A Fractional Fourier Transform-Based Approach for Gas-Insulated Switchgear Partial Discharge Recognition

        Feng-Chang Gu,Feng-Chang Gu,Bo-Yan Chen 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.5

Partial discharge (PD) is very likely to deteriorate the insulating materials in power facilities. For this sake, PD detection and pattern recognition are treated as an effective approach to diagnosing the high-voltage insulation of power systems. A novel PD feature extraction approach for defect pattern recognition of a gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) is developed and then presented in this paper, using fractional Fourier transform (FrFT). A PD detector is utilized to measure the PD signal of the GIS using an ultra high frequency sensor, which is first transformed to its FrFT as the order ranges from 0 to 1. A 3D characteristic spectrum is then constructed, according to which the fractal parameters are extracted as the constituents of the cluster domains of defect types. Extension matter-element models of the PD defect types are then established according to the experimentally derived PD features. Subsequently, the PD defect type can be directly identified using the correlation degree between a tested pattern and the matter-element models. The pattern recognition performance is investigated on 80 sets of PD patterns, and the performance of the proposed approach is demonstrated accordingly. High accuracy, accompanied with high tolerance, was reached in the presence of noise interference using FrFT.

A Study on the Formal Systematization within the 3D Modeling Designs - Focused on The Law of Grouping -

Gu, Ling-Feng,Jeon, Hyung-Jin,Pak, Hong-Sik Korea Multimedia Society 2017 The journal of multimedia information system Vol.4 No.3

As to talk about computer aided 3D modeling, it can be conformed to the popular aesthetics based theory of heightening the organizing useful visual information. This thesis heightens the formativeness of the 3D modeling from the angle of the Gestalt psychology and attempts a finding of a method as also explains among the grouping laws of Gestalt. They are the definitions and the special features of 'The Law of Proximity', 'The Law of Similarity', 'The Law of Closure', 'The Law of Continuity', etc. And, through a logical, theoretical analysis, the relationships between such laws are found out. And the case examples of the uses of such laws in the 3D animation character designs and the situation in which such laws are applied to the things in the actual lives are analyzed. If it is intended to improve the formativeness of the 3D model forms, the rules of the simplicity, the safety, and the symmetry must be pursued according to the visual recognitions of the human beings. Because the actual objects are seen and touched, other than the visual pursuits by the human beings, the functionalities and the practicalities of the objects must be considered.

      • Intra-oral pre-treatment with capsaicin increases consumption of sweet solutions in rats

Gu, Xue Feng,Lee, Jong-Ho,Yoo, Sang Bae,Moon, Young Wha,Jahng, Jeong Won Informa UK (TaylorFrancis) 2009 Nutritional neuroscience Vol.12 No.4

<P>Sprague-Dawley rats received preference tests for sucrose or saccharin daily following oral treatment with 0.02% capsaicin. Consumed sweet solutions and preference scores increased in capsaicin-treated rats, compared to control rats on the second to fifth exposure period for sucrose and all exposure periods for saccharin. Chow intake was not affected by repeated treatment with capsaicin. Real-time RT-PCR analysis revealed decreased expression of sweet receptors T1R2 and T1R3 as well as capsaicin receptor VR1 in the circumvallate after this repeated oral exposure to capsaicin. VR1 immunoreactivities were also localized in the vallate taste cells by fluorescence immunohistochemistry. Results suggest that decreased expression of sweet receptors in the circumvallate may be related to increased sweet consumption in capsaicin-treated rats; any causal relationship should be further studied. Also, these data suggest that capsaicin may interact with a sweet transduction pathway in the mediation of its receptor VR1 that are located in the vallate taste cells.</P>

STRONG CONVERGENCE OF COMPOSITE IMPLICIT ITERATIVE PROCESS FOR A FINITE FAMILY OF NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS

Gu, Feng The Youngnam Mathematical Society Korea 2008 East Asian mathematical journal Vol.24 No.1

Let E be a uniformly convex Banach space and K be a nonempty closed convex subset of E. Let ${\{T_i\}}^N_{i=1}$ be N nonexpansive self-mappings of K with $F\;=\;{\cap}^N_{i=1}F(T_i)\;{\neq}\;{\theta}$ (here $F(T_i)$ denotes the set of fixed points of $T_i$). Suppose that one of the mappings in ${\{T_i\}}^N_{i=1}$ is semi-compact. Let $\{{\alpha}_n\}\;{\subset}\;[{\delta},\;1-{\delta}]$ for some ${\delta}\;{\in}\;(0,\;1)$ and $\{{\beta}_n\}\;{\subset}\;[\tau,\;1]$ for some ${\tau}\;{\in}\;(0,\;1]$. For arbitrary $x_0\;{\in}\;K$, let the sequence {$x_n$} be defined iteratively by $\{{x_n\;=\;{\alpha}_nx_{n-1}\;+\;(1-{\alpha}_n)T_ny_n,\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; \atop {y_n\;=\;{\beta}nx_{n-1}\;+\;(1-{\beta}_n)T_nx_n},\;{\forall}_n{\geq}1,}$, where $T_n\;=\;T_{n(modN)}$. Then {$x_n$} convergence strongly to a common fixed point of the mappings family ${\{T_i\}}^N_{i=1}$. The result presented in this paper generalized and improve the corresponding results of Chidume and Shahzad [C. E. Chidume, N. Shahzad, Strong convergence of an implicit iteration process for a finite family of nonexpansive mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 62(2005), 1149-1156] even in the case of ${\beta}_n\;{\equiv}\;1$ or N=1 are also new.

