3.5% NaCl 水溶液中의 自由腐蝕條件下에서 SS41鋼과 複合組織鋼에 대한 回轉굽힘 腐蝕疲勞試驗을 행하여, 溫度影響이 腐蝕疲勞强度 및 腐蝕疲勞크랙 進展速度에 미치는 影響을 考察하였다. 溫度가 增加할수록, 腐蝕疲勞壽命은 減少하였으며 腐蝕疲勞크랙 進展速度는 加速化되었다. 303°K와 318°K의 溫度領域에서 S-N曲線과 腐蝕疲勞크랙 進展速度가 거의 一致하는 것은 陽極溶解의 制限때문이다.

Formulation Prediction for Young's Modulus of Poly(dimethylsiloxane) by Spectroscopic Methods

In this work, we refer to the fraction of hydrides and vinyl groups consumed in cross-linking reaction as a variation of the properties of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) with varying the formulation of a curing agent from 3.2 wt % to 50 wt %. Young’s modulus, density, and refractive indices of PDMS were observed to have a maxima at a formulation of about 10 wt % of cross linker. The intensity of the Raman band for the Si H stretching mode in cross-linker is almost zero if the cross-linking agent is less than 10 wt %, but it is linearly increasing with increasing the content of cross-linker. The dependence of the elastic modulus on the formulation could be explained in terms of the fraction of cross-linked network. The analytical framework proposed in this work could be used for optimizing the formulation of PDMS and hence its properties can be tailored for specific applications.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mother's neuroticism, perfectionism and psychological control on children's internalized problem behaviors such as depression, anxiety, and withdrawal. The subjects of this study were 373 mothers of 3, 4, and 5-years-old children who were attending to 7 public kindergartens and 1 private kindergartens located in Cheongju city. The results of this study were as follows: First, it indicated that mother's neuroticism, self-oriented perfectionism, criticism, and unstable emotion had statistically significant effects on young children's depression. That is, the more neuroticism, the less self-oriented perfectionism, and the more psychological control like criticism and unstable emotion mothers showed, the higher young children's depression was. Second, it revealed that mother's neuroticism and criticism and love withdrawal had statistically significant effects on young children's anxiety. That is, children of mothers with more neuroticism and psychological control like criticism and love withdrawal showed higher anxiety. Third, it was found that only mother's neuroticism had a statistically significant effect on young children's withdrawal. That is, the more neuroticism mothers showed, the higher young children's withdrawal was.

Direct effectiveness of pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine against invasive pneumococcal disease and non-bacteremic pneumococcal pneumonia in elderly population in the era of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine: A case-control study

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>While herd effects and serotype replacement by childhood pneumococcal protein conjugated vaccines (PCVs) continues to accumulate worldwide, direct effectiveness of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV23) against pneumococcal diseases in the elderly has been challenged. We estimated the direct effectiveness of PPV23 in the elderly population.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>For a hospital-based case-control study, cases of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and non-bacteremic pneumococcal pneumonia (NBPP) (adults ≥ 65 years) were identified in 14 hospitals participated in the pneumococcal surveillance program from March 2013 to October 2015, following implementation of PPV23 national immunization program (NIP) for the elderly in the Republic of Korea. Controls matched by age, sex, and hospital were selected at ratios of 1:2 (IPD) or 1:1 (NBPP). Clinical data and vaccination records were collected. Vaccine effectiveness was calculated as (1-adjusted odds ratio) × 100.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>We enrolled 148 IPD and 557 NBPP cases, and 295 IPD and 557 NBPP controls for analyses. Overall effectiveness of PPV23 against IPD was 28.5% [95% confidence interval (CI) −5.8%–51.6%] and against NBPP was 10.2% (-15.1-30.6) in all patients ≥ 65 years. However, in subgroup analysis of patients aged 65–74 years, PPV23 was protective against IPD [effectiveness 57.4% (19.4–77.5)] and against NBPP [effectiveness 35.0% (2.3–56.7)]. Furthermore, serotype-specific effectiveness of PPV23 against IPD was 90.6% (27.6–98.8) for PPV23-unique serotypes and 81.3% (38.6–94.3) for PPV23 serotypes excluding serotype 3.</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>This study indicates that PPV23 with broad serotype coverage might be beneficial in preventing IPD and NBPP due to non-PCV13 serotypes in the young-elderly, with potentially increasing effectiveness in the setting of childhood PCV NIP.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> National immunization program for PPV23 for the elderly was implemented in Korea. </LI> <LI> PPV23 was effective against IPD and NBPP for young elderly patients aged 65–74. </LI> <LI> Effectiveness of PPV23 against IPD was higher for PPV23 unique serotypes. </LI> <LI> PPV23 was non-protective against IPD caused by PCV13 serotypes. </LI> </UL> </P>

