        회재 박광옥의 의병활동과 추숭

        임진왜란 초기 호남의병의 창의를 주도했던 인물은 고경명과 김천일이 대표적이다. 고경명은 광주출신으로 담양에서 거의하였으며 호남 최대 규모인 6,000여명의 의병을 이끌었다. 김천일은 나주출신으로 호남의병 중 가장 빠른 시점에 의병을 일으켰다는 점에서 주목되었다. 두 의병장에 대한 생애와 의병활동에 대해서는 기존연구에서 이미 검토된 바 있다. 하지만, 그들과 함께 호남의병 창의를 가능케 했던 박광옥(朴光玉, 1526∼1593)에 대해서는 상대적으로 알려진 바가 없다. 물론 박광옥은 임진왜란 당시에 이미 고령이었기 때문에 실제 전투에 참여하지 못했으며, 1593년이라는 이른 시점에 사망하였기 때문에 그의 활약상이나 관련 기록이 충분치 못한 점은 인정된다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 전쟁 초 호남의병의 성군(成軍) 과정 및 후방에서 끊임없이 지원했던 박광옥의 활동을 살피는 것은 충분한 의미가 있다고 생각한다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 박광옥의 의병활동 및 그와 함께 활동했던 주변 인물들을 검토하였다. 또한 박광옥 사후에 진행된 지역 사림들과 후손들의 추숭활동을 살펴 조선후기 호남 지역의 사회 분위기 이해에 도움을 주고자 했다. 싸우다가 죽은 유명한 의병장들 뿐만 아니라, 그들을 지원하는 데에 전력을 다 했던 박광옥을 통해 호남의병에 대한 이해의 폭이 조금 더 넓혀졌으면 한다. The key figures who took the lead in raising righteous army in Honam(湖南) during the early days of the Imjin War were Go Gyeong-myeong(高敬命) and Kim Cheon-il(金千鎰). Go, hailing from Gwangju, raised righteous army in Damyang and led the region's largest 6,000-strong army. Kim, who came from Naju, raised righteous army, the earliest such instance in the region. The two leaders' lives and their role in the righteous army have been discussed in previous studies. However, little is known about Park Gwang-ok(朴光玉 1526-1593) who, along with Go and Kim, made it possible to raise righteous army in Honam. Of course, Park could not participate in the actual action as he was too old when the Japanese invasion occurred. As he died in the early years of the war, in 1593, historical records of his leadership remain meager. Nonetheless, it should be significant to scrutinize the formation of the righteous army in the early days of the war and Park Gwang-ok's endless support on the home front. Thus, this paper has reviewed Park's righteous army activities and those of the people who worked with him. The study further aims to help understand the social ambience in Honam in the late Joseon Dynasty period by researching the worship of Park by the region's Confucian scholars and his descendants after his death. In addition to our understanding of famous righteous army leaders who fought to their death, revisiting the life of Park Gwang-ok who went all out to support them should deepen our understanding of the righteous army that rose in Honam.

        Effects of Cross-Linking and Spacer Groups on beta-Cyclodextrin Bonded Liquid Chromatographic Separation

        Mesoporous glass beads and 5 mm silica particles were modified with beta-cyclodextrin ( b-CD) by means of directly bonding, linking spacer group, and cross-linking agent. The selectivities of the b-CD modified silica particles were measured by simple column chromatography to separate a model mixture of 1- and 2-hydroxy-naphthalene (naphthols) and ortho, meta, and para-xylene. In the packed column chromatography experiments, two major controlling factors (inclusion complex formation effect and steric hindrance effect of the analytes) on the separations were observed. The elusion orders of the b-CD directly bonded glass beads were meta-, para-, ortho-xylene and 1-naphthol, 2-naphthol. The phenomena of b-CD pore blocking and narrowing by spacer groups and cross-linking agent were observed. The spacer group and cross-linking agent decreased inclusion complex formation of 2-naphthol.

        The Ramp-Rate Constraint Effects on the Generators' Equilibrium Strategy in Electricity Markets

        In this paper, we investigate how generators' ramp-rate constraints may influence their equilibrium strategy formulation. In the market model proposed in this study, the generators' ramp-rate constraints are explicitly represented. In order to fully characterize the inter-temporal nature of the ramp-rate constraints, a dynamic game model is presented. The subgame perfect Nash equilibrium is adopted as the solution of the game and the backward induction procedure for the solution of the game is designed in this paper. The inter-temporal nature of the ramp-rate constraints results in the Markov property of the game, and we have found that the Markov property of the game significantly simplifies the subgame perfect Nash equilibrium characterization. Finally, a simple electricity market numerical illustration is presented for the successful application of the approach proposed.

        A Linearized Transmission Model Based Market Equilibrium In Locational Pricing Environments

        In this paper, we have investigated how transmission network constraints can be modeled in an electricity market equilibrium model. Under Cournot competition assumption, a game model is set up considering transmission line capacity constraints. Based on locational marginal pricing principle, market clearing is formulated as a total consumers' benefit maximization problem, and then converted to a conventional optimal power flow (OPF) formulation with a linearized transmission model. Using market clearing formulation, best response analysis is formulated and, finally, Nash equilibrium is formulated. In order for illustration, a numerical study for a four node system with two generating firms and two loads are presented.

