This study aims to develop new dancing movements with the application of the dependent origination theory of Buddhism. The researchers composed a dance piece based on meanings and structure of dependent origination as a Buddhist perception of phenomena, and symbol of Indra-Jala. We draw the artistic value and symbol by establishing the theoretical basis for the production of the dance based on dependent origination, and then apply it to the creation of movements. Through this process, this study suggests to reconsider the direction of life value in modern society filled with individualistic perspective and secular thinking. We also discover the artistic meanings and implications of the process of applying a theory into a dance.

An advanced tangential X-ray pinhole camera (TXPC) has been developed for KSTAR by utilizing a 2-D duplex multi-wire proportional counter (MWPC) detector. The KSTAR MWPC employs a 2-D parallel type readout system for high temporal resolution and adopts a duplex type for the capability of electron temperature measurement via the multi-color method. This paper presents the performance test result of the developed MWPC system utilizing a Fe-55 X-ray source. As a preliminary experimental result from the 2012 KSTAR campaign, the clear presentation of sawtooth activities and its frequency change, and 2-D plasma images during the vertical disruption event are given.

The purpose of this study was to examine how apparel consumers’ preference forphysical or virtual shopping channels is related to gender and consumers’ dispositionaltraits of need for touch (NFT) and centrality of visual product aesthetics (CVPA). A survey was conducted using a convenience sample of 276 US college students. Datawere analyzed using descriptive statistics, MANOVA and ANOVA. Results of thisstudy indicate that participants with high NFT or CVPA had a greater preference forvirtual channels than participants with low NFT or CVPA. Gender by itself was not animportant influence in preference for shopping channels; however, the results of thisstudy revealed that gender interacted with NFT and CVPA on preference for virtualchannels. Men with high NFT or CVPA showed the highest preference for virtualchannels, while women with high NFT or CVPA did not differ from other groups intheir preference for virtual channels. There were no main effects and no interactionsamong variables on preference for physical channels. This study is the first toinvestigate the interactions of gender with NFT and CVPA in preference for apparelshopping channels.
Characterization of the Effects of Silver Nanoparticles on Liver Cell Using HR-MAS NMR Spectroscopy

AgNPs (silver nanoparticles) has been widely used for the commercial products, which have antimicrobial agent, medical devices, food industry and cosmetics. Despite, AgNPs have been reported as toxic to the mammalian cell, lung, liver, brain and other organs and many researchers have investigated the toxicity of AgNPs. In this study, we investigated toxicity of the AgNPs to the liver cell using metabolomics based on HRMAS NMR (High Resolution Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) technics, which could apply to the intact tissues or cells, to avoid the sample destruction. Target profiling and multivariative statistical analysis were performed to analyze the 1D ^1H spectrum. The results show that the concentrations of many metabolites were affected by the AgNPs in the liver cell. The concentrations of glutathione (GSH), lactate,taurine, and glycine were decreased and most of amino acids, choline analogues, and pyruvate were increased by the AgNPs. Moreover, the levels of the metabolites were recovered upto similar level of metabolites in the normal cell by the pre-treatment of NAC, external antioxidant. The results suggest that the depletion of the GSH by the AgNPs might induce the conversion of lactate and taurine to the pyruvate.
