      • PROGRAMMABLE INDUCTANCE AND CAPACITANCE GENERATOR

        This paper introduces an impedance converter principle of simulated pure inductance and capacitance by using operational amplifiers, in addition, it provides the circuitry configurations according to this principle. The generator can produce equivalent inductance from 0.1H to 6553500H or equivalent capacitance from 10^(-10) F to 65535 × 10^(-7) by programming control. Its circuit is very simple, this generator can be programmed control conveniently and integrated easily. It especially has certain advantages in simulating large inductance or capacitance and programming control.

        Ranks of submatrices in a general solution to a quaternion system with applications

        Assume that X, partitioned into 2×2 block form, is a solution of the system of quaternion matrix equations A_1XB_1=C_1,A_2XB_2=C_2. We in this paper give the maximal and minimal ranks of the submatrices in X, and establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the submatrices to be zero, unique as well as independent. As applications, we consider the common inner inverse G, partitioned into 2×2 block form, of two quaternion matrices M and N. We present the formulas of the maximal and minimal ranks of the submatrices of G, and describe the properties of the submatrices of G as well. The findings of this paper generalize some known results in the literature.

        Surface tension-affected laminar film condensation problems

        Following Nusselt [1] there were few developments in the theory of laminar film condensation until the advent of digital computers in the 1950s. Approximations used by Nusselt, namely neglect of inertia, convection and surface shear stress (for the free convection case) were then found to give very accurate results for the normal practical range of vapour-to-surface temperature difference. Subsequent developments treated the gas phase and dealt with superheated vapour, condensation in the presence of a non-condensing gas and condensation of mixtures. The temperature discontinuity at the vapour-liquid interface has been studied experimentally and theoretically since the 19<SUP>th</SUP> century and more recently in the 1960s by experiments using liquid metals. In the present paper the focus is on the condensate film and, in particular, the role played by surface tension which is important for condensation on finned surfaces and in microchannels, owing to abrupt changes in curvature of the condensing surface. The way in which surface tension affects condensation heat transfer and difficulties which arise are first illustrated by reference to condensation on a smooth horizontal tube, where the effect of surface tension on heat transfer is minimal. Practically more relevant cases of condensation in microchannels and on finned surfaces and are then discussed and recent results presented.

        Separation of arenols from a low-temperature coal tar by liquid-liquid extraction

        Low-temperature coal tar (LTCT) is a sticky liquid mixture produced mainly from coal pyrolysis, which contains various value-added chemicals (VACs). Liquid-liquid extraction is considered as one of the green and effective ways to explore the organic composition and separate the VACs from LTCT. Herein, petroleum ether, methanol, and carbon disulfide were used to extract arenols from a LTCT. As a result, the relative content and absolute content of arenols extracted from the LTCT are ca. 96.3% and 85.9%, respectively. Among them, p-cresol is predominant, accounting for 22.2%. The isolated contents of arenols are up to 84.6%. Moreover, a kilogram-scale operation was carried out under the same conditions, which offers a potential application in industrial production.

        A novel ultrasonic reactor for continuous production of biodiesel from waste acid oil

        FAME was produced by a two-step in-situ transesterification of acid oil (AO) with methanol in a novel continuous flow ultrasonic reactor system composed of four ultrasonic reactors with different frequency. The hydrodynamic behavior of the reactor was investigated by a step response technique, and the effect of ultrasonic frequency on mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids (FAMEs) formation was also investigated. The production process includes an in-situ sulfuric acid-catalyzed esterification of AO with methanol in the first two ultrasonic reactors successively followed by an in-situ base-catalyzed transesterification in the other two ultrasonic reactors. The AO initial free fatty acids (FFA) content about 17.5 w% was cut down to less than 1 w% by sulfuric acid-catalyzed esterification. FAME yields in excess of 97.0% identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) were obtained by the two-step in-situ reaction. The maximum and minimum volumetric productivity could reach 13.76 L·h−1 and 10.24 L·h−1 respectively.

        ACCURACY OF LAMOST DR1 STELLAR PARAMETERS

        We adopt the PASTEL catalog combined with SIMBAD radial velocities as a testing standard to validate the stellar parameters (effective temperature $T_{eff}$, surface gravity log g, metallicity [Fe/H] and radial velocity $V_r$) from the first data release (DR1) of The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) survey. After applying data reduction and temperature constraints to the sample obtained by cross-identification, we compare the stellar parameters from DR1 and PASTEL. The results show that the DR1 results are reliable under certain conditions. We derive a dispersion of 110 K, 0.19 dex, 0.11 dex and $4.91kms^{-1}$ in specified effective temperature ranges, for $T_{eff}$, log g, [Fe/H] and $V_r$ respectively. Systematic errors are negligible except for those of $V_r$. In addition, for stars with PASTEL [Fe/H] < -1:5, the metallicities in DR1 are systematically higher than those in PASTEL.