Feng Gu 영남수학회 2008 East Asian mathematical journal Vol.24 No.1

        Let E be a uniformly convex Banach space and K be a nonempty closed convex subset of E. Let {T_i}_{i=1}^N be N nonexpansive self-mappings of K with F = ∩^N_{i=1}F(Ti) not= ∅ (here F(Ti) denotes the set of fixed points of Ti). Suppose that one of the mappings in {Ti}^N_{i=1} is semi-compact. Let {a_n} ⊂ [d; 1 − d] for some d ∈ (0; 1) and {b_n} ⊂ [t; 1] for some t ∈ (0; 1]. For arbitrary x_0 ∈ K, let the sequence {x_n} be defined iteratively by x_n = a_n x_{n−1} + (1 − a_n)T_n y_n; y_n = b_n x_{n−1} + (1 − b_n)T_n x_n; ∀n ≥ 1; where T_n = T_n(mod N). EGFR-TKI Combined with Pemetrexed versus EGFR-TKI Monotherapy in Advanced EGFR-Mutated NSCLC: A Prospective, Randomized, Exploratory Study

        Weiguang Gu,Hua Zhang,Yiyu Lu,Minjing Li,Shuang Yang,Jianmiao Liang,Zhijian Ye,Zhihua Li,Minhong He,Xiaoliang Shi,Fei Wang,Dong You,Weiquan Gu,Weineng Feng 대한암학회 2023 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.55 No.3

Purpose We aimed to evaluate whether the addition of pemetrexed is effective in improving progression-free survival (PFS) in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)–mutated patients with or without concomitant alterations. Materials and Methods This multicenter clinical trial was conducted in China from June 15, 2018, to May 31, 2019. A total of 92 non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients harboring EGFR-sensitive mutations were included and divided into concomitant and non-concomitant groups. Patients in each group were randomly treated with EGFR–tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) monotherapy or EGFR-TKI combined with pemetrexed in a ratio of 1:1. PFS was recorded as the primary endpoint. Results The overall median PFS of this cohort was 10.1 months. There were no significant differences in PFS between patients with and without concomitant and between patients received TKI monotherapy and TKI combined with pemetrexed (p=0.210 and p=0.085, respectively). Stratification analysis indicated that patients received TKI monotherapy had a significantly longer PFS in non-concomitant group than that in concomitant group (p=0.002). In concomitant group, patients received TKI combined with pemetrexed had a significantly longer PFS than patients received TKI monotherapy (p=0.013). Molecular dynamic analysis showed rapidly emerging EGFR T790M in patients received TKI monotherapy. EGFR mutation abundance decreased in patients received TKI combined chemotherapy, which supports better efficacy for a TKI combined chemotherapy as compared to TKI monotherapy. A good correlation between therapeutic efficacy and a change in circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) status was found in 66% of patients, supporting the guiding role of ctDNA minimal residual disease (MRD) in NSCLC treatment. Conclusion EGFR-TKI monotherapy is applicable to EGFR-sensitive patients without concomitant alterations, while a TKI combined chemotherapy is applicable to EGFR-sensitive patients with concomitant alterations. CtDNA MRD may be a potential biomarker for predicting therapeutic efficacy.

A Systematic Study of the Meaning Conveyed by Morphology in 3D Modeling Design

Ling Feng Gu,박홍식 한국콘텐츠학회 2023 International Journal of Contents Vol.19 No.1

Implementation of 3D modeling design through morphological systematization represents a cuttingedge design methodology. However, this innovative approach has yet to establish a cohesive theoretical framework. Therefore, this paper utilized principles of Gestalt psychology as a foundation for significant research. By analyzing characteristics of organizational principles, the following eight essential keywords related to morphological systematization were proposed: “similar color,” “similar size,” “similar shape,” “distance,” “response,” “directional,” “overlapping,” and “incomplete.” These keywords were then synthesized to construct a morphological system framework that could allow content developers to aesthetically investigate various forms of 3D modeling and assess the strength of their formative attributes.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation to Investigate the Rake Angle Effects on Nanometric Cutting of Single Crystal Ni3Al

        Rui-cheng Feng,Yong-nian Qi,Zong-xiao Zhu,Wen-yuan Song,Hai-yan Li,Mao-mao Wang,Zhi-yuan Rui,Feng-shou Gu 한국정밀공학회 2020 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.21 No.4

Molecular dynamics, an eff ective method to gain an insight into nanometric behaviour of materials, was employed to studythe nano-cutting behaviour of single crystal Ni 3 Al in nanometric scale. In this paper, comparisons were made for compressive/tensile stress, subsurface damage and surface roughness with three rake angles of a diamond tool. Subsurface damage waspartitioned by region and studied with work hardening in detail. A model for precise characterization of surface roughnesswas established with consideration of local surface fl uctuation. Simulation results showed that the chip thickness increasedas rake angle changed from negative to positive, and the boundary formed between tensile and compressive stress was inconsistent with the glide direction of stacking fault. Subsurface damage decreased as the increase of rake angle, and regularglide planes of stacking faults were found in front of the cutting tool. Further, the pinned dissociated 1/2 < 110 > superpartialdislocation with anti-phase boundary was demonstrated. The model was tested and characterized by implanted pits onperfect surface. Results showed that surface roughness can be well characterized, and an evident discrepancy was observedamong three rake angles, especially for 30° rake angle, which showed an distinct smooth surface compared with the others.
