A Study of the Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui (兩景揆日儀) in the Joseon Dynasty

The Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui (兩景揆日儀) is a kind of elevation sundial using three wooden plates. Sang-hyeok Lee (李尙爀, 1810~?) and Byeong-cheol Nam (南秉哲, 1817~1863) gave descriptions of this sundial and explained how to use it in their Gyu-il-go (揆日考) and Ui-gi-jip-seol (儀器輯說), respectively. According to Gyu-il-go (揆日考) there are two horizontal plates and two vertical plates that have lines of season and time. Subseasonal (節候) lines are engraved between seasonal (節氣) lines, subdividing the interval into three equal lines of Cho-hu (初候, early subseason), Jung-hu (中候, mid subseason) and Mal-hu (末候, late subseason); there are 13 seasonal lines for a year, thus resulting in 37 subseasonal lines; also, there are 12 double-hour (時辰) lines for a day engraved on these plates. The only remaining artifact of Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui was made in 1849 (the 15th year of Heon-jong) and is kept at the Korea University Museum. We have compared and analyzed Yanggyeong- gyu-il-ui and similar western sundials. Also, we have reviewed the scientific aspect of this artifact and built a replica. Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui is a new model enhanced from the miniaturization development in the early Joseon Dynasty and can be applied to the southern part of the tropic line through a structure change.

As the core platform of the Internet moves from PC to mobile, the center of business is rapidly shifting to providing services optimized for mobile environment such as messenger and SNS instead of existing portal operators. In particular, O2O services are rapidly growing as they are able to provide location-based services in real time via smartphones. Today, many companies are taking advantage of this as a marketing strategy. O2O services are being extended from retail, banking, hospitals, department stores, and interior to service areas such as restaurants, hospitality and taxis. Thus, this study examined the evolution phases and types of O2O service, and proposed three strategies for sustainable growth of O2O services.

The purpose of this study was to assess isokinetic factors between female taekwondo and judo players. Fourteen female subjects employed for this study were all national team levels. They were all university students and average age were 21 years old. The main findings as follows: 1) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Peak Torque. 2) Taekwondo players were significantly wider than Judo players in angle of Peak Torque. 3) Taekwondo players were significantly faster than Judo players in Accel Time. 4) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Total Work. 5) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Average Power. 6) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in TAE. 7) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Set Total Work. 8) There was no significant differences exist in endurance rate between female Taekwondo and Judo players.

The temperature variations due to industrialization in Yangsan area are investigated using the 10 years(1980∼1989) temperature data and compared with those of Jinju. The major results are as follows: (1) The rates of increase of mean and minimum temperatures were more pronounced in Yangsan area than in Jinju area, and the increasing rates were always positive for every month. (2) There exists close correlation between the growth of population and increase of minimum temperature, and between the growth of population and the increase of mean temperature. Furtheromore, close correlations between the increase of those temperature and other industrial factors are also indentified.

The odontomas are most common odontogenic tumors composed of various tooth-like structures : enamel, dentin, cementum, pulp tissue. The etioglogy of the odontoma is not evident but it has been suggested that local trauma or infection may produced such a lesion. Clinically, they are asymptomatic, slow growing and lesions of limited growth that show no infitration to the adjacent tissues. They are dignosed most often in the second decade of life, and have no predilection for jaws. The treatment is surgical excision and there is no expectancy of recurrence or serious complications after removal.

This study has a purpose of correcting horizontal angle to computer reduction to center by means of distance-eccentricity of triangulation point, using fixed triangulation point and distance of eccentricity. The results are obtained as follows. 1.The error of horizontal angle is increased in proportion to distance-eccentricity. 2.The observational error of directional and horizontal angle have a little influence about the results of computation of reduction to center. 3.Horizontal angle is more influential than directional one on the basis of subtracting true value to corrected one.