        尤侗의 「조선죽지사(朝鮮竹枝詞)」에 대하여

        尤侗(1618~1704)은 明末淸初의 명망 높은 詩人으로 청나라 최고의 지식인들인 朱彛尊, 王士禎등과 교분이 깊었으며 翰林院侍講으로 존경받던 인물이다. 그가 지은『外國竹枝詞』 100수는 동아시아는 물론, 유럽, 남미에 이르기까지 전 세계를 아우르는 작품으로 그 첫머리에 「朝鮮竹枝詞」를 읊고 있다. 우통은 문학과 예악을 모두 갖춘 문명국으로, 동문으로서의 조선을 노래하였다. 그는 허난설헌의 상량문을 모의하여 「廣寒宮白玉樓上梁文」을 지었을 뿐만 아니라, 현재 실전되어 전하지 않는 『朝鮮採風錄』의 여러 작품을 자신의 문집인 『艮齋雜說』에 실어 전해 내려오게 함으로써 조선문학을 널리 중국에 알린 인물이기도 하다. 「朝鮮竹枝詞」는 후대 徐振과 柏?등이 『조선죽지사』를 짓는 데 있어 전범을 마련하였을 뿐만 아니라 조선 문인들에게도 외국죽지사 창작에 적지 않은 영향을 끼쳤다. 「朝鮮竹枝詞」에는 王士禎과 毛奇齡등의 書尾評도 함께 고찰할 수 있어 당대 청대 지식인들이 조선에 대한 동문 의식을 살필 수 있는 중요한 자료가 될수 있다. YouTong(1618~1704) was a renowned poet during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. He had a deep friendship with ZhuYiZun and WangShiZhen who were leading intellectuals at that period. YouTong authored one hundred songs in Foreign Jukjisa(Foreign folk songs) which encompassed Europe and South America as well as East asia. He placed Joseonjukjisa at the beginning of this anthology. YouTong praised Joseon as one of the civilized countries with their own literatures and ritual musics. He authored Gwanghangung Baegongnu sangnyangmun, imitating Heonanseolheon's Sangnyangmun. In addition, he contributed enormously to make Joseon literature come to Chinese people''s knowledge by including Joseonchaepungnok in his Geunjaejapseol. The original Geunjaejapseol had disappeared in Joseon. YouTong''s Joseonjukjisa was a classic model for XuZhen and BaiJun''s Joseonjukjisa and had a significant effect on Joseon literati. The book-end commentaries by WangShiZhen and MaoQiLing are the precious references for our study of the Qing intellectuals''consciousness that they share same literary background with Joseon intellectuals.

        Interaction and micellar behavior of ternary mixture of amphoteric amino sulfonate surfactant with traditional anionic and nonionic surfactants: Effect of hydrophilicity

        The micellization and the molecular interaction behaviors for two ternary mixtures constituted by anamphoteric sodium 3-(n-dodecyl ethylenediamino)-2-hydroxypropyl sulfonate (C12AS), an anionicsodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) and a nonionic octylphenol polyoxyethylated ether with thenumber (n) of oxyethylene glycol ethers OP-n (n = 10 or 7) in aqueous solution were investigated usingthe tensiometry and the effect of hydrophilicity on them was also discussed. In the framework of pseudophaseseparation model and based on the regular solution theory, the related micellization parametersincluding the mixed critical micelle concentration (cmc) values in the ideal and real cases, the activitycoefficients and the compositions in mixed micelle, etc. and thermodynamic parameters were estimatedby the Clint’s model and the Rubingh’ model. The mixed cmc value is dependent on the composition inaqueous solution and influenced by the hydrophilicity of nonionic surfactant. With increasing the nonionicin ternary mixture, the mixed cmc value is initially decreased and then slightly rise. An increasingin the hydrophilicity of nonionic will make the minimum value of mixed cmc be increased from1.299 mM to 1.705 mM. The resulting phenomena can be explained reasonably by the electrostatic effect,the steric hindrance, the hydrogen bonding, etc. Thermodynamic data indicate that the contribution ofentropy or enthalpy plays a vital role on the spontaneous process of micellization and the share ofentropy or enthalpy in free energy change is dependent largely on the amount of nonionic surfactantand the hydrophilicity. In ternary mixtures of C12AS/SDBS/OP-10, an increase in an amount of OP-10 willinduce the change from the enthalpy-driven micellization process to the entropically favorable process. Once an abundant amount of OP-7 is added, while, the enthalpy will make a main contribution on themicellization process, which can be described by the drop in the share of entropy at the composition(0.6970/0.0000/0.3030) of ternary mixture from 0.6478 to 0.4901. These findings will help with understandingthe molecular interaction behavior for the ternary surfactant mixture and the effect of the additionof nonionic surfactant and its hydrophilicity.