A 11-year-old Yorkshire terrier anesthetized for computed tomography. The dog showed cyanosis and syncope during postanesthetic recovery, therefore drug administrated parenterally. Goose-honking was noticed after full recovery. As a result of survey radiography and fluoroscopy, grade 4 tracheal collapse was diagnosed. Prescription for the dog was oral administration of hydrocodone 0.22 mg/kg. theophylline 20 mg/kg, prednisone 0.5 mg/kg, amoxicillin 22 mg/kg and chlorpheniramine 2 mg/kg twice a day for 3 days. A 10-year-old Pomeranian was diagnosed as grade 2 traceal collapse at the local animal hospital 2 years before being referred to the veterinary teaching hospital of Chungnam National University. On physical examination, goose-honking, coughing and intermittent open-mouth breathing. Tracheal narrowing was observed on survey einradiography and fluoroscopy. Oral administration of theophylline 13 mg/kg, enrofloxacin 5 mg/kg, chlropheniramine 0.5 mg/kg twice a day was prescribed for 2 weeks.

Abstract - There are various methods to join mechanical structures together. They typically include welding, mechanical joints by bolts and other processes depending on specific needs. Analyses of joints in the mechanical structures are essential in understanding the dynamic characteristics of the structures. In this research an impulse technique is applies to investigate the dynamic behavior of joints produced by bolts. The length of overlap in the joints was varied as the number of the bolts in the joints was changed. Also, the torque applied to the bolts were adjusted. Resonance frequencies were determined for the joints to evaluate the relationship between the increase in the applied torque and the increase in the number of bolts used in the joints. The results have demonstrated that the resonance frequencies of the joints increase with the increasing torque.

동유럽에 있어서 한국문학 수용과 한국문학교육 : 체코 공화국을 중심으로 In the Case of Czech Republic

The first mentioning of Korea in Czech records was in 1847. The introduction of Korean literature in the Czech Republic since late 19th century could be divided into three periods. The first period is from when Korea first came to notice in the Czech Republic, until the department of Koreanology was established at Charles University in 1950. The second one is from 1950 to 1990 when Korea and the Czech Republic entered into diplomatic relations with each other. And the last one is from then until now. During the first period, there were three groups of people who introduced korean culture and literature to the Czech Republic. The first group consisted of travellers who visited Korea, whether accidentally or intentionally. The second group consisted of the Czech legionnaires, stationed in far east Vladivostok, who got in contact with K o m refugees bading a wandering life. The last group consisted of Korean intellectuals and students who left their country during the late years of Japanese colonial period. The first group introduced the existence of Korea to the Czech Republic, although their introduction was distorted by the colonialist s imperialistic view. The second group spoke against Korea s circumstances under Japanese colonial rule and introduced Korean oral literature to Czech for the first time. The third group sowed the seed of Koreanology by influencing Czech intellectuals and translated Korean written literature into Czech. During this period, the introduction of Korean literature in the Czech Republic was limited in Korean traditional children's story(fairy tale) or oral literature through Russia. It means the interchange between Korea and Czech was staying on a spontaneous generation level during that period. The motivation of translating literary works was nothing more than an exoticism or satisfaction of curiosity about foreign country. In the second period, the department of Koreanology was established at Charles University and the one-sided diplomatic relation between North Korea and Czech Republic was established. The introduction of Korean literature during this period was inevitably affected by these two fact either directly or indirectly. During this period, Koreanologists centering around the Department of Koreanology at Charles university took the role of introducing Korean literature. Affected by leftist Korean intellectual refugees, and the international situation in those days such as the one-sided diplomatic relation with North Korea, and Czech domestic circumstances that the Czech Republic itself was one of the communist countries, the early Koreanologists' introduction of Korean literature took the Marxist route, or North Korea friendly route. In case of Korean traditional literary works were rather free to introduce, while in case of korean modern literary works, none of the South Korean writers works were translated And even the works written before the liberation of Korea(written before the partition of the Korean peninsula) were excluded from introduction if it wasn t evaluated in North Korea or if it didn t belong to proletarian literature. In this period when the Korean War broke out, the Czech writers wrote many poems to cheer and encourage the North Korea. Milan Kundera, the world famous writer, was not an exception. These works were also contributed to introduce Korean culture to Czech in some degree, when it comes to materials. But as a matter of fact they retrocedes the history of cultural interchange by distorting and criticizing the reality of South Korea. The other distinctive feature of this period is an formation of a new class of readers. They were different from previous readers who read Korean oral tradition literary works to satisfy exoticism or curiosity about foreign country. This new class of readers, who were well acquainted with Korean literature and interested in pure literature, aimed to study it. As new class of readers appeared, Korean literature were translated and introduced for their need. The important feature in third period was so called 'Velvet Revolution' was arisen and the liberal democratic government was established. As South Korea and the Czech Republic entered into the diplomatic relation, Czech opened the era of equal distance diplomatic relation with South and North Korea. As a result, this period had various features that were distinctive from previous ones. First, translation of literary works became free no matter what ideology they belonged to. Second, commercial publishing of the translated works of Korean literature became possible. Third, the quality and quantity of translation improved distinctively. Forth, Intellectual society of Czech positively evaluate the Korean literature by degrees. Fifth, The interest in Korean literature is spread from limited professional readers, the previous period readers, to general readers by degrees and so on. In spite of these positive waves of change in Czech, there still are things should be improved to accept Korean literature more actively and properly, like producing excellent translators, support in department of Koreanology at Charles University, interchange between Korean and Czech intellectuals, and encouraging exportation of material art-such as music, art, films and multi media art.

