The anti-platelet agent is a member of a class of pharmaceuticals that decreases platelet aggregation and inhibits thrombus formation. They are effective in the arterial circulation and widely used in primary and secondary prevention of thrombotic cerebrovascular or cardiovascular disease. As a method for estimating the effects of anti-platelet agent, platelet aggregation was conventionally measured using the optical method or the impedance method. Several alternate methods currently in development or recently developed were considered, including luminescence method, flow cytometry, laser-light scattering method, and Verify Now-P2Y12 assay. Principles, advantages, and disadvantages of the optical method, impedance method, and the other alternate platelet aggregation methods were discussed in this report. 15 human volunteers were recruited for the evaluation of the efficacy of triflusal using the optical method. After the oral administration of a single dose of 900mg, 15 subjects received eight doses administered at 24-hour intervals of 600mg triflusal. Using platelet rich-plasma from above subjects, we performed baseline platelet aggregation test induced by adenosine diphosphate(ADP), collagen, and arachidonic acid. The results of platelet aggregation test after triflusal administration were compared with the baseline study. Triflusal significantly inhibited platelet aggregation induced by ADP (33.0±21.3%) and arachidonic acid (99.1±1.2%), respectively. Therefore, we concluded that anti-platelet aggregation effect of triflusal can be studied successfully with the optical method. Each of the platelet aggregation methods has value for evaluating the effects by various mechanisms of the anti-platelet agents. The ideal method for estimating the platelet aggregation as it relates to safety and efficacy in patients treated with anti-platelet agents will need to be determined in clinical trials.

The vision system model used for this study involves the six parameters that permits a land of adaptability in th relationship between the camera space location of manipulable visual cues and the vector of robot joint coordinates is estimated in real he. Also this vision control method quires the number of cameras to transform 2-D camera plane from 3-D physical space, and be used irrespective of location of cameras, if visual cues are displayed in the same camera plane. Thus, this study is to investigate the optimal number of cameras used for the developed vision control system according to the change of the number of cameras. This study is processed in the two ways : a) effectiveness of vision system model b) optimal number of cameras. These results show the evidence of the adaptability of the developed vision control method using the optimal number of cameras.

Recently, the use of vision system is rapidly increasing in inspection and robot's position control. To apply the vision system, it is necessary to transform the physical coordinate of object into the image information acquired by CCD camera, which is called image processing. Thus, to use the application of the vision system in the inspection and robot's position control in real time, we have to know the position of object in the image plane. Particularly, in case of rigid body using multi-cues to identify its shape, the each position of multi-cues must by calculated in an image plane at the same time. To solve these problems, this study is developed the image processing algorithm of multi-cue's centroids position.

Thermal Management in the Electric Vehicel is essential to improve the battery performance. This paper aims at the investigating the performance of Phase Change Material to prevent the thermal runway in the EVs. The better phase change materials are identified through simulation, based on heat transfer rate through the PCM. The design of the battery module was done in auto cad and the analysis done in ANSYS CFD software. The three pcms like paraffin wax, RT and Expanded Graphite were selected for the comparison. From the simulation result it was identified that the battery pack temperature maximum is not beyond the 60℃ (safe operating temperature range) in all test condition with the Expanded Graphite pcm material. The results were validated with numerical calculation and shown good agreement based on data collected at different temperatures.

Formula for self-resonant frequency of Archimedean spiral coils

<P>A simple empirical formula is proposed to calculate the self-resonant frequency of Archimedean spiral coils made of circular wire. A spiral coil can be considered as a deformed straight wire with some specific structural parameters. Each structural parameter is assumed to affect the self-resonant frequency. Two spiral coils, one that resonates near 13.56 MHz and one that resonates near 6.78 MHz, were fabricated to test the proposed formula. The average per cent error between the measured result and the calculated result was 2.66%. The proposed formula will be helpful in the design of Archimedean spiral coils for wireless power transfer.</P>

Microvascular invasion (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major risk factor for the survival of patients with HCCs. However, accurate diagnoses of MVI before surgery is a difficult task. There have been various attempts to detect MVI via MRI images using deep learning techniques, but the limited quantity of medical data has been a critical issue. In this study, we aim to find an optimal GAN model which can generate high-quality and differentiable images; so that it can be used in improving the performance of MVI detection models. Differentiability is introduced for the evaluation metric. Labeled ROIs extracted from HBP images of patients with or without MVI were used for training. The optimal hyperparameter set for the DCGAN, ACGAN, and WGAN-GP models were found based on the FID score. With the help of radiologists, it was verified that the optimal model produces realistic images that are difficult to distinguish from real images.
