Effect of Nutrition Counseling Program on Weight Control in Obese University Students

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of nutrition counseling program and related factors on weight control for obese university students. Subjects were 24 students with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or above. The program was conducted from September 16th to November 18th, 2015. Change of body composition, blood index and nutrient intake were observed in subjects before and after the program. The average age of the subjects was 23.2 years old and the percentage of male and female was 66.7% and 33.0%, respectively. There were tendencies of decrease in weight, amount of body fat, BMI, and body fat percentage. The blood test showed that values of all biochemical parameters were in the normal range before and after the program. When the change of the nutrient intake was examined and compared with the Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs), there was a tendency of decreased intake in most of the nutrients including protein. However, the nutrient quality index showed increasing tendency, which implies that the intake of micronutrients was getting balances simultaneously with the decrease of calorie intake.

본 연구에서는 일반인 대상의 한의 분야 지식 포털인 KOIN(한의 사람들, http://www.koin.re.kr)을 설계하고 구현하였다. 기존의 한의 관련 포털들은 한의사나 한의학 연구자들을 대상으로 콘텐츠를 제공하고 커뮤니티를 운영하고 있다. 반면 네이버와 같은 일반 포털들은 일반인이 이해하기 쉬운 콘텐츠를 제공하지만 정보의 일관성이나 신뢰성이 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 일반인이 필요한 콘텐츠와 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 우선 일반인들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이 결과를 반영해서 포털의 주요 기능을 설계하였으며, 일반인 대상의 한의 콘텐츠를 구축하였다. 향후에는 지속적으로 유용한 한의 건강 지식을 추가로 구축하고 커뮤니티가 활발히 운영될 수 있도록 함으로써 일반인들이 한의 지식을 쉽게 얻을 수 있도록 할 계획이다. In this paper, we designed and implemented KOIN(Korean medicine 人, http://www.koin.re.kr), a Korean medicine knowledge portal. While there were several portals in the Korean medicine field, they provided technical contents and communities for doctors and researchers of Korean medicine. The usual portals such as naver provide the contents which the general public can understand, but their consistency and reliability are deficient. In this paper, first of all, requirements for the Korean medicine portal have been surveyed to supply contents and services for the general public. The requirements were reflected to the functions of our portal and the construction of Korean medicine knowledge for the general public. In future, we will continue to add the useful health knowledge in Korean medicine as well as actively operate Korean medicine communities so that users can obtain Korean medicine knowledge easily.

무선 네트워크가 설치되어있는 곳이면 언제 어디서나 네트워크로 정보를 이용할 수 있게 되었다. 사물들끼리 네트워크를 이용하여 정보를 주고받을 수 있는 사물인터넷을 기반으로 하는 수목원 관리 프로그램 설계하였다. 본 논문에서는 사물인터넷을 이용하여 수목원 관리자가 수목원관리를 하는 해결방안을 제시하였고, 해결방안으로 수목원 관리프로그램을 개발하기 전 단계인 설계 결과물을 볼 수 있다.

<P>Cl-amidine, which is a small-molecule inhibitor of PAD, has therapeutic potential for inflammation-mediated diseases. However, little is known regarding the manner by which PAD inhibition by Cl-amidine regulates inflammatory conditions. Here, we investigated the effects of PAD inhibition by Cl-amidine on the functioning of DCs, which are pivotal immune cells that mediate inflammatory diseases. When DC maturation was induced by TLR agonists, reduced cytokine levels (IL-6, IL-1 beta, and IL-12p70) were observed in Cl-amidine-treated DCs. Cl-amidine-treated, LPS-activated DCs exhibited alterations in their mature and functional statuses with up-regulated antigen uptake, down-regulated CD80, and MHC molecules. In addition, Cl-amidine-treated DCs dysregulated peptide-MHC class formations. Interestingly, the decreased cytokines were independent of MAPK/NF-kappa B signaling pathways and transcription levels, indicating that PAD inhibition by Cl-amidine may be involved in post-transcriptional steps of cytokine production. Transmission electron microscopy revealed morphotypical changes with reduced dendrites in the Cl-amidine-treated DCs, along with altered cellular compartments, including fragmented ERs and the formation of foamy vesicles. Furthermore, in vitro and in vivo Cl-amidine treatments impaired the proliferation of naive CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells. Overall, our findings suggest that Cl-amidine has therapeutic potential for treating inflammation-mediated diseases.</P>

네트워크를 이용하여 정보를 주고받을 수 있는 사물 인터넷과 메시지 전송 기능(GCM)을 기반으로 하는 화재 방지 프로그램을 설계하였다. 본 논문에서는 창고 관리자가 화재를 방지할 수 있는 해결 방안을 제시하였고, 해결방안인 화재 방지 프로그램의 설계 결과물과 구현 과정들을 볼 수 있다.

