A 10-year-old intact female Miniature Schnauzer dog was referred with the primary complaint of persistentanorexia, remittent fever, vomiting and abdominal pain. Hemogram suggested a chronic inflammatory disease. Serumbiochemistry showed moderate hepatobiliary cellular damage with severe cholestasis. Abdominal radiography andultrasonography revealed hepatomegaly, choleliths and sludges in gall bladder and small stones in urinary bladder. Basedcholecystectomy and cystectomy, choleliths and uroliths were removed from gall bladder and urinary bladder,respectively. The clinical condition was dramatically improved after surgery.

본 논문에서는 전력 용량 10kW급의 새로운 양방향 PWM Sepic/Zeta 회로를 사용한 컨버터를 제안한다. 이 회로를 설계하고, 이 컨버터의 설계가 동작 가능한지에 Matlab의 Simulink를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다.

Studies on carbon fiber epoxy composite is being conducted broadly in industries because of its specific stiffness, specific strength and good fatigue resistance. Because carbon fiber epoxy composite has high vibration characteristics, if existing metal material is alternated by carbon fiber epoxy composite, structure will be low weight, satisfy 1st bending natural frequency and have high fatigue resistance. In this study, research on to manufacture hybrid propeller-shaft using carbon fiber epoxy composite instead of current steel propeller shaft of rear wheel drive vehicle. For this, change of 1st bending natural frequency by the number of layers of carbon fiber epoxy composite on the outer surface of aluminum shaft was observed. Compared the change of 1st bending natural frequency by FEA with computer simulation and vibration test. Through this, the amount of increase in 1st bending natural frequency of hybrid shaft by the increase in number of layers of carbon fiber epoxy composite and high vibration characteristics of hybrid shaft was acknowledged.

In this study, a desktop forming system which enables hydro dynamic bearing forming was developed. It consists of power train system, frequency forming system, manufactured Die-set, and controller of desktop forming system. The desktop micro forming system is focused on a higher load capacity and a shorter forming time than conventional system. Therefore it was designed for power train capability and load condition of Ball Screw. Moreover, a Piezo actuator was installed to make accurate machining possible, however, the Piezo actuator generate noise and vibration. Thus we performed the analysis of dynamic characteristics through the experiment about developed system in order to reduce such problems and discuss the alternative methods.

In this paper, gear system for Micro-press actuator parts is developed. The micro-press system consists of AC geared servo motor, gear system and high precision ball screw. Herein, the micro-press gear system not only forms the micro thin foil valve but also forms the hydro dynamic bearing for a high precision rotational equipment. we analyzed the transmitted power capacity of gear system and torque, angular velocity of ball screw, because we are to select the appropriate servo motor and then we apply result of analysis to the micro press system. For the next step, we plan to study for the development of forming speed for a productivity with high precision.

Purpose: In patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with brain metastases, it remains controversial whether the use of EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) alone without radiotherapy (RT) is an optimal approach. Methods: This single-centre retrospective study included a total of 173 patients who were treated with EGFR-TKI alone (TKI group) or with upfront whole-brain RT (WBRT) or stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) followed by EGFR-TKI (upfront RT group). Clinical outcomes according to initial and subsequent therapies following intracranial progression were analysed. Results: Only intracranial progression was found in 35 (33%) of 107 patients in the TKI group (Figure). Among them, 19 patients received RT, whereas 16 patients could not, mostly due to the deteriorating general condition, leading to the worst prognosis (median overall survival (OS); 28.6 vs. 11.2 months; P = 0.041). In the upfront RT group, 12 (18%) of the 66 patients experienced intracranial progression and 3 of them received salvage RT (median OS; 37.4 vs. 20.0 months; P = 0.044). There was no significant difference in OS according to the use of upfront RT (TKI group, 24.5 months vs. WBRT group, 20.0 months vs. SRS group, 17.8 months; P = 0.186). However, upfront WBRT was associated with trends towards a lower probability of intracranial progression, whereas upfront SRS was found to be an independent risk factor for poor OS in multivariate analysis. Conclusion: Using EGFR-TKI alone for brain metastasis in EGFR-mutant lung cancer patients showed outcomes comparable to those using upfront RT followed by EGFR-TKI. Patients who could not receive salvage RT following intracranial progression had the worst survival regardless of the type of initial treatment.

Bedaquiline and delamanid were recently approved for the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in Korea. A treatment duration of 24 weeks was established based on phase 2 clinical trial data, although the combined use of these two drugs is typically not recommended because it may exaggerate QT prolongation. Here, we present a case of prolonged treatment (48 weeks) with a combination of bedaquiline and delamanid for pulmonary MDR-TB. The patient had previously been diagnosed with extensively drug-resistant TB but had been left untreated for the past 9 years due to a shortage of effective drugs. A combination of bedaquiline and delamanid successfully treated MDR-TB, highlighting the potential efficacy of these drugs for patients with drug-resistant TB infections.
