This paper describes the measurement techniques of measurement a digital phase meter using the Dual-Slop principle of D/A conversion and micro-computer. The signal process makes use of the 8 bit D/A converter and the counter. For measuring process the value of phase difference is measured in 2 cycle of input waveforms and computed in micro-computer. Measurement range is 0? to 90? in phase difference and 0 to 200 Hz in frequency. The result show that digital measurement values are in a good agreement with an analog measurement values.
A Study on Thermal Stability Improvement in Ni Germanide/p-Ge using Co interlayer for Ge MOSFETs

Nickel germanide (NiGe) is one of the most promising alloy materials for source/drain (S/D) of Ge MOSFETs. However, NiGe has limited thermal stability up to 450°C which is a challenge for fabrication of Ge MOSFETs. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to improve the thermal stability of NiGe using Co interlayer. As a result, we found that the thermal stability of NiGe was improved from 450°C to 570°C by using the proposed Co interlayer. Furthermore, we found that current-voltage (I-V) characteristic was improved a little by using Co/Ni/TiN structure after post-annealing. Therefore, NiGe formed by the proposed Co interlayer that is, Co/Ni/TiN structure, is a promising technology for S/D contact of Ge MOSFETs.
Life Analysis and Reliability Prediction of Micro-Switches based on Life Prediction Method

Reliability means that a product maintains its initial quality and performance at a certain period of time (time, distance,cycle etc) under given condition without failure. The given conditions include both environmental condition and operating condition. Environmental condition means a common natural environment such as temperature, humidity, vibration, and working condition means an artificial environment such as voltage, current load, place for installment, and hours of use, which occurs during the life of the product. In the field of railway vehicles, it is mandatory to use a part with the proved reliability as the extension of the life of vehicle become highly necessary. But the reliable assessment method for the reliability of the part is insufficient. If the reliability of the railway vehicle parts could be assessed by using the field data, the reliability of the entire system could also be evaluated reliably. In this study, life span of micro-switch for master controller is analyzed and prediction is performed based on its field data given by an operator considering the special circumstances of railway vehicles such as the operation of a large number of trains on the same line.