「創造」의 語文學的 硏究 (II) : 先驅者로서의 理念과 文學的 理實

In spite of the prevalent view, "Boollori", one of Chang-Jo's famous poems, is not the first work of modern poetry in Korea. Moreover it is not so much a free verse as a prose poem. Therefore it is important to recognize that the literary value of "Boollori does not lie in its chronological place in modern Korean literary history but in the fact that it represents the poet Chang-Jo himself, One of the consistent features of his literature is folk poetry which, I believe, was influenced by Walt Whitman, an American modern poet. Whitman's influence on Chang-Jo was reflected not only in his folk poetry but also in his theory of national poetry. He agreed with Whitman in the belief that common people were the protagnists in realizing the "high ideal" of democracy. However Chang-Jo became aware that, under Japanese colonial rule, this ideal was impossible to attain. He escaped from the social situation and had to take refuge in folk life and traditional culture. Against this background, poet Chang-Jo is looms lage as a representative romantic in 1920s in Korea. His literary work needs to be studied in this perspective."

단기간 크레아틴 섭취가 태권도 선수의 신체조성, 등속성 근력 및 혈액성분에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of short-term creatine intake on constitution, isokinetic muscular power and constituent parts of the blood among taekwondo players. After 14 taekwondo players were divided into two groups, one group took creatine for six days and the other took placebo for the same short period of time. This experiment was conducted during training period, and then their constitution, isokinetic muscular power, blood creatinine and inorganic phosphate were measured. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. As for constitution, there was no significant disparity in weight, the amount of muscle, body fat volume and body fat rate between the creatine group and the placebo group. 2. Concerning isokinetic muscular power, the creatine group made a significant progress in set total work(J) and endurance rate(%) after the two groups were engaged in maximal flexion/extension exercise(180˚/s) 30 times. 3. When the constituent parts of the blood was gauged, the creatine group showed a significant increase in creatinine at rest and 30 minutes after recovery(p<.05), and the placebo group showed a significant reduction in creatinine at rest and immediately after workout(p<.05). In the former group, there was no change in inorganic phosphate, but the placebo group showed a significant increase at rest, immediately after workout and 30 minutes after recovery(p<.05). The above-mentioned findings suggested that the six-day creatine intake had an effect on the muscular power of the taekwondo players and their constituent parts of the blood, but it gave no positive impact on their physical constitution. Therefore, short-term creatine intake seemed to contribute to enhancing motor skills.
