The purpose of this study is to consider the relationship between form and content and view of the novel in “Wall of Rumors.” This study deals with the function and the effect of detective plot and multiple-layered structure and then the relationship between the function and the content. Lastly, this study considers Lee’s view of novels. Plot is a design to find out what suppressed desire is. Detective plot in “Wall of rumors” is generated by the narrator’s curiosity about Park Jun’s life. The speaker collects clues to trace Park’s secrets and constructs them into narrative to understand why Park’s desire is suppressed. Though the structure in “Wall of rumors” is layered, it is a kind of story-within-a story. While the speaker recollects the past, the speaker―outside the narrative―reflects and explores himself. The detective plot and multiple-layered structure makes readers overlap themselves with the speaker, so readers can explore what their oppressed desires are as the speaker. “Wall of Rumors” describes the process to find out the meaning of sign. Anyone who encounters sign is forced to interpret its meaning. To interpret it, the one makes use of all information he can use. After interpreting, the one finds out current meaning of sign and comprehends why sign cause him to feel something. Tracing Park’s life, the speaker finds out the hidden truth inside of himself. This is only possible in literature to find out the truth of life. This is the reason why narrator follows Park Jun’s life. As for Lee Chung-Jun, novel is kind of mental experiment to give matters of life to the readers. Lee describes process to explore what real suppression is in his novels. However Lee does not give a clear answer to the readers. Therefore, readers can form their own conclusion. This is similar to the view of Lee’s novel that can be interpreted the meaning of his works variously. The function of forms is to speculate the matters of live with the readers. And the readers follow the process of learning to face the truth. In the process, Lee makes the readers form their own meaning to the works not follow the fixed meaning.

Currently, a lot of people are aware of their health and well-being, so they are concerned about their healthcare. ‘Taekwondo’ is one of the popular sports that Korean people are passionate about Taekwondo has also become globalized. The uniform of Taekwondo is gaining importance. Taekwondo involves a lot of movement, hence the pattern should facilitate the movement. In addition Taekwondo uniform pattern should meet the demands of functionality, fit and consumer design preferences. This study aimed to provide the basic data for development of Taekwondo uniform pattern based on design preferences and functionality to wearer satisfaction. The result of this method indicated fit and design details. Also, the length of pants, top, and sleeve was too wide, which has to more fitted for both of genders. For females, the breakpoint was too low, which requires some increase to make females feel more secure. In conclusion, the results of this study indicated that in order to increase ‘Takwondo’ value, Taekwondo uniform is required to be more fashionable and comfortable to wear, which could influence other sports wear.

Background: Dermoscopy is in vivo cutaneous surface microscopy at 10∼20 X magnification. It has been gaining in popularity in clinical dermatology. The recognition of dermoscopic features of melanoma and other skin lesions including seborrheic keratosis (SK) is valuable for improving clinical diagnostic accuracy and for reducing unnecessary excisions. Objective: The aim of this study was to clarify the dermoscopic features observed in SK, estimate the prevalence of the findings among Korean patients, and compare findings between Koreans and Caucasian peoples. Methods: A total of twenty five patients with biopsy-proven SK were selected. The dermoscopic features of SK that we investigated have been well described by Braun et al. including ``milia-like cyst`` and ``comedo-like opening``. We determined the frequency of each feature. Results: Among the twenty five SK cases, the main dermoscopic features of SK such as ``milia-like cyst`` and ``comedo-like opening`` were found in about half of cases (52% and 52%, respectively). Additional dermoscopic features and frequencies (in parenthesis) were: ``sharp demarcation`` (92%), ``fissure`` (72%), ``moth-eaten border`` (56%), ``hairpin blood vessel`` (20%), ``network-like structure`` (20%), ``exophytic papillary pattern`` (20%), and ``globular pattern`` (4%). The frequency of ``hairpin blood vessel`` and ``network-like structure’ was significantly lower in Koreans than in Caucasians (p<0.05). The small size is a limitation of the study. Conclusion: Most dermoscopic features (morphology and frequency) of SK observed in Korean patients (with the relatively rare exception of additional features) are similar to the features reported for Caucasians. In this study, the KS A ISO Guide 35 was applied to develop analytical standards for heavy metal cadmium using the Korean mussel (Mytilus coruscus) and to evaluate the homogeneity and stability of the sample. Some of the crucial characteristics that reference materials must consist include homogeneity and stability of both intra- and inter-bottles. We tested homogeneity using ANOVA analysis and short-term stability using regression analysis. The variations of cadmium concentrations did not significantly differ between intra- and inter-bottles (F=0.41, p=0.90). For short-term stability verification, cadmium analysis results were not statistically significant as a result of the regression analysis (significance F=0.51, p=0.53). This suggests that we can not dismiss the null hypothesis that there is no significant variation in concentrations of cadmium over time. These results indicated that the cryogenic-milling process has statistically proven the short-term stability for materials from mussels in the chemical analysis of cadmium. Therefore, we propose that the Korean mussel’s reference material developed for the proficiency test could be used as a tool to evaluate reliability and consistency in laboratories.

