This study examines the insulation coating technology of Fe–Si–Cr powder via selective oxidation annealing, which oxidizeselements selectively by controlling the oxidation potential. The study calculated the oxidation driving force of Fe, Si, andCr, and conducted a thermodynamic analysis of oxidation and reduction conditions according to temperature and oxidationpotential. Based on the results, a selective oxidation annealing was performed in an atmosphere in which Fe is reduced andonly Si and Cr are selectively oxidized. The oxidation potential was controlled through the partial pressure ratio of hydrogenand water vapor. The XPS analysis results confirmed that a Si and Cr complex oxide layer formed on the powder surfaceafter the selective oxidation annealing. Afterward, withstanding voltages were analyzed to evaluate the insulation property. Then, the withstanding voltage of the powder applying the selective oxidation annealing increased significantly comparedto that of the initial powder. Further analysis showed that the powder annealed in an air atmosphere had a significantly lowersaturation magnetic flux density than the initial powder, while the powder applying the selective oxidation annealing hadonly a slightly reduced saturation magnetic flux density.

<P>A 2-year-old Pekinese dog was diagnosed with hepatic yersiniosis. Grossly, white-to-yellow nodules consisting of degenerated inflammatory cells, cell debris, and bacterial clumps were scattered throughout the liver. Histopathologically, suppurative and necrotizing hepatitis was apparent. Yersinia enterocolitica biotype 4, serotype O3 (4:O3) was identified and confirmed in the liver immunohistochemically, using a monoclonal antibody. The virulence genes ystA and ail were detected, but the isolate was negative for autoagglutination and calcium-dependent growth. To confirm systemic yersiniosis in animals, it is imperative that the organism(s) be identified because the hepatic lesions are similar to those of Y. pseudotuberculosis and other diseases, including plague, which is also a zoonotic pathogen.</P>

Fabry disease, angiokeratoma corporis diffusum, is a rare X-linked inborn error of glycosphingolipid metabolism due to the lack of the lysosomal enzyme, α-galactosidase A, resulting in a progressive deposition of specific neutral glycosphingolipids within the lysosomes of endothelial and smooth muscle cells of the cardiovascular and renal systems predominantly. We reported a case of Fabry disease, following renal biopsy for the investigation of proteinuria(Creatinine clearance 87.28 mL/min/1.73, serum creatinine 1.1 mg/dL, 24-hour urine protein 1,125 mg, 24-hour urine creatinine 1,382 mg). The patient was 46 year old male. He had experienced anterior chest pain regarded as angina pectoris for a few years. A 12- lead electrocardiogram was abnormal(T-wave inversion in II, III, AVF, and V3-V6), but echocardiography and coronary angiography revealed no abnormal. Kidney biopsy findings showed lamella inclusion bodies on electron microscopy, which are typical finding of Fabry disease. The patient is followed at O.P.D without any significant complaints for 18 months after diagnosis of Fabry disease.

The crystal structure of monoethanolamine hydrochloride is triclinic P1 with two formula units in a cell of dimensions a = $4.42\pm0.02$, b = $7.44\pm0.02$, c = $7.48\pm0.02$, $\alpha$ = $102.4\pm0.3$, $\beta$ = $91.1\pm0.3$, $\gamma$ = $77.2\pm0.3^{\circ}.$ The configuration of monoethanolamine is a gauche form with dihedral angle, $90^{\circ}$. The nitrogen atom forms four hydrogen bonds, three to Cl- ions(3.15, 3.24, $3.28\AA)$ and one to a hydroxyl group of another molecule (N${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$O, $2.90{\AA})$. The oxygen also forms two such bonds, one to a Cl- ion $(3.14\AA)$, one to an amine group of another molecule (O${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$N, $2.90{\AA}).$ Molecules are linked into two-dimensional network by hydrogen bonds.

In vitro and in vivo antibacterial activities of DWQ-013(1-cyclopropyl-6,8-difluoro-7-(3-methylthiomethylpyrrolidinyl)-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid), a new fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent, were compared with those of ciprofloxacin, sparfloxacin and ofloxacin against aerobic and anaerobic standard strains and clinical isolates. DWQ-013 had a broad spectrum and potent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The antibacterial activity of DWQ-013 against Staphylococcus aureus was equal to that of sparfloxacin(SPFX) and superior to those of ciprofloxacin(CPFX). The antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria was slightly lower than those of ciprofloxacin and sparfloxacin. MIC of DWQ-013 against Pseudomonas aeruginosa(0.781- 1.563mcg/ml) was usually equal to that of sparfloxacin(O.781mcg/ml) and was inferior to that of ciprofloxacin(O.098mcg/ml). The number of viable cells was decreased rapidly after addition of DWQ-013 at concentration of 1-2 folds of MIC.