      • A Low-Cost and Low-Power Time-to-Digital Converter Using Triple-Slope Time Stretching

        <P>In this brief, we present a time-to-digital converter (TDC) in which a single interpolator is used to improve the resolution by time stretching. The interpolator is based on a triple-slope conversion. Without slowing down the measured event, this approach extensively reduces the chip area and the corresponding power consumption, as compared with the prior arts with two parallel time interpolators. A prototype was designed and fabricated in a 0.35- μm CMOS digital process, and its core area merely occupies 0.126 mm<SUP>2</SUP>. Measurements show that our TDC achieves a resolution of 357 ps while consuming 1.22 mW with a 2.5-V supply. The dynamic range of the TDC exceeds 1.46 μs. The measurement rate can achieve above 400 kS/s.</P>

        20세기 초기에, 양자 역학은 물리학, 생물학, 철학은 물론이고 최근에는 경제학이나 사회학에도 적용되어 가고 있고, 의학 분야에 영향을 주었으며, 이를 대체의학의 이론적 배경으로도 발전되고 있다. 양자 의학은 양자 역학, 양자 물리학의 이론을 적용하고 인체의 생명 현상의 연구 방법을 제시하는 하나의 과학이다. 1990년대, 양자전자기학을 배경으로 만들어진 Quantum Resonance Analysis는 양자 의학의 시작이다. 양자 의학의 기본 이론은 파동 역학과 물의 마이크로 구조를 포함한다. 전송, 저장 및 유기신체 정보의 유기적인 신체 특성은 질병 진단 및 치료의 기초이다. 양자 치료는 질병의 근본 원인과, 유기적인 신체와 정보 저장의 다른 전자기 파장을 변경함으로써 증상을 치료하는 것이다. 대체 의학이론의 대부분은 근본적인 질문은 양자 이론에 의해 해결된다. 극미세 자기장 측정 장비 등 양자역학의 이론을 배경으로 개발된 진단 및 치료 장비들은 대체 의학에 대한 신뢰를 향상시키고 대체 의학 및 현대 의학 사이의 연결 고리를 구축할 수 있다. In the beginning of twenty century, quantum mechanics affect not only Physics, Biology, and Philosophy but also Economics and Sociology. It is also applied to medical field and influenced the theoretical background of the alternative medicine. Quantum medicine is the science of the one way to study the phenomena of human life with the theory of quantum mechanics and quantum physics. The basic theory of quantum medicine includes wave mechanics and water micro-structure. Quantum medicine is one science to apply theory of quantum physics and to conduct research method of life phenomenon of human body. Disease diagnosis and treatment is the basis of the physical characteristics of information transmission, storage, and organic body characteristics. The treatment by Quantum medicine is to cure fundamental causes and symptoms to change different electromagnetic waves of organic body and information storage. To replace the most of the fundamental question of alternative medicine theory, the quantum theory and analysis can be used. The usage of the diagnostic and therapeutic equipment that developed by the theory of quantum mechanics improve the confidence in the treatment result by the alternative medicine.

        In this study, passive type Metal Foam partial DPF characteristics was investigated. 70% target efficiency filter designed by Metal Foam Filter design program, was installed on D6DB(6.6L) engine exhaust line and PM removal efficiency & gas conversion rate by ND-13 mode was evaluated. The Filter has around 70% PM removal efficiency on whole soot loading level. When 7g/L soot loaded on the filter, the differential pressure is 280mbar on ND-13mode 10step air flow. But repeated ND-13mode test, there is no pressure drop gain.

        LDPC 부호를 위한 행 분할 알고리즘

        실용적은 통신 시스템은 고정된 한 부호화율이 아닌 다양한 부호화율에서 동작을 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 다양한 부호화율을 위한 LDPC(Low-Density Parity-Check) 부호를 분석했다. 한 특정한 모부호에서 행을 분할하여 LDPC 부호가 서로 다른 부호화율에서도 동작하도록 하는데 이 기술의 장점은 부호화율이 변하더라도 LDPC 부호의 블록 길이가 항상 일정하게 유지됨으로써 천공(Puncturing) 이나 쇼트닝(Shortening) 기법처럼 블록 길이가 줄어드는 단점을 보완한다는 것이다. 행 분할(Row-splitting) 기법이라 명명한 이 기술은 말 그대로 H 행렬의 행을 분할하여 부호화율을 낮추기 때문에 비슷한 행 합산(Row-combining) 기법의 단점 또한 보완할 수 있다. Practical communication systems need to operate at various different rates. This paper describes and analyzes low-density parity check codes for various different rates. From a specific mother code, it allows LDPC codes for different rate. The advantage of this technique is that each different rate LDPC codes have a same block length as mother code though the rate changes so it can make up for the weak points of puncturing and shortening which reduce their block length as the rate changes. Row-splitting method is to split the row, so that the rate changes from a higher rate to lower rate and cause of its own property, it can overcome the defect of row-combining method.

      • Spectroscopic identification of jet-cooled <i>o</i>-ethynylbenzyl radical generated in corona discharge

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The vibronically excited but jet-cooled <I>o</I>-ethynylbenzyl radical was generated from precursor, <I>o</I>-ethynyltoluene seeded in a large amount of carrier gas helium using a home-made pinhole-type glass nozzle combined with the technique of corona excited supersonic expansion. The visible vibronic emission spectrum was recorded with a long-path monochromator from the corona discharge of the precursor.
