter, which is used to design the PI control. In order to reduce the inherent chattering problem in the steady state, the combined SM-PI control strategy is derived with fuzzy control, where the SM control is responsive during the transient state while the PI control prevails in the steady state. The combination of SSPSM and the SM-PI control provides ZVS operation, robustness and a fast transient response against step load variations. Simulation and experimental results validate the theoretical analysis and the attractive features of the proposed scheme.

        Biosensors and chemosensors based on the optical responses of polydiacetylenes

        <P>Polydiacetylenes (PDAs), a family of conjugated polymers, have very unique electrical and optical properties. Upon environmental stimulation, such as by viruses, proteins, DNAs, metal ions, organic molecules <I>etc</I>., the blue PDAs can undergo a colorimetric transition from blue to red, which is accompanied by a fluorescence enhancement. Since the first report on polymerized diacetylene molecules as sensors of influenza virus, the development of efficient sensory systems based on PDAs continues to be of great interest.         A composition of phosphaphenanthrene groups-containing castor-oil-based phosphate plasticizer for PVC: Synthesis, characterization and property

        A composition of phosphaphenanthrene groups-containing castor-oil-based phosphate plasticizer (PGPP) was synthesized and characterized. Flame retardant PVC blends cooperated with different mass of PGPP were prepared. Flame retardancy of PVC blends were investigated with LOI, TGA, TGA-FTIR, TGA-MS and cone calorimeter. Flame retardant mechanism was also studied. The flame retardant performance of PGPP provides novel route for efficient use of vegetable oil and preparing advanced flame retardant PVC materials.

        Machine Learning Complex Interactions Among Recovery, Precipitation, and Recrystallization for Nb Micro-Alloyed Steels

        Static softening behaviors that mainly includes recovery and recrystallization play the important role in controlling themicrostructure and mechanical properties of micro-alloyed steels during hot rolling, which is the essence for optimizing thecontrolled rolling processes. Chemical compositions and deformation conditions are the key factors to the static softeningbehaviors, but their quantitative influences are not clear due to the complex interactions among softening, precipitation, andhot deformation. In the present work, an integrated machine learning (ML) system for the static softening behaviors underdifferent chemical compositions and deformation conditions is established, based on ML modeling of strain-induced precipitationand the data collected from the published literatures. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was usedto determine the recovery and recrystallization model parameters for different niobium (Nb) micro-alloyed steels. Supportvector machine (SVM) was used to establish the relationships between these parameters and compositions and processingparameters. By using the integrated ML system, the effects of compositions and deformation conditions on the static softeningcritical temperature (SSCT), static softening behavior were predicted. The predictions were compared with the measuredvalues, indicating that the ML system can accurately predict static softening behaviors for different steel grades under differentprocessing conditions, which lays a foundation for the accurate design of controlled rolling processes.