누에(Bombyx mori)번데기는 창상치료용 드레싱, 간보호활성, 항유전독성, 포도당농도 조절, 항암활성 등에 다양하게 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 붉은동충하초(Cordyceps militaris)를 이용하여 발효시킨 누에번데기분말의 에탄올 추출물(Ethanol extract of silkworm pupae fermented with Cordyceps militaris, ESfC)의 항비만효능을 분석하기 위하여, SD랫드로부터 분리된 일차지방세포(Primary adipocytes)에서 농도별로 ESfC를 처리하여 free glycerol release, cAMP농도를 측정하였고, 고지방사료(High fat diet, HFD)가 처리된 C57BL/6N 비만마우스에 ESfC를 투여하여 지방조직과 간조직에서 지방축적(Fat accumulation)을 관찰하였다. 먼저, 지방감소효과를 나타내는 지표물질로서 cordycepin의 존재는 HPLC분석을 통하여 ESfC에서 확인하였다. 또한, free glycerol수준과 cAMP농도는 고농도 ESfC가 처리된 일차지방 세포에서 유의적으로 증가하였지만 이들 수준은 저농도와 중농도의 ESfC로처리세포에서는 유의적인 변화가 없었다. HFD-유도 비만모델에서, 고지방사료의 투여에 의해 유의적으로 증가된 지방무게와 지방세포의 크기는 ESfC처리그룹에서 감소되었다. 간 무게와 지방방울(Lipid droplet)의 수는 고지방사료의 투여에 의해 증가하였지만 ESfC투여에 의해 유의적으로 감소하였다. 또한, 유사한 회복효과는 perilipin과 HSL의 인산화 수준뿐만 아니라 ATGL의 발현수준에서도 관찰되었다. 따라서 이상의 결과는 ESfC가 지방일차세포에서 지방분해를 촉진하고, HFS유도 비만모델에서 지방 축적을 억제하는 효과를 나타냄을 보여주고 있으며, 향후 비만환자에 처리하기 위한 약물로서 사용가능성을 제시하고 있다. Silkworm (Bombyx mori) pupae have been widely worked in wound dressing, hepatoprotective activity, antigenotoxicity, control of glucose level and anti-cancer activity. To investigate the anti-obesity activity of ethanol extract of silkworm pupae powder fermented with Cordyceps militaris (ESfC), the free glycerol release and cAMP concentration as well as fat accumulation were measured in the primary adipocytes of SD (Sprague Dawley) rats and high fat diet (HFD)-treated C57BL/6 mice treated with 12 weeks. Firstly, the presence of the cordycepin with lipid lowering effect was confirmed in ESfC using HPLC analysis. The level of free glycerol and cAMP concentration was significantly increased in the primary adipocytes treated with high dose of ESfC (400 μg/ml) although these levels were consistently maintained in other dose ESfC treated groups. In HFD-induced obesity model, the increased fat weight and size of adipocytes in HFD+Vehicle treated group was recovered in HFD+ESfC treated group. Also, the liver weight and the number of lipid droplets were higher in HFD+Vehicle treated group than No treated group. But, this level was significantly decreased in HFD+ESfC treated group compared with HFD+Vehicle treated group. Furthermore, a similar recovery was detected on the phosphorylation of periliphin and HSL, and ATGL expression. Overall, the results of the present study provide some scientific evidences that ESfC can stimulate lipolysis in primary adipocytes and prevent fat accumulation in HFD-treated obesity model, and therefore have the potential for use as anti-obesity agents to treat obese patient.
Hypothermia Regulates Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 Gene Expression in PC12 Cells

In this study, we evaluated the effects of various hypothermic conditions (32℃), including lithium chloride treatment, on insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) gene expression in PC12 cells. The results show that short-term hypothermic treatment (<1 day) resulted in relatively higher IGF-1 gene expression than did longer-term treatment (>1 day). Repeated switching between normal temperature and hypothermia every 2 h increased IGF-1 gene expression approximately 3-4-fold. These findings indicate that hypothermia dynamically regulates IGF-1 gene expression. This study could be helpful for the development of treatment and diagnostic strategies for ischemia.
