        Research Trends of 'One Belt One Road' in Korean Academic Circles

        This proposed work aims to understand the Korean Academic Circle (KAC)'s research trend on the "One Belt One Road" (OBOR) by employing a quantitative analysis of the recent research articles published by the KAC. To do so, this proposed research has used the well-known network analysis software, Ucinet 6, by which the papers on related topics are collected and filtered from Korea Citation Index. To perform the analytical selection, the proposed work has chosen 'keywords' as the core research object and performed analysis from transverse to longitudinal aspects, and from holistic to individual aspects, respectively; and from this, the KAC's research trend on OBOR is derived. The present work has established that the KAC's attention is continuously increasing on OBOR and has sustainability. Centered on the OBOR, Korean researchers have spread their studies in various dimensions ranging from the issues like China's political economy to Sino-Korea economic and trade exchanges, and so on. The KAC has even combined OBOR with Korea's international development initiatives, which can help Korea benefit from active and sustainable cooperation with China. Moreover, the proposed work has found that Korean researchers have also actively expressed their growing attention, highlighted Korea's interest, and showed concern about China hegemony and Sinocentrism in their recent documented research works.

      • MTHFR Gene Polymorphisms are Not Involved in Pancreatic Cancer Risk: A Meta-analysis

        Purpose: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene polymorphisms have been reported to be associated with pancreatic cancer, but the published studies have yielded inconsistent results. This study assessed the relationship between MTHFR gene polymorphisms and the risk for pancreatic cancer using a meta-analysis approach. Methods:A search of Google scholar, PubMed, Cochrane Library and CNKI databases before April 2012 was performed, and then associations of the MTHFR polymorphisms with pancreatic cancer risk were summarized. The association was assessed by odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Publication bias was also calculated. Results: Four relative studies on MTHFR gene polymorphisms (C667T and A1298C) were included in this meta-analysis. Overall, C667T (TT vs. CC:OR=1.61,95%CI=0.78-3.34; TT vs. CT: OR=1.41,95%CI=0.88-2.25; Dominant model:OR=0.68,95%CI=0.40-1.17; Recessive model: OR=0.82,95%CI=0.52-1.30) and A1298C (CC vs. AA:OR=1.01,95%CI=0.47-2.17; CC vs. AC: OR=0.99,95%CI=0.46-2.14; Dominant model:OR=1.01, 95%CI=0.47-2.20; Recessive model: OR=1.01,95%CI=0.80-1.26) did not increase pancreatic cancer risk. Conclusions: This meta-analysis indicated that MTHFR polymorphisms (C667T and A1298C) are not associated with pancreatic cancer risk.

      • Visual Analysis of Populism Research in Academic Circles Under the Background of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor : Visualization Analysis based on BDP Data

        파기스탄은 중국과 공식 외교관계를 맺은 첫번째 이슬람 국가이다, 양국의 전통적 우호관계 및 “전천후 전략적 협력 동반자관계”는 중-파 경제회랑에 외교적으로 기여해 왔고, 지역 협력에도 기여해 왔다. 하지만, 근래 파기스탄의 포퓰리즘은 양국의 경제무역협력 및 인문교류의 걸림돌이 되고 있다. 본 논문은 우선 질적으로 국내외 학술계가 포퓰리즘에 관한 문헌을 정리하였다, 그리고 양적으로 BDP 데이터분석 소프트웨어를 통해 국내외 학계의 포퓰리즘 관련 문헌을 시각화분석(Visualization)하였다. 또한 시각화가 파기스탄 포퓰리즘에, 또는 중-파 경제회랑에 주는 시사점도 도출하였다. 아직 국내외 학술계가 파기스탄의 포퓰리즘에 크게 주목하지 않고, 포퓰리즘의 정도도 그리 심각하지는 않다. 그러나 파기스탄의 포퓰리즘은 민족성 및 나라의 특수성 때문에 주기적인 발전과정을 거치고 있기 때문에, 중국-파키스탄 경제회랑 등이 지속적으로 심화하는 상황에서는, 향후 파기스탄의 포퓰리즘이 심각해질 수도 있다. Pakistan is the first Islamic country with which China has established diplomatic relations. Ever since then, both countries’ continuous friendship and the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership have contributed to the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC) under the Belt and Road initiative scheme. However, the recent rise of populism in Pakistan has become a major obstacle to developing economic and trade cooperation between Beijing and Istanbul. This research firstly starts with a qualitative aspect tracing the concept of populism, and collates and analyzes relevant literature. Secondly, this paper uses a visual analysis on populism based on a quantitative aspect. Lastly, this paper summarizes some enlightening significance for promoting the construction of CPEC through visual analysis. In this paper, combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, we find that Pakistani populism is not a hot topic in Chinese and foreign academic circles. Pakistan is not yet a key disaster area for the spread of populism. At the present stage, populism in Pakistan shows a periodic process of gradual development and change based on its special national conditions and national characteristics. This paper also predicts that populism in Pakistan will continue to spread with the deepening of China-Pakistan cooperation and is likely to become a hot spot in academic circles at home and abroad in the future.

      • GaAs Thin Films Grown on Conducting Glass by Hot Wall Epitaxy for Solar Cell

        GaAs polycrystalline thin films with good performance were prepared on conducting glass by hot wall epitaxy (HWE), which were used for solar cell. Electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) was applied for the composition, morphology of surface and cross-section of grown films, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) for their phase structure; Raman scattering spectrum (RSS) and photoluminescence (PL) were used for evaluating their optical characteristics. The results show that, there is textured structure on the surface of grown GaAs polycrystalline films, which is greatly promised to be suitable for the candidate of solar cell with low cost and high efficiency. It is concluded that the source and substrate at temperature of 900~930℃ and 500℃ respectively would be beneficial for such films.

