<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Several mammals, including dogs, have been successfully cloned using somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), but the efficiency of generating normal, live offspring is relatively low. Although the high failure rate has been attributed to incomplete reprogramming of the somatic nuclei during the cloning process, the exact cause is not fully known. To elucidate the cause of death in cloned offspring, 12 deceased offspring cloned by SCNT were necropsied. The clones were either stillborn just prior to delivery or died with dyspnea shortly after birth. On gross examination, defects in the anterior abdominal wall and increased heart and liver sizes were found. Notably, a significant increase in muscle mass and macroglossia lesions were observed in deceased SCNT‐cloned dogs. Interestingly, the expression of myostatin, a negative regulator of muscle growth during embryogenesis, was down‐regulated at the mRNA level in tongues and skeletal muscles of SCNT‐cloned dogs compared with a normal dog. Results of the present study suggest that decreased expression of myostatin in SCNT‐cloned dogs may be involved in morphological abnormalities such as increased muscle mass and macroglossia, which may contribute to impaired fetal development and poor survival rates. LXRα Enhances Lipid Synthesis in SZ95 Sebocytes

Differentiation of sebocytes is strongly associated with enhanced lipid synthesis and accumulation in the cells. Liver X receptors (LXRs) are members of the nuclear receptor superfamily, which play a critical role in cholesterol homeostasis and lipid metabolism. We examined whether LXRα regulated lipid synthesis in the immortalized human sebaceous gland cell line SZ95. When the SZ95 sebocytes were treated with the ligand of LXR such as TO901317 or 22(R)-hydroxycholesterol, lipid droplets were accumulated in the majority of cells when examined by Oil Red O staining. The expression of the known LXR targets, such as fatty acid synthase and sterol regulatory-binding protein-1, was induced by TO901317. TO901317 treatment increased expression of LXRα but not that of LXRβ. Transfection of antisense LXRα significantly decreased TO901317-induced target gene expression and lipid droplet accumulation, suggesting a major role of LXRα in differentiation of sebocytes. Further, TO901317 decreased the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase that was induced by lipopolysaccharide treatment. Together, these results indicate that important roles of LXRα in differentiation and inflammatory signaling in sebaceous glands. Steroid-Responsive Cerebral Vasculitis in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus with Sulcal Hyperintensities

The clinical manifestations of cerebral lupus vasculitis have a wide spectrum of severity which can result in different prognoses. Therefore, its diagnosis and treatment remain challenging without specific guidelines. A 49-year-old woman with systemic lupus erythematosus presented with transient left side paresthesia and dysarthria lasting 20 minutes. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a multifocal diffusion restriction and sulcal hyperintensities in the right middle cerebral artery region. Brain magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) showed multifocal steno-occlusive lesions at her intracranial arteries. Because she only showed transient symptoms, aspirin (100 mg/day), atorvastatin (20 mg/day) and an increased dose of prednisolone (5 mg/day to 10 mg/day) were started, on the suspicion of cerebral lupus vasculitis. Brain MRIs/MRAs renormalized after four months without any recurrence. Cerebral lupus vasculitis manifests diverse clinical and neuroimaging characteristics. Although brain image demonstrates devastating features, tailored immune therapy should be selected based on the severity of the patient’s symptoms.
The Differences in Flow Experience between Leisure and Work

The purpose of this study is to categorize daily activities by level of perceived challenge and skill in the four-channel flow model and to identify the differences in terms of frequency and level of flow experience between leisure and work activities. Text Message Experience Sampling Method(TM-ESM) was developed to collect data using a mobile phone interface instead of the traditional Experience Sampling Form(ESF). The present study partially supported that flow experiences were more likely to occur in work than in leisure. The results also found that there were statistically significant differences in level of overall flow experience between work and leisure activities. After the closer examination of these results, the analysis revealed that it could be differentiated by conditions of perceived skills and challenges. Therefore, results imply that level of skills and challenges is important factors for frequency and level of flow experiences.
A Study on Secure Boot for Mobile Platform

In this paper we described and proposed the secure boot for the trusted mobile platform. Unlike a PC(Personal Computer), the mobile platform has a limited resource and requires low power processing. Therefore, in order to support these requirements, more effiecient boot process of the mobile platform is necessary and the mobile platform should have the faster booting time with minial component. The secure boot mechanism proposed in this paper is sutible for the mobile platform environment and is based on specification of MPWG(Mobile Platform Work Group).