<P><p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Since the late 1990s, the meteorological observatory established in Anmyeondo (36.5382°<span class='thinspace'></span>N, 126.3311°<span class='thinspace'></span>E, and 30<span class='thinspace'></span>m above mean sea level) has been monitoring several greenhouse gases such as CO<sub>2</sub>, CH<sub>4</sub>, N<sub>2</sub>O, CFCs, and SF<sub>6</sub> as a part of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Program. A high resolution ground-based (g-b) Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) was installed at this observation site in 2013 and has been operated within the frame work of the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) since August 2014. The solar spectra recorded by the g-b FTS cover the spectral range 3800 to 16<span class='thinspace'></span>000<span class='thinspace'></span>cm<sup>−1</sup> at a resolution of 0.02<span class='thinspace'></span>cm<sup>−1</sup>. In this work, the GGG2014 version of the TCCON standard retrieval algorithm was used to retrieve total column average CO<sub>2</sub> and CH<sub>4</sub> dry mole fractions (XCO<sub>2</sub>, XCH<sub>4</sub>) and from the FTS spectra. Spectral bands of CO<sub>2</sub> (at 6220.0 and 6339.5<span class='thinspace'></span>cm<sup>−1</sup> center wavenumbers, CH<sub>4</sub> at 6002<span class='thinspace'></span>cm<sup>−1</sup> wavenumber, and O<sub>2</sub> near 7880<span class='thinspace'></span>cm<sup>−1</sup> ) were used to derive the XCO<sub>2</sub> and XCH<sub>4</sub>. In this paper, we provide comparisons of XCO<sub>2</sub> and XCH<sub>4</sub> between the aircraft observations and g-b FTS over Anmyeondo station. A comparison of 13 coincident observations of XCO<sub>2</sub> between g-b FTS and OCO-2 (Orbiting Carbon Observatory) satellite measurements are also presented for the measurement period between February 2014 and November 2017. OCO-2 observations are highly correlated with the g-b FTS measurements (<i>r</i><sup>2</sup> = 0.884) and exhibited a small positive bias (0.189<span class='thinspace'></span>ppm). Both data set capture seasonal variations of the target species with maximum and minimum values in spring and late summer, respectively. In the future, it is planned to further utilize the FTS measurements for the evaluation of satellite observations such as Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite (GOSAT, GOSAT-2). This is the first report of the g-b FTS observations of XCO<sub>2</sub> species over the Anmyeondo station.</p> </P>

Cytochrome P450 (cyp) is an important enzyme that can act on xenobiotic substances such as toxic chemicals or drugs. Phenobarbital(PB) has been widely used to induce CYP2B activity to investigate the drug-drug interaction of CTP2B substrate drugs.leelamine is a diterpene compound, and is the current focus of efforts to develop a treatment for diabetes. In this study. we identi-fied the selective and potent inductive effct of leelamine on CYP2B antdoes of 5,10,or 20 mg/kg in male ICR micc for I or 3 days. In liver, the activity of CYP2B significantly increased 3.6-fold after treatment with leelamine,com-pared to vehicle-treated group. Activities of benzyloxy-resorufin O-dealkylase and pentoxyresorufin O-dealkylase significantly increased 6.3-and 5.3-fold, respectively,with a single treatment of 20 mg/kg leelamine for I day. Fur-thermore. immunoblot analysis showed that signifieantly and dose-dependently increased CYP2B10 protein levels in liver.However,PCR results showed that there were no significant changes in the CAR and CYP2B mRNA levels after leelamine treatment. Accordingly, we suggest that leelamine is a novel substitute of PB for the seleetive inudction of CYP2B activity in vivo.

<P>The aim of this preliminary study is to investigate the changes in phase synchronization in the theta and alpha bands before and during the performance of classical acupuncture on the Sinmun (HT7). The electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from nine healthy young subjects were recorded before and during acupuncture in the “closed-eye” state. The EEG signals were acquired from 19 surface scalp electrodes (FP1, FP2, F7, F3, Fz F4, F8, T3, C3, Cz, C4, T4, T5, P3, Pz, P4, T6, O1, and O2). Needles were inserted into the HT7 bilaterally and were then manipulated to induce<I> deqi</I> and retained for 15 minutes. Phase synchronization was measured by phase coherence. In the theta band, coherence significantly increased between the temporal (T5, T6) and occipital areas (O1, O2) during the acupuncture stimulation. In the alpha band, coherence significantly increased between the left temporal area (T5) and other areas (frontal, parietal, and occipital). Phase coherence in the theta and alpha bands tended to increase during the retention of the acupuncture needles after<I> deqi</I>. Therefore, it can be concluded that acupuncture stimulation with<I> deqi</I> is clinically effective via the central nervous system (CNS).</P>