      • An Analysis of South Korea’s Economic Diplomacy Strategy in Central Asia

        한국과 중앙아시아 국가들 간의 외교 관계는 1992 년에 성공적으로 수립되었는데, 이것은 이미 지금까지 27 년 동안 발전해 왔다. 계속되는 양국 관계의 심화와 함께 한국과 중앙아시아 국가들 간의 경제 및 무역관계가 강화되었고, 양국간 교류 빈도도 현저히 증가했다. 아시아에서 네 번째로 큰 경제 대국인 한국은 중앙아시아에서의 경제 및 외교전략에서 더 큰 잠재력을 보이고 있다. 특히 한국은 2013 년 유라시아이니셔티브 와 2017년 신북정책 을 제안해 중앙아시아 국가들이 중요한 파트너로 평가받았고, 보다 적극적인 경제협력 전략이 추진될 것으로 보인다. 따라서 향후 한국과 중앙아시아 국가 간 경제협력이 뚜렷하게 발전할 것으로 보는 것이 타당하다. The diplomatic relations between South Korea and Central Asian countries was successfully established in 1992, which has already seen a 27-year development so far. Along with the continuous deepening of bilateral relations, the economic and trade relations between South Korea and Central Asian countries have been strengthened, and the frequency of bilateral exchanges have also remarkably increased. As the fourth largest economy in Asia, South Korea shows greater potential in its economic and diplomatic strategies in Central Asia. Especially, South Korea proposed the “Eurasia Initiative” in 2013 and the “New Northern Policy” in 2017, in which Central Asian countries are regarded as important partners, and a more active economic cooperation strategy would be promoted. Hence, it is reasonable to believe that the economic cooperation between South Korea and Central Asian countries is expected to develop clearly in the future.

      • SLOTTED ATM COMPUTER RING NETWORK-THROUGHPUT AND DELAY

        This paper introduces a slotted ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ring network. The available bandwidth allocated to the node on the ring is analyzed. Under some assumptions we discover that the maximum throughput is only related to the mean cell trip (m). We demonstrate that the cell queue model in the node is Geometric /Geometric/ 1 queue. Finally, some numerical results of the network throughput and cell delay on the node are given.

        Dynamic Unloading Instability Mechanism of Underground Cavern Based on Seepage-Damage Coupling

        The seepage-damage coupling effect will aggravate the instability of the surrounding rock during the unloading process of underground cavern excavation. Considering this coupling effect and excavation disturbance, the theoretical solution of the stress state of surrounding rock is derived by using the elastic-brittle damage model. The dynamic criterion of the instability and water inrush is presented. Based on the theoretical derivation, the calculation program for the seepage-damage analysis of the surrounding rock under dynamic unloading is programmed, and the seepage flow and the radius of the damage zone of the surrounding rock are calculated. By analysing the variation of radius of the damaged zone with pore water pressure and excavation radius under different calculation conditions, the influence of dynamic unloading disturbance on the damaged zone of the surrounding rock is discussed. The radius of the damaged zone increases with the pore water pressure and excavation radius. Considering the effect of dynamic unloading, the calculation result of the damaged zone radius and seepage discharge of underground cavern are much larger than the theoretical calculation and coupling calculation of seepage-damage without dynamic unloading. Research methods and results can provide guidance and reference for similar engineering research.

        Research on the spindle deflecting reliability of the wellbore trajectory control tool based on Palmgren-Miner

        Wellbore trajectory control tool is a sort of point-the-bit drilling tool to achieve the steering function while drilling. In complex conditions, the spindle bears the acting force of the bit pressure, the torque, the force of biasing mechanism and so on. So the force is very complex. Basing on the early research of our group, the further research of spindle deflecting reliability of prototype has been carried out. Based on the contact analysis between the tool spindle and the inner eccentric ring, the variation law of contact stress between the inner ring of the eccentric mechanism and the spindle is studied. Based on Palmgren-Miner and the fatigue life experiment of the spindle material, the cumulative damage calculation model of the spindle is established, and the fatigue life of spindle is solved. The result shows that the deflecting reliability of the spindle can be guaranteed.

        PROMISE: A QR Code PROjection Matrix Based Framework for Information Hiding Using Image SEgmentation

        As data sharing increases explosively, such information encoded in QR code is completely public as private messages are not securely protected. This paper proposes a new 'PROMISE' framework for hiding information based on the QR code projection matrix by using image segmentation without modifying the essential QR code characteristics. Projection matrix mapping, matrix scrambling, fusion image segmentation and steganography with SEL(secret embedding logic) are part of the PROMISE framework. The QR code could be mapped to determine the segmentation site of the fusion image as a binary information matrix. To further protect the site information, matrix scrambling could be adopted after the mapping phase. Image segmentation is then performed on the fusion image and the SEL module is applied to embed the secret message into the fusion image. Matrix transformation and SEL parameters should be uploaded to the server as the secret key for authorized users to decode the private message. And it was possible to further obtain the private message hidden by the framework we proposed. Experimental findings show that when compared to some traditional information hiding methods, better anti-detection performance, greater secret key space and lower complexity could be obtained in our work.
