      • An Improved Collaborative Filtering Recommendation Algorithm

        An improved CF algorithm based on the classification of items is introduced to overcome the problems caused by the data sparseness and inaccuracy of the user neighbors. The new algorithm first rates the unrated items by applying the item classification, and then calculates the user similarity within classes for nearest-neighbors, after which it could recommend the items based on the final prediction.

        Interfacial Polyelectrolyte Complexation Spinning of Cellulose Nanofibers/CdTe Quantum Dots for Anti-counterfeiting Fluorescent Textiles

        Cellulose-based fluorescent fibers were successfully fabricated by interfacial polyelectrolyte complexation (IPC)spinning, in which thioglycolic acid-modified CdTe quantum dots (QDs) were incorporated. The fibers exhibited differentfluorescent colors depending on different sizes of CdTe QDs. The IPC spinning process based on the progressive selfassemblyof negatively charged cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and positively charged chitosan endowed the fibers highorientation degree. Together with the superior mechanical property of CNFs and the strong interfacial ionic bond andhydrogen bond interaction between CNFs and chitosan, the fluorescent fibers showed a high tensile strength above 689 MPaand toughness above 25 MJ/m3, which provided a guarantee for weaving the fluorescent fibers into textiles. With excellentoptical and mechanical performance, the resulting fluorescent fibers showed a promising potential as flexible wearable anticounterfeitingdevices, which the hard-to-see tag woven using the fluorescent fibers appeared clearly under 365 nmultraviolet light illumination. This paper would provide a new avenue for the preparation of high-performance environmentfriendlyfluorescent anti-counterfeiting textiles.

      • Convolutional Neural Networks for Analyzing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Sound

        The emergence of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) is pervasive throughout society. A growing segment of usage is of a dubious nature for harassment, illegal activity and terrorism. Detection of unknown UAV’s has become a requirement for many organizations and agencies to thwart the emergence of UAV’s that are in some way threatening. To detect UAV, the use of acoustic signals has become an useful area of research. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are one of several models of deep learning, applied in various fields such as image recognition and natural language processing. In this project, we design a system to detect the presence of possible detection and payload detection using CNNs on the basis of sound data generated from UAV flights. The sound of recorded drones is pre-processed into spectral data by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Mel-Frequency Cepstrum (MFCC) and given as the input value to the CNN model. The results show that it is possible to detect and differentiate UAVs which have standard weight and also with additional payload. In short, the project has two detection goals. One is the acoustic detection of a UAV, and the second is the determination if that UAV has a payload.

        Investigation on the Preparation and properties of reticulate porous ceramic for organism carrier in sewage disposal

        The purpose of this study is to prepare cheaper and higher performance reticulate porous ceramic (RPC) which is quitesuitable for using in organic carrier. The RPC was made by clay through the polymeric foam replication process. The X-raypowder diffraction (XRD) phase analysis indicated that the RPC was mainly comprised mullite when sintered at 1350 oC. Thesurface status of different component RPCs were also observed under scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The bio-filmproperties of RPC with different component and pore size were evaluated by the removal rates of CODCr and NH3-N. Theresults illustrated that the RPC had high effectiveness on the adsorption of micro-organism, the removal rates of CODCr andNH3-N were all reached to ~ 90%. The bio-film effect was associated to porosity, pore size and surface status of the RPC. Moreover, the porosity and pore size played more importantly role than the surface status in the process of bio-film for theRPC carriers. In fact, the RPC carriers with more porosity and suitable pore size achieve better sewage treatment effect.

        再说“您”和“您们”