4·3이라는 왜상과 이데올로기의 허상 - 「순이삼촌」 론

본 연구는 이데올로기의 허상과 왜상을 통해 「순이삼촌」에 형상화된 문학의 정치를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그동안 「순이삼촌」은 작품의 외재적 맥락과 결합하여 제주4·3사건의 재현 양상이나 기억 복원 방식에 초점을 두어 연구되었다. 그러다 보니 작품 자체가 허구를 통해 전달하고자 한 진실과 그것의 정치성에 대해 상대적으로 연구되지 않은 측면이 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 「순이삼촌」의 미학적 측면에서 진실 찾기 플롯의 형성과 그것을 통해 드러내고자 한 진실의 문제를 살펴보고자 한다. 이 진실은 제주 4·3사건이 지배 이데올로기의 허상을 지탱할 왜상으로 기능했음을 의미한다. 「순이삼촌」의 진실 찾기는 기존 이데올로기에 균열을 내는 새로운 시선을 통해서만 되찾을 수 있다. 이를 위해 서술자 ‘나’의 설정을 짚어보는 것은 ‘나’가 순이삼촌의 죽음에 최종적으로 부여하는 윤리적 의미를 발견하기 위해 중요하다. ‘나’는 사건 당시 어렸기 때문에 과거의 진실을 증언하기에는 불충분한 기억을 지닌다. 그러나 ‘나’는 순이삼촌과의 만남을 통해 자신의 정체성을 회복하면서 제주4·3사건을 야기한 지배 이데올로기를 삐딱하게 바라볼 수 있는 주체로 거듭난다. ‘나’는 순이삼촌의 죽음에 감춰진 진실을 추적하면서 4·3 왜상을 만들어낸 이데올로기의 기만적인 허상을 간파한다. 이데올로기는 권력의 공포를 가시화하기 위해서 무의미한 기표에 과잉된 의미를 부여한다. 이후 그것에 무차별적 폭력을 가함으로써 내부를 통제하는데, 제주도의 경우가 이에 해당한다. 제주4·3사건 속에 자행된 민간인 학살은 그 장소에 공비가 없음에도 있다는 논리를 지탱했으며, 제주도민들은 그 환영을 붙들어 매는 왜상이 된다. 「순이삼촌」의 진실 찾기 플롯은 제주4·3사건을 하나의 왜상으로 이용한 이데올로기의 기만을 폭로한다. 이데올로기의 공백은 제주4·3사건의 규정한 방식에 균열을 가하며 새로운 관점에서 그것의 의미를 형성할 수 있도록 한다. 이를 통해 빨갱이로 매도되던 역사를 바로잡고 침묵하던 진실을 드러낼 수 있다. ‘나’의 시선은 ‘순이삼촌’이라는 형상 속에서 왜상을 작동시킨 이데올로기의 거짓된 논리를 들춰내고 침묵했던 진실을 가시화한다. 이와 더불어 ‘길수’와 ‘나’의 말하기는 위험을 무릅쓰고서라도 진실을 지키기 위한 파레시아의 윤리적 실천에 해당한다. 젊은 세대는 기존 이데올로기와 화합할 수 없는 분열적인 목소리를 냄으로써 진실의 위기를 이겨내고자 한다. 이와 같이 「순이삼촌」은 침묵하던 진실을 외치는 윤리적 말하기를 실천한다. 이것이 「순이삼촌」이 허구를 통해 펼쳐나간 문학의 정치이다. The purpose of this study is to consider an Anamorphosis of 4·3 and an illusion of ideology through “Sun-i Samchon.” Previous studies are focused on how it represents Jeju 4·3 incident or how characters recall their past. For that reason, relatively “Sun-i Samchon”’s aesthetic aspects have not been studied. Therefore, this study is to consider the finding truth plot and the matter of truth on “Sun-i Samchon.” It means that Jeju 4·3 incident was the anamorphosis for sustaining an illusion of anti-communist ideology. Finding truth in “Sun-i Samchon” can only be recovered through a awry perspective that cracks the existing ideology. To this end, it is important to look at the setting of narrator “Sangsu(I).” If the purpose of this novel is to give testimony of a tragedy of Jeju 4·3 incident, Sangsu is an unreliable narrator. Because he was so young at that time, he could not know what causes this tragic incident. However, Sangsu is the right person to deliver Sun-i samchon’s truth. Because he can look the dominant ideology awry after accepting his Jeju identity. Sangsu notices the illusion of ideology by tracing the hidden truth in Sun-i’s death. Ideology gives excessive meanings to the empty signifier, which is an anamorphosis, to visualize the fear of power. For a long time, Anti-communist ideology in Korea had been a control mechanism to justify punishment to those who had opposed the government. It activates indiscriminate slaughter in Jeju. The incident represented in this novel shows that 4·3 was an effective anamorphosis to control Jeju island. Government power made innocent people all communist and killed them even if they weren’t red guerrillas. In other words, ‘Jeju-island’ or ‘jeju residents’ became the anamorphosis in 4·3 incident that sustained the illusion of ideology. Although government power still defines Jeju 4·3 incident as a communist riot, Younger generation in “Sun-i samchon” insist that this tragedy should be revealed. While older generation hesitate to tell the truth or they reject it, younger one do not step back. They try to lift their voices in spite of the danger they might get involved. This is the way how to show an ethics of parrhesia and to make politics of literature in “Sun-i samchon.”
