Lipid Profile Change after Thyroidectomy
Chih Hao Chu,Soo Young Kim,Yong Sang Lee,Hang-Seok Chang 대한갑상선-내분비외과학회 2020 The Koreran journal of Endocrine Surgery Vol.20 No.3
Purpose: Thyroid diseases and lipid metabolic abnormalities have been reported to be correlated. In patients with thyroid cancer, thyroid stimulating hormone levels are suppressed to prevent recurrence. Many studies have reported dyslipidemia associated with thyroid function, although its extent before and after thyroidectomy remains to be studied. This study aimed to determine the lipid levels for administering accurate lipid treatment in thyroid cancer patients post thyroidectomy. Methods: In total, 1,203 patients with thyroid cancer who underwent thyroidectomy between June 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 at the Thyroid Cancer Center, Gangnam Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, were enrolled in the study. Of these, patients aged <19 years and taking medication for dyslipidemia were excluded. Finally, we enrolled 295 thyroid cancer patients who underwent thyroidectomy and whose lipid profiles were confirmed pre- and post-operatively. Results: The total cholesterol levels in the lobectomy group without levothyroxine supplementation were significantly increased 1 year after surgery than those before surgery (168.17±29.19 mg/dL vs. 182.50±34.03 mg/dL, P=0.003). Additionally, the triglyceride (TG) levels were significantly decreased in the lobectomy with levothyroxine supplementation and total thyroidectomy groups, whereas cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) levels showed no significant change. No significant changes in the levels of cholesterol, LDL-C, and TG were observed in all the 3 groups. Conclusion: Extent of surgery and levothyroxine supplementation had an insignificant impact on the levels of cholesterol, LDL-C, TG, and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol compared pre- and post-operatively.

Chinese government has declared that China solved the "problem of food subsistency" by 1984, Which means China solved the food problem by mid 1980s. The potentially unemployed labor forces in Chinese rural area were estimated as much as 173 million as of 1996. Thereforce, food is really serious in China, Where seasonality lack of food is very important in China. Chinese food marketing system developed 3rd step. But the effects of food system were miners because of increasing food price and monetery in urban.
From Housewives to Activists : Lived Experiences of Mothers for Disability Rights in Taiwan
Chang, Heng Hao Ewha Womans University Press 2009 Asian Journal of Women's Studies(AJWS) Vol.15 No.3
When a family has a disabled child, the mother usually takes on the caretaker role and also carries the social stigma associated with disability. Based on participant observation and in-depth interviews with members of the Parents Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PAPID), this article explores the meanings of activism for parents who participate in the disability rights movement. First, it shows the impact of disability stigma on family members, especially the mothers of disabled persons. Second, the study shows that the participants of this movement, mainly the mothers of intellectually disabled children, not only promote the welfare of their children but they also learn to confront social stigma and renegotiate their gender roles. Parents’ associations have become an important public space for these mothers to escape home confinement and enjoy civic life. In contrast, the fathers who were interviewed saw activism as an obligation and were less likely to show emotional attachment to the civic organizations.

In this study, we evaluated the effect of additionof non-volatile compounds (sodium sulfite, tartaric acid, tannin, and glucose) on the rheological properties, releaseof aroma compounds, and color of the red wine. Whiledetermining the rheological properties of the supplementedsamples, non-Newtonian fluidic and shear-thinningbehavior of samples was noticed. The viscosity of thesesamples was found in negative correlation with the dose ofaddition of various non-volatile substances. The aromaprofile of red wine after additions showed the change in therelease of the nine key aroma compounds. Among themethyl hexanoate, phenylethyl alcohol, octanoic acid, diethylsuccinate, and ethyl octanoate were profoundly increased. Further, the color of red wines was improved in the presenceof tartaric acid and tannin. Overall, supplementationof various substances during storage period of three differentwines could enormously affect the sensory characteristicsin a dose dependent manner.
Analyzing Offshore Wind Power Patent Portfolios by Using Data Clustering
Chang, Shu-Hao,Fan, Chin-Yuan Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers 2014 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.13 No.1
Offshore wind power has been extremely popular in recent years, and in the energy technology field, relevant research has been increasingly conducted. However, research regarding patent portfolios is still insufficient. The purpose of this research is to study the status of mainstream offshore wind power technology and patent portfolios and to investigate major assignees and countries to obtain a thorough understanding of the developmental trends of offshore wind power technology. The findings may be used by the government and industry for designing additional strategic development proposals. Data mining methods, such as multiple correspondence analyses and k-means clustering, were implemented to explore the competing technological and strategic-group relationships within the offshore wind power industry. The results indicate that the technological positions and patent portfolios of the countries and manufacturers are different. Additional technological development strategy recommendations were proposed for the offshore wind power industry.

Implementation of Image Transmission Based on Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication
Chang-hao Piao,Xiaoyue Ding,Jia He,장수현,Mingjie Liu 한국정보처리학회 2022 Journal of information processing systems Vol.18 No.2
Weak over-the-horizon perception and blind spot are the main problems in intelligent connected vehicles(ICVs). In this paper, a V2V image transmission-based road condition warning method is proposed to solvethem. The encoded road emergency images which are collected by the ICV are transmitted to the on-board unit(OBU) through Ethernet. The OBU broadcasts the fragmented image information including location and clockof the vehicle to other OBUs. To satisfy the channel quality of the V2X communication in different times, theoptimal fragment length is selected by the OBU to process the image information. Then, according to theposition and clock information of the remote vehicles, OBU of the receiver selects valid messages to decodethe image information which will help the receiver to extend the perceptual field. The experimental resultsshow that our method has an average packet loss rate of 0.5%. The transmission delay is about 51.59 ms inlow-speed driving scenarios, which can provide drivers with timely and reliable warnings of the roadconditions.

This study focused on the enzymatic biotransformation of the major ginsenoside Rb1 into Rd for the mass production of minor ginsenosides using a novel recombinant β-glucosidase from Flavobacterium johnsoniae. The gene (bglF3) consisting of 2,235 bp (744 amino acid residues) was cloned and the recombinant enzyme overexpressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) was characterized. This enzyme could transform ginsenoside Rb1 and gypenoside XVII to the ginsenosides Rd and F2, respectively. The glutathione S-transferase (GST) fused BglF3 was purifi ed with GST-bind agarose resin and characterized. The kinetic parameters for β-glucosidase had apparent Km values of 0.91±0.02 and 2.84±0.05 mM and Vmax values of 5.75±0.12 and 0.71±0.01 μmol·min-1·mg of protein-1 against p-nitrophenyl-β-D-glucopyranoside and Rb1, respectively. At optimal conditions of pH 6.0 and 37°C, BglF3 could only hydrolyze the outer glucose moiety of ginsenoside Rb1 and gypenoside XVII at the C-20 position of aglycon into ginsenosides Rd and F2, respectively. These results indicate that the recombinant BglF3 could be useful for the mass production of ginsenosides Rd and F2 in the pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry.