        In modern Chinese, the pronoun “nin” has the second person singular honorific meaning. The sound of “nin”, firstly expressing the plural meaning,derives from the integration of “ninmen” sound in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, from which the monosyllabic “nin”has gradually started to generate the singular meaning and finally the singular meaning has become its main meaning. In the late Qing Dynasty, “nin”, from two structures of “nin+ kinship terms”and “ni lao renjia”, evolved into a word that would express the honorific meaning and then becomesa full-time second person singular honorific pronoun in modern Chinese.The definition of “nin”in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th edition) deserves discussion.“Ninmen”comes into beingunder the analogic mechanism of pronoun plurals such as“nimen”. After the generation of the honorific meaning of “nin”, “nimen” continues to existas a plural form, which conforms to the Chinese word formation rules.It fillsa vacancy of pragmatics, enjoys an increasingly expanding scope of use, and doesn’t vanish after several years. The use frequency of “nin erwei” and other related forms,which are positively affirmed, is far below the one of“ninmen”. The rationality of “ninmen” should be admitted and it should be considered to absorb “ninmen” into modern Chinese vocabulary system. 代词“您”在现代汉语中表示第二人称单数敬称义。“您”在金元时期由“你们”合音而来,表示复数义,单音节的“您”逐渐发展出单数义并占据优势,清代末期,“您”从“您+亲属称谓”和“你老人家”两个结构中发展出敬称义,进而成为汉语中专职的第二人称单数敬称代词,《现代汉语词典》(第7版)中对“您”的释义还值得商榷。“您们”是在“你们”等代词复数形式的类推机制下产生的,“您”的敬称义产生后,“您们”作为复数形式继续存在,其产生符合汉语构词规则,能填补语用上的空位,使用范围日渐扩大,历经数年仍未消亡,一向被积极肯定的“您二位”等相关形式使用频率却远低于“您们”,应承认“您们”的合理性,并考虑将其纳入现代汉语词汇系统中。

        Effective Pre-rating Method Based on Users' Dichotomous Preferences and Average Ratings Fusion for Recommender Systems

        With an increase in the scale of recommender systems, users’ rating data tend to be extremely sparse. Some methods have been utilized to alleviate this problem; nevertheless, it has not been satisfactorily solved yet. Therefore, we propose an effective pre-rating method based on users’ dichotomous preferences and average ratings fusion. First, based on a user-item ratings matrix, a new user-item preference matrix was constructed to analyze and model user preferences. The items were then divided into two categories based on a parameterized dynamic threshold. The missing ratings for items that the user was not interested in were directly filled with the lowest user rating; otherwise, fusion ratings were utilized to fill the missing ratings. Further, an optimized parameter λ was introduced to adjust their weights. Finally, we verified our method on a standard dataset. The experimental results show that our method can effectively reduce the prediction error and improve the recommendation quality. As for its application, our method is effective, but not complicated.

        Ultrasonic Vibration and Rheocasting for Refinement of Mg–Zn–Y Alloy Reinforced with LPSO Structure

        In this work, ultrasonic vibration (UV) and rheo-squeeze casting was first applied on the Mg alloy reinforced with long periodstacking ordered (LPSO) structure. The semisolid slurry of Mg–Zn–Y alloy was prepared by UV and processed by rheosqueezecasting in succession. The effects of UV, Zr addition and squeeze pressure on microstructure of semisolid Mg–Zn–Yalloy were studied. The results revealed that the synergic effect of UV and Zr addition generated a finer microstructure thaneither one alone when preparing the slurries. Rheo-squeeze casting could significantly refine the LPSO structure and α-Mgmatrix in Mg96.9Zn1Y2Zr0.1alloy without changing the phase compositions or the type of LPSO structure. When the squeezepressure increased from 0 to 400 MPa, the block LPSO structure was completely eliminated and the average thickness ofLPSO structure decreased from 9.8 to 4.3 μm. Under 400 MPa squeeze pressure, the tensile strength and elongation of therheocast Mg96.9Zn1Y2Zr0.1alloy reached the maximum values, which were 234 MPa and 17.6%, respectively, due to its fineα-Mg matrix (α1-Mg and α2-Mg grains) and LPSO structure.

      • The Great Poet Tao Yuanming`s Health Maintenance Habit and His Literature Creation in Ancient China

        Tao Yuanming (A.D.365-427), a great poet of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (A.D.4-5) in ancient China, was well known in the world. In this paper, I have researched Tao Yuanming’s drug addiction, health maintenance and his literature creation. In fluenced by the custom of the time and his family, he fell over himself for health maintenance period. He was crazed in pursuit for eternal life, and drank chrysanthemum wine and took wonder drugs, which were not a common medicine but a poison called Wushi Powder. When he was only fifteen, Tao Yuanming started paying attention to the ways of maintaining his health and appearance. The artists of later ages draw their ideal portraits of Tao Yuanming, such as the famous painting Picture of Homeward Ho by Li Gonglin, a famous painter in Ming Dynasty, which was kept in the Taipei Palace Museum.
